Hampton Inn Kent/Akron Area - Featured Reviews (640)
Unless your just looking for a cheaper Hampton Inn, do not stay here. Starting from the outside: the landscaping is not maintained and trash was overflowing. Trying to check in was almost comical. The lobby smelled like Marijuana and there was noone behind the desk. A phone was set out stating to call 0 for assistance. So I did and a gentleman appeared. I am a diamond medallion member so typically get a bottle of water and a snack. Do not expect this at this location as it likely won't happen. The rooms were not cleaned well and there was a lot of hair all over the bathroom. Comforter had a stain and fridge was left open not holding temperature. Breakfast is slow and not a large variety or great quality. Coffee pot remained empty for an hour before being refilled causing several patrons to complain. No water at breakfast something else was hooked up to the water and poured out pink. No water in the gym or sanitizing wipes, not very clean. Anytime you need to ask for anything it feels like you are a burden to this staff. The gym was nice but would not stay here ever again.
Positive: "" Negative: I was there for 5 nights and housekeeping never entered my room. I had to get my own towels and empty my wastepaper baskets. I wanted to take a bath but could not because there was no stopper for the drain. On 2 occasions I requested one. No action
Had I read TripAdvisor reviews I'd not have stayed here, and will not again. My experience of staff is that they were pleasant, though lackadaisical. Almost nothing was up to expected minimal standards. The room did appear clean. Sheets were low quality. Mattress was ok. I use a rollator and so needed a room with roll in shower, which this was. Shower floor was slippery. Grab bars were sturdy. Bed, commode and chairs were all a height (not too low nor too high) that worked for me. The room was oddly configured. The easy chair was where wall hooks indicated no chair redirected and was not where the reading lamp was nor near outlets. A free standing closet on wall with reading lamp prevented the chair from being there though the desk chair worked when moved to that spot. The heavy easy chair prevented even my rollator, except when slightly collapsing it, let alone a wheelchair, from going between it and bench table into bedroom itself. Outlets, modern ones with USB, by bed didn't work though others did. The tv, with Spectrum, was mostly a mystery. Room temperature was comfortable and road noise did not intrude. Breakfast bar was inadequate. I was hesitant even to take a couple of wrapped bagels, though they were fresh and enjoyed. Displayed fruit was both on the way to mold and one prominently displayed mold. As others had noted incorrect billing I did review a printed receipt before confirming check out. Very conveniently located for a quick overnight from highway.
I don't travel but six or eight times a year but when I do, I prefer Hamptons if one is available. This Hampton is a notch below the norm for Hamptons. The pool was closed and the rooms' TV cable set-up is an absolute mystery. I don't know when I've ever been so frustrated that I felt like throwing the remote against the wall. The breakfast was not quite up to the Hampton standards, either. On a positive note, we slept well on a comfortable bed and the fitness center had some very good equipment, including ellipticals, treadmills and various weights.
More of the same. The renovations appear to be complete, however the service is still awful. Newly installed flooring causes room and bathroom doors to stick in places. Only one phone can install a room key. Breakfast was awful - very meager choices and what was there was stale or overcooked. Coffee urns empty, cereal dispensers empty, no waffle batter (for 3 days). When we went down to look at the pool, there were people who couldn't get out of the pool room because the door latch was broken. The water looked gross and very cloudy. Housekeeping never showed up (we were there 3 nights). Can't refer to front desk staff because they were never at the front desk. Not at all what I expect at a Hampton/Hilton property. Even the planters at the entrance were covered in brown carpet and cigarette butts instead of planted with flowers, The only good thing about this hotel was the convenient location.
Not my expectation for a Hampton, clearly needs some TLC. Before we even got to our room the floor outside the elevator was very slippery, almost fell a couple times coming and going. When we got to the room there was no hand soap, less than a half roll of toilet paper and the box of tissues was placed in a ceramic tissue holder but were all wet and stunk, kind of like they were dropped into the toilet! Had to go to the front desk to get more, no sorry about that, was just handed what I needed. The bathtub had mold showing around the tub and the bathroom door wouldnt latch. We typically stay at Hamptons because we know what to expect and always expect much better than this, this was the worse Hampton we've ever stayed at! Won't make that mistake again!
Would give a zero if I could. Made reservations online. When I arrived with 2 SMALL children was told there was no room for us. No one would help us. Always stayed at a Hampton. That will no longer be the case.
If you make reservations online make sure you call to check before you come here.
I’ve read thru all the bad reviews and decided to test it out for myself! I gotta say tho, most of the reviews I read seemed pretty petty. My experience was pretty expected from a Hilton hotel. Affordable and the service was fine. My room was cleaned by Michelle and she did an AMAZING job. Spotless. She was also very polite! Front desk was ok although the rest of the staff seem a bit lax it was still overall a good stay. The renovations look great the food was what you would expect from a hotel, and the location is great. Had some trouble with the room key but I wasn’t tripping too hard about it. Atmosphere seems pretty laidback for the most part. Again, it’s not perfect but it’s deff not worth the bad reviews by the last few petty customers as what I saw wasn’t close to what they said. Room Service for me by Michelle tbh is what brought the revise above and beyond in my opinion! Keep up the improvements!

I have been highly anticipating my visit to The Fruit Stand, and it did not disappoint! The fruit was fresh and delicious, and there were so many options to choose from on the menu. Customer service was off the charts as well. I cannot wait to recomm
Great fashion themed museum. Many fashions and accessories. Most from the late 1800âs through close to current. I really like how they tied in the fashion pieces with historical events. Not a large museum. Allow at least a full hour minimum, bu

Seen The Tubes Nov. 30th an incredible concert! The theater was nice though the restroom was overflowing. The Merchandise table was set up though no one selling Shirt?
Overall I an my crew enjoyed the concert wholeheartedly!
Very good somosas and naan. The chicken vindaloo was good and if you want spicy, order it Indian Extra Hot. The okra masala was a bit under-spiced and over poached.
Such a great, clean gym! Itâs so refreshing every visit being greeted with smiles and warm welcomes! Amber is always going above and beyond, her patience and composure is very honorable. Sheâs a very knowledgeable, professional young woman. Iâ

Beautiful Lake. I wish I had a house living next to it. Just know to anyone visiting, they're very strict about no fishing or any activities in the lake as it is protected drinking water. Don't be the one to get arrested for doing something stupid,
