Hampton Inn Minneapolis Bloomington West - Hotel in Bloomington - 5400 American Blvd W, USA

Room was very clean as was the pool area. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was not the greatest. Would have like to have more then trix yogurt for an option and 1% or skim milk options would have been appreciated but overall the stay was good.

Rooms were nice and clean and the bathrooms were roomie. Showers are nice and big and bed for hotels were close to comfortable as it can get. Rooms I thought for no twins games in town were a bit on costly side. Also will never understand all the taxes the cities charge people visiting. Had to be $40 plus a night in taxes.

Run down hotel. Ugly decor. Breakfast was poor. Snack area had no pop in the morning. Had to switch my first room due to it smelling like dog. The room was small and very run down looking. Very humid and wet feeling in the room. When I got into bed noticed crumbs in the floor near the bed. I was too tired from traveling all day to switch rooms. Duvet cover was very worn looking. When I woke up I noticed that the white comforter that was under the duvet cover was splattered with BLOOD spots that were not mine. I didn’t notice this when I got into bed. Absolutely disgusting. I actually am sick over this. I won’t stay in a Hilton hotel again after this awful experience. Don’t believe the trip advisor traveler ranking! I gave it 2 stars because of the location and the first front desk worker was nice, but please do your homework and don’t stay here.

Stayed for night of March 31, 2023 Check in was smooth and agent at the desk was polite and helpful. Hotel is conveniently located in close proximity of many attractions. Our room was of a good size with all basic amenities in it. Bathroom was one of the biggest we seen in recent times. However when we adjusted heating system in the room fan started to make loud noises. We tried of best to adjust but no luck. Called Front desk and same guy who checked us in car to check thermostat and as bit not able to fix the problem. We had hard time getting slip due to loud noises from AC/Heating. I believe they don’t have maintenance staff available for PM shift. Selection of breakfast items was good but breakfast area was a mess. Staff was not available to clean tables after guests left. All incoming guests were cleaning their own tables. Elevator floor was very dirty in the morning almost sticky. Not sure why hotel management cat get one housekeeping staff earlier to clean elevator and lobby areas. Hotel Management must pay attention to the points mentioned above to get repeat business. Agent at the desk was very professional. Sane agent checked us in and out. 3 stars

We stay here a couple times each year when visiting family in the area. The hotel is always very well maintained & the staff very welcoming. The general manager Charlotte and Patty at the front desk are wonderful. It truly is our home away from home when in this area.

Excellent experience. Clean and welcoming lobby, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms. Nice continental breakfast and great coffee. Perfect location, close to downtown.

This particular Hampton was probably built in the past decade and feels generally new. The common areas and guest rooms are well appointed and comfortable. One of the biggest perks of this property is its somewhat secluded setting in the far western end of Bloomington. It's located in an area that is populated mostly by offices and several large apartment developments. Given its distance from the more active, chaotic commercial east end of Bloomington, it's very serene here. You'll also avoid loud air traffic noise that impacts most of the hotels further east in Bloomington. You may find that this particular Hampton draws a little an older and more business focused clientele. During a non-peak Winter period, this hotel seemed downright deserted, as it was during my stay. As such, if this is potentially an upside for you, you'll find relative solitude here. The negative downside is that there is little to no commercial activity nearby to walk to, beyond the Renaissance Hotel next door. ||The Hampton has a nice indoor pool, whirlpool and well equipped workout facility that were well very well maintained and quiet throughout my stay. ||I'm admittedly not a fan of the breakfast fare that most Hampton's nationwide provide guests. What was offered at this location was average at best. The hot entrees were sub par overall. What's available will fill an empty spot only. You'll find no taste treats. The juices dispensed from the machine were terrible. I also thought that the dining area tables could have been better maintained, especially considering how quiet the area was with so few customers. ||While the common areas appeared clean for the most part, I did notice bagged garbage sitting adjacent to the trash receptacle by the elevator on my floor for an extended 8 hour time without anyone disposing of it. I also thought the hallway carpet could have been more routinely vacuumed. It wasn't. I sensed that there was a small staff on duty at this place at any given time. You'll find little hustle or bustle here. ||Lastly, the Guest Service workers at this hotel are NEVER routinely working at the front desk. Instead, they apparently monitor the desk from a camera from the office behind the desk and only come out as needed. This is a bit of an oddity, both from a security standpoint, and also from a "lets greet our customers with a smile when they come and go" perspective. My opinion is that the hotel staff could spend a little more time as visible employees. Admittedly, they are perhaps more visible at busier times of the day and year. Candidly during my stay, I rarely witnessed anyone up at the front desk. That's not a comforting thing for guests to observe. My humble opinion of course. ||All said, however, it's still a good place overall. I'll give it a solid B.

Really nice staff. The room was in good condition. The fitness center has a lot of equipment. There is a pool and a hot tub and both were clean. Breakfast was good. It was supposed to open at 7 on weekends but the staff had everything ready to go 15 minutes early so that's convenient. I would defiantly recommend staying at this location.
