Hampton Inn Monterey - Hotel in Monterey - 2401 Del Monte Ave, USA

Stayed for two nights, easy access off the freeway and within walking distance of a number of places to eat.||Checkin was ok, however, parking maybe tight at busy times as there are not too many spaces. The hotel appeared really quiet during our stay.||The rooms are large and appear to have been refurbished in the new style and furnishings, the room had a safe which is always a plus. It’s a year or so since I last stayed in a Hampton and I must say they have cut them to the bone. The beds remain comfortable, with decent linen and the bath towels are good too. It’s comfortable and ok for a couple of nights, however, there are no frills. The coffee in the room was of a lower quality too.||The room and bathroom were very clean and remiss of and furnishing damage.||The breakfast filled a space, however, again it was a basic offering.||What wasn’t basic was the price, for what you get it’s a fairly high price.||Check out left a lot to be desired also, with no interest into our stay.

The lady that checked us in when we arrived was very kind and attentive. We wanted some hot water for tea and the thermos in the Lobby the hot water was just warm. She took the trouble to run back to the kitchen and got us two cups steaming hot water for tea. That was excellent and kind service

I visit the place once a week for they have charging stations for my Ford Fusion. I've found the staff very friendly when I have dealings with them. I may spend a night here in the future so I can give the Hampton Inn Monterey proper rating even though I live very close by.

Positive: New, clean, and roomy. Free parking, wifi, and breakfast are great. Walking distance < 1mile to beach Del Monte and about 10 min drive to downtown. Highly recommended and will come back Negative: Nothing

This hotel has the worst beds that I have ever slept on. We literally had to leave a night early because the thought of another night of tossing and turning and waking up to an excruciating backache was unbearable.|This is too bad because the location is great, the staff friendly and helpful and breakfast is great! The waffles are tasty!

Decent hotel itself, clean. Good EV charging available and nice large rooms. Area around was very unsafe, lot of homeless. There is a small trail by the lake to take dogs with a patch of grass; at 9pm I took my dog to relieve himself and was approached and lunged at by two homeless men, had to sprint back to the hotel, be very careful around here at night!!!

Positive: We arrived earlier at lobby and asked the front desk guy if we could check in earlier. Vincent a great guy who switched some rooms and got us checked in. Great service!!

Brought in the New Year in Monterey and the Hampton Inn had the best value for our 3 night stay. You tell the hotel was recently renovated. Very clean, quaint, and quiet. We had a "lakeview" room, the lake isn't a big attraction, but I guess it's better than looking at the parking lot. Hotel has a single elevator, it's pretty quick but that can delay getting to/from your room. The room was a great size. Had enough room for a sofa and a king size bed. The staff that checked us in was amazing too. The hotel was about 5 minutes from downtown and 10 min from the pier. Seems pretty remote when you're there; however, you aren't too far from anything. BONUS: they have EV charging.
