Wow! We stayed at this hotel several years ago and weren’t looking forward to our overnight stay this week. We were shocked at how nice the hotel is after the remodel and how kind and professional all the staff members were. |The hotel is decorated for Christmas now and is very cozy and welcoming. The remodeled property is so much better than you would expect in tiny Kayenta. And the staff members were wonderful. Add this hotel to your list if you are on the road traveling or using as a home base to explore monument valley. Well done, Hampton!!!
The room was large and had a fridge and coffee maker. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The continental breakfast was really good. The gift shop had some cool and unique items and there is a restaurant in the hotel as well that had amazing authentic dishes! The Navajo taco and poblano stew were amazing! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pet friendly with a fee as well. Would recommend this hotel.
Staying here was never a consideration until,we had a disappointing experience in a nearby Inn. It was a treat to discover the attached restaurant which featured not just good food but great service. There was plenty of parking, and the room was clean, spacious, and well appointed. We will be back later this spring!
Keep in mind this is not a usual Hampton Inn! The land is owned by a Navajo Code Talker's family, and the inn has been around since 1990s. From the exterior to the interior, the building incorporate a lot of elements from the Navajo culture -- think of your stay as a cultural immersion! The owner also gives business revenue back to the Navajo nation.
Also the landowner save the lot next to the inn for cultural exhibition. It's a great place to learn more about the Navajo Nation, and the Code Talkers! Also, be sure to check out the Burger King next door. You'll see many WWII artifacts relevant to the Code Talkers.
This is the best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. I've stayed in many over the years, but this is far and away the best. Clean, bigger rooms, friendly staff. Full service restaurant off the lobby, obviously popular with the locals, and convenient for tired travelers. Of course the usual free breakfast, which was good and well stocked. Front desk staff helpful and knowledgeable. A nice side benefit: there is a small but very interesting exhibit about the Navajo Code Talkers from WWII inside the Burger King restaurant next door - don't miss it. Best Hampton Inn, a credit to the chain.
A beautiful, well-managed hotel. The quality of this hotel is unexpected in a small town like Kayenta. The lobby and breakfast areas are beautiful and inviting. All areas of the hotel are very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast had a varied menu, and all items were well-stocked and fresh. The only complaint is that the springs on the doors are very strong and slam when closing. It can be very loud when guests are arriving late. Our room was next to an exterior door that was frequently used, and continued to slam shut until about 11 o’clock in the evening. We had to consciously hold our own room door while it was closing to prevent it from slamming shut, so not to disturb other guests.
Rooms were ok. We had two queen bed rooms and it was a bit congested I felt compared to few other two queen rooms we have stayed in.
Breakfast was nice but the person replenishing the food was not very active. We had to ask several times to refill stuff and he finally did it. The guy acted as if we were asking for a favor while it was his duty.
But overall front desk was super helpful, breakfast items were good and hotel rooms were good too. I wish they would add a microwave to the rooms though.
A must stop location along your journey. Don't just stop at the thumb, come all the way out and enjoy an amazing view.
There's a sort walk out to the right that takes you to the best view point. But don't walk too far, the teachers check to make sure
we stayed here after checking the Hampton Inn's price of 228.00 and this one was way more affordable. the desk clerk was very nice and friendly, the rooms were nice, they even let up stay past 9pm in the laundry room to get our clothes washed and dri
