Room was cool when I checked in. It had a microwave and a mini-fridge. Mattress was very firm. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo with an anti-slip surface and grab bar. Water pressure was okay. The hotel had a small market with items for purchase and also offered a complimentary breakfast. There was complimentary parking as well.
I have stayed in Hampton Inns in the past. This had good reviews and was in an area close to shopping, Galena, etc. It was a let down. I walked into the bathroom upon checking in and there was multiple long black hairs on the floor. My Mom took a shower and the tub filled up and there was a wad of black hair in there. Thinking the shower was never cleaned?? The bottoms of my husbands feet were black in the morning after showering the night before. Needless to say we never took our shoes off the rest of the stay. I asked the front desk for a blanket and she said none were available. The breakfast was mediocre at best. They said they didn't have eggs available till the next delivery. The only plus is that we had a suite and had enough room to spread everything out.
I really wanted to love this place. Our suite was large, roomy, and clean. Beds were comfy and soft. Nice shampoo/conditioner/hand soap/lotion. Then the small things became annoying. ||No extra bedding in the room for sofa bed. It’s a suite! Keep enough bedding in the room for each bed. Had to call guest services (and go down to get it ourselves after a late checkin). ||In the morning, needed to replace the TP. Looked all over and no extra rolls found in the room. Had to call guest services and wait. ||Got in the shower and guess what? No shampoo (the shampoo/conditioner/body wash are a-fixed to the wall). Had to call guest services and wait. ||Again, none of this is a big deal, but a little annoying and inconvenient. ||Then went down to breakfast an hour before it ended. Things got worse. Only one employee working the kitchen and the poor guy was overwhelmed. They were out of eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffle mix, juice. Even worse? Coffee was out. All four coffee dispensers were empty. ||So many unhappy hotel guests. The poor worker said that he had made all the food and that just not enough was ordered ahead of time. ||They need to get the guy some help on the weekends. Plan ahead. They knew how many people were staying in the hotel this weekend. ||Again, nothing to ruin our stay, but just enough irritation to make us not want to stay here again.
Hampton Inn did not disappoint and Jojo went above and beyond to take care of me and get me an upgrade!! They had a good variety of breakfast and the hotel was nice and quiet at night. Hilton goes the extra mile to take care of their members!! Thank you!
Rooms were great and pretty clean (had a few cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom). The bed and bathroom counters though were clean and beds were not bad for a hotel. My room was fairly quiet.
Staff was friendly. Parking was good and location is nice due to how you’re located near fast food and departmental stores.
Pool was very good too along with the hot tub.

Thought this was a reasonable place to stay. Comfortable beds and a decent breakfast were good. Got unlucky enough to be in the room right next to where employees had to work early in the morning, so it got loud at that point. If you avoid being in that one specific room you’re probably in for a good stay though.
My wife and I are over from Scotland visiting our daughter and we all stayed here while visiting Galena. The hotel is in a convenient location for shops and restaurants and for travelling to Galena. It is well maintained and quiet with a nice pool, hot tub and fitness room.||Special mention must be made of Tanisha who was always helpful and set up and serviced our King Suite in a very customer focused manner and, importantly, always with a smile on her face. She is definitely an asset to both the hotel and Hilton.
