We really like the location of this hotel. Close to family and took a bus into NY city. We also drove our car into Brooklyn for pizza! The room was large and we liked the bathroom especially for 2 people. Lots of places to put our stuff. Breakfast was what we are used to. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Annie is an incompetent manager. My son had a wedding block last week. When speaking to her, she would say she is too busy to speak to us. She did the same with our guests. Very rude. Her attitude as a manager does not suit her role at all. She made the experience very stressful. The rest of the staff were all very pleasant, but Annie you will need to further your training in the upcoming weeks.

I almost cancelled the stay after reading the reviews here and elsewhere but it really is the only brand hotel in the area so I bit the bullet. I did not experience any issues during my stay but there certainly some signs that the they don’t always attract the best clientele. For example I was not able to receive my digital key without first stopping at the front desk to “verify that I am who I say I am.” Very odd and the first time I had to do this after many stays where I requested a digital key. The front desk associate was almost combative while communicating about the hold on my card for incidentals which was again: very odd. The ‘grab and go’ area was also roped off as if the hotel anticipated criminal behavior from their guests. So it was not a great first impression which is always hard to break. Throughout the hotel there are unusual signs warning guests not to vape, burn incense or assault hotel employees who, incidentally, are equipped with “panic buttons.” I couldn’t help wondering, “what happens here?” After this initial weird first impression I managed to have a few restful nights’ sleep. The rooms are what one would expect at a Hampton. Breakfast is fine, reminiscent of a high school cafeteria but well stocked with good attentive service by staff but there is a WAWA and Dunkin’ very close if premade omelettes and sausage patties are not your thing. I didn’t get any service to my room even after requesting it which is not ideal for a three-night stay. In general I thought this Hampton was way overpriced for what you get. I probably will not stay again when in Jersey. The convenient location is not enough to make up for the mediocrity.

I was hesitant to stay at the hotel based upon reviews. Overall our 2 day stay was great! Front desk was friendly. Our room was clean with no funny smells. If I had to offer “complaint”, the temperature of the room was chilly even after we adjusted - but that was remedied by adding a blanket to the bed. Bed and pillows were comfy tolerable. Gym was a generous size, even with a Peloton. Breakfast was better than most comparable hotels. Location met our needs as it was accessible to the highway we needed to take to get to our daily location. Barely heard highway traffic and we were on that side of hotel. Area seemed safe enough. I would definitely stay here again.

Special thanks to GM Annie & her ops person Pat for a great stay recently for us attending a Birthday party in Englishtown. The Property has been renovated and very neat and clean inside. It is the only Property in Old Bridge and the Hampton serves an awesome breakfast and for those of you who read the WSJ, there was a recent article on how much its loyal customers stay for the waffles.||Free parking, quick check-in, only minor item was the room assigned using the quick-check in changed when we arrived.||2 Queen beds more than enough room for kids.||I'm amazed more Hotels are not in the immediate area. Clearly demand for good properties.||A really great stay. Thanks again GM Annie Chen

My family’s stay at the Hampton Inn in Old Bridge, NJ, was a disaster from start to finish. The room phone in one room was completely inoperable, making it impossible to contact the front desk without physically going downstairs for every issue. The staff was unfriendly and rude when we requested basic things like extra linens and hand soap, which we had to fetch ourselves. To top it off, we woke up with bugs in one of the beds, which they brushed off as a minor issue. LITERAL BUGS IN THE BED. Then, when we switched rooms we were called at 10:17 AM to stop our conversations because our neighbor "had a long night," which is absurd as it is, but especially considering quiet hours ending at 7 AM. This hotel clearly doesn’t value its guests. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

When it first opened I stayed there, it was a nice experience, so I booked to stay again. Never will I make the same mistake twice. First off i usually check in on the app so I can bypass the front desk. This time around I checked in at the front desk because I wanted to check in earlier than what was on the app. The front desk lady Asia doesn’t know what she is doing. After explaining to her I left the card I booked it on at home because of all the Hilton hotels I’ve stayed in I never had to bring the card that they automatically billed my Hilton card I booked the room with. Apparently this is the ONLY location where you have to physically bring the card. Which I don’t believe because I stayed here before and customer service said that they wanted a card to verify and that they could have used the card I booked on file when I called to discuss the issue. The Customer service person even called Asia to ask her why she didn’t use the card and they said she never gave a reason. However after getting off the phone with customer service she had the nerve to ask me why I didn’t tell her I wanted to use the card on file as if I didn’t have a whole discussion with her earlier. To make matters worse I told Asia I’ve been to that location before and it wasn’t like that, she tells me “no you haven’t I checked your history”. Now how the hell you’re going to tell me where I have and haven’t been, the history only shows 12months nothing longer. On top of that she said the general manager Annie will be there Sunday so she can switch the payment to my Hilton card. I checked out on Sunday and guess what this other front desk lady #2 says the general manger doesn’t come on Sundays. She also printed a receipt that shows the visa but she said on her side of the screen it shows the Hilton card was used. Now I’m thinking I’m going to be double charged on 2 different cards. So I went Monday before work to to talk to what I thought was just the general manager. However it ended up being the general manager and her bodyguard. This other front desk lady#3 keep chiming in and I wasn’t even talking to her, she had nothing to do with the situation and she wasn’t even there when it happened. Now they are telling me a different thing that their end shows I used a visa not the Hilton and that a new system was in place that you need to bring the physical card. I don’t believe them because Customer Service (which at this point is more reliable than dealing with 3 different front desk personal and a manager)said they can used any card to verify and use the card on file. As well as if I just waited and used the app i wouldn’t have to deal with so many people that knows nothing and bothering me about a card. As for the room, I had to change rooms because there were satins on the sheets and towels in the first room given to me. Even the second room we had stains on the towels as well, that we had to get 2 other ones which is ridiculous. It’s not worth the amount of money they are charging you for the room. Save yourself the trouble and go to a different hotel.

Sorry, I lost your response in a folder and just found it. We were originally given a room that was connecting on the 3rd floor. The person in the next room was smoking pot. They also sent a disgusting note under the connecting doors. I told the night desk person and gave the note to him. He seemed to know who it was. We moved to a non-connecting room on the 2nd floor. When I spoke to the desk person the next morning she told me she found the note in the garbage and read it. We explained to her what happened. I guess neither one reported it to you. We liked the property and your breakfast was one of the best we've had in a hotel.
