Hampton Inn Martinsburg - Hotel in Martinsburg - 975 Foxcroft Ave, USA

I travel a lot for work and I am a loyal Hilton customer. I’ve stayed at nearing every Hilton property in West Virginia. I dislike writing reviews but here we go… The location is nice since it is close to the interstate and close to restaurants both in the shopping area and a quick drive to a lot in Martinsburg. The downside is the traffic noise. I’m not sure if it was my location or they did something to the room, but the noise was much better than my previous few stays. The service is always good there. Bella checked me in and remembered me from the previous day. I appreciated that. I had a chance to talk to the some of the cleaning folks and they were all very nice. Nothing stellar but solid service. My issue is with the quality of the rooms. They are clean but they are not maintained. The drain would not close in the tub no matter what I did. Many of the outlets would not work making a challenge to charge my personal and work devices. Worst of all was the stink in the room. I had to keep the bathroom closed at all time because it smelled like sewer gas from the very moment I opened the door. I thought it would go away after a flush or getting some water running. I was wrong. My mistake was not saying anything but after a six hour drive, I was ready to sleep. The rooms are better than they were five years ago, but they still have work to do. The Hilton Garden across the street was filthy both times I stayed there. I’ll take this over the filth. I’m trying the Homes 2 Suites next time I’m in town.

Positive: Staff was very helpful in fulfilling room preference. Generally the folks here are very capable and responsive. The rooms work well and you are within walking distance of many restaurants, a large grocery store and a WalMart. Whatever you might need. Negative: Room wasn't quite as clean as they typically are. Floor of room wasn't vacuumed and there was gum stuck to the headboard. These are at least half the fault of disgusting people who don't know how to behave themselves.

Second time spending a night here. Very convenient to Interstate. Cordial, professional desk help. Rooms are clean, well maintained. Breakfast is underwhelming but facility is well staffed. Grounds are immaculate. We would stay here again and go out for breakfast instead of wasting calories on machine-made food...

I stayed at this hotel on 4-08-24 as it was located just off of I-81. I booked the room using the Hilton app when I was about an hour away and decided that Martinsburg was where I wanted to spend the night. To provide some context, I have been a Hilton Diamond member for 10 years and have stayed in my fair share of Hilton brand hotels.|| ||As I was walking towards the lobby, I noticed a strong smell of weed in the parking lot. When I checked in at the front desk, I saw a display of drinks and snacks for Gold and Diamond members to choose from. However, the front desk clerk didn't offer me anything when I received my key and wished me a pleasant stay. When I asked if I could have a Coke, she replied that they only had Diet Coke, which I declined. I noticed that the store in the lobby had a refrigerator with over 30 regular Cokes inside, but I didn't say anything. || ||When I arrived in my assigned room, room 406, I found that it hadn't been cleaned. There were no linens on the beds, and there were trash bags on the floor. The bathroom was also in a terrible state.|| ||I went back down to the lobby and explained the situation to the female employee who checked me in. She reassigned me to room 306, but she didn't apologize for the inconvenience caused by the dirty room. The next morning, as I was looking for an ice machine to fill my water bottle, I heard some employees complaining about customers in a room adjacent to the store. It was easy to hear everything they were saying, and customers should never be subjected to such behavior.|| ||I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt that I should in this case. There are two other Hilton brand hotels off this exit, and I recommend staying at one of those instead.

Clean Room; Good Sleep. A good sleep in a smaller, compact room. The usual closest or wardrobe was replaced with hanging space along the outside wall. The room was clean but the cover over the light in the bathroom was missing. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect. The breakfast area was clean and the food was okay.

Visiting a friend in West Virginia and got a good rate for the three days that I was there. The staff is extremely friendly. One of the staff , Larry asked my dog’s name and he remembered it from the first day I gave it to him and always greeted him. “Judah “” Very good breakfast, clean, and the attendant, friendly and helpful. My room was clean and I felt safe there. I will be staying at other Hampton Inns!… Only one request, that they have an option for serving turkey, sausage or beef sausage but that’s it🙂

Positive: There was a new system so there was a bit of a line waiting to check-in but Autumn is always friendly and super-efficient in making sure you get the right room. Favorite thing about the hotel is the proximity to everything you might need for a short stay. Negative: Things were fine. If I had to nitpick, the heater/ac unit was loud and it would be really nice to have king-sized pillows on the king-sized bed. Negative: ""

We were traveling home from Florida and only stayed the night. The service at the reception desk was very friendly and they had chocolate chip cookies! Our room was attractive, comfortable, and clean. There were several places to eat within walking distance. We ate at the Msrtinsburg Family Diner, which was very good.
