Hampton Inn New Orleans French Quarter Market Area - Featured Reviews (190)
Located one block from Frenchman St. The hotel is newer, good staff, comfortable beds & good breakfast. We liked the convenience and security of valet parking. IMO, worth the price for peace of mind. The location is walkable to the French Quarter, French market , Jackson Square area. I wouldn’t walk to these areas at night, lots of unsavories roaming about. Close to the bus & trolley lines.
Took a family trip as a "off to college" present for our son. He's a music major so we thought he would love the jazz vibe of New Orleans. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The elevators were a little slow but that was not a huge issue. The only parking associated with the hotel is valet and it's $40 a day (which is average for the area). There is some public parking around but I felt more comfortable having my car on the hotel premises. The breakfast was the normal hotel breakfast of eggs/a meat/toast/bagels, you know, normal breakfast foods. The shining star to our stay was, Summer, the front desk person. She was amazing, went above and beyond to help us. I had to get towels (didn't realize that they only clean rooms every other day), told us where the corner store was for some "adult" beverages for us to take to the room, and brought us towels to the pool. The text the front desk feature in the app is amazing because we couldn't remember the name of the store she told us and I was able to send a text and get a reply back while we were walking around. This hotel is walking distance to the French Quarter and Bourbon St. I had no issues feeling safe walking to the hotel when we came back in the evenings... I mean it's New Orleans....If your out after midnight, that's probably not the smartest move anyway. We used Uber one time the entire time we were there and that was to go to the WWII Museum. Dat Dog is near by and very good to eat at! Cafe du Monde is also near and a must for beignets and cafe au lait's The Jazz Museum is near and a must see if you like jazz music. We will be staying here again on our next trip and I will recommend it to others.
I was in town for work and the location was perfect for me. Close enough to the Quarter if I wanted it, yet far enough away to not hear it. This is a newer hotel so the rooms are still nice. I only wish they had some firmer pillows (my only negative).
But most important was the service. They were under a boil order, so none of the ice machines were working. When I asked the front desk where the closest place to buy ice was, one of the managers insisted on going to buy bags herself. I stay in hotels every week. Trust me when I say, this type of kindness/service is a rare find, but HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you so much!
Stayed at this hotel as it looked like a good location. And not very happy about multiple things.||||1st issue:|| I had was with the 3rd party valet parking. The young man was more interested in being on his phone than actually doing his job. Found out he had took my rental vehicle on a little joy ride as it took him 15 minutes to park the vehicle and only 3 minutes to retrieve it. (I can explain more if you need me to)||Expressed my feeling about this to the front desk. The lady told me that she has no control over them as they are 3rd party and don't work for the hotel.||I stated they are representing the hotel, they park customers vehicles.||Ended up parking across the street at the paid parking lot, to not have to deal with this or the incompetence of the front desk or the dishonesty of the valet service.||||2nd issue:||When I checked out, I had accidentally left my 130.00 Sonic electric toothbrush in the room and noticed it the next morning missing. Immediately contacted the hotel ie: their chat. ||There were extremely SLOW in getting back with me. However they said they never found one and brushed it off. This is garbage it was left in the bathroom. Either the housekeeper kept it or threw it away. ||Either way the hotel is supposed to have a lost and found or how about hire more honest worker.||||I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and am very upset with what I have dealt with.
We stayed at this Hampton Inn for the first time this past Friday thru Sunday nights and we’ll definitely return here again whenever we visit New Orleans next. The location was awesome for what we wanted - a stone’s throw from Frenchmen St & tons of live music, and super close to the French Market as well, and close enough to the Quarter that it’s an easy walk but also not so close to get the full chaos & shenanigans that Bourbon Street entails. We brought our dog and he had a great time as well, it was super convenient having a big grassy median right across the street to walk him.
The bed was comfy and the room was a decent size, and bathroom was clean & had everything we needed. Super glad we got one of the balcony rooms as we loved winding down out there with our dog at night. We parked in the neighborhood behind the hotel and had no issues but they do offer valet as well. We didn’t partake in the hotel breakfast this time but saw it was offered & smelled good.
The staff answered any questions we had while we were there and also made for a super easy return for getting back an item that we left in the room, which we very much appreciate. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone visiting New Orleans.
The absolute best service and care from your front desk associate Hope! We were traveling by train out of state and stopped for a 12 hour lay over in New Orleans. Hope made sure myself and my daughter Emily had all the accommodations we needed like transportation from and to the train station, information on food service that were still open to the best room she had available. The room was amazing and very clean. We had a super comfortable bed and were able to get the proper rest for the next 9 hour train ride ahead of us. Thank you Hope so very much from one worried caring mother to another. You’re the absolute best. Hopefully we shall meet again on a planned trip to New Orleans. We will definitely be staying there where you took such great care of my daughter and I.
The hotel is at in great location, just 2 blocks from the French Quarter. All the staff was great and always had a smile, but the gentleman at valet was wonderful. Every morning he greeted us by name and was just so sweet! The hotel is newer and very clean. This was probably one of the best Hampton Inn's I have stayed at. Only complaint was that the AC was really loud but I notified the front desk to get it looked at.
Friendliest night auditor I've met in a while. Can't remember her name but she was African American with dread locs and a friendly smile and attitude was infectious. She gave so many options during our stay that we had no clue existed. We plan on staying here again next trip.
