Hampton Inn DeBary/Deltona/Orange City - Hotel in DeBary - 308 Sunrise Blvd, USA

This is my second stay at this location. The first time November 2022 I had to change room because the bathroom toilet was not cleaned properly and it has visible feces still on the toilet. They changed the room promptly for me. I came back this year for the Central Legends Marathon and I only chose this location again because it is right down the road from the race site at Gemini Springs. When I arrived I had no idea the hotel was under major renovations with out of order signs in visible areas including the Gym that I was looking forward to use. There was stacks of boxes in the lobby area. The room was not as cleaned as it could've been. It has visible dirt build up on the sink and bathtub that you can tell wherever cleaned just rushed through. The room temperature was hot and I didn't feel comfortable in the hotel. The complimentary breakfast had limited selections and the tables you sit at were not clean and I went down at 6am. I feel the hotel should've let guests know that we are going over major renovations and some amenities will to be available so we could make a decision to stay there or cancel the reservation in a timely manner. This room was not worth $200 and because of bad experiences both times a year apart...I will not be able to utilize this hotel again. The only good thing was the front desk staff was nice.The only reason I didn't change hotels is because it was too late to get another room elsewhere due to the race.

Usually Hampton Inns are our first choice while traveling. I regret booking a room for 1 night here: they are “renovating” so no bathrooms when you arrive from on the road, no fitness area, the front desk area looks like a homeless encounter with the plastic & cardboard. The abbreviated breakfast nook was bearable because the young man servicing the area did an exceptional job! The room was not as clean as other Hampton Inns but maybe that was the construction/renovation fault as well.

I am frustrated with this hotel. They are in the middle of renovations. I get that it needs to be done. They do not have the business center available and cell reception is not great. That makes it hard to explore the internet for my next destination. I stay somewhere on my vacation, then that evening I plan my trip for the next day. That is difficult when you do not have good internet access. I also bring my own food when traveling to save on the cost of eating out. My room does not have a microwave. I had to go downstairs to use the microwave in the lobby. These are two things I assume I'll have at a Hampton Inn, and neither was available. In saying that the desk clerk was nice, and the room was nice. I just wish I knew ahead of time. It would also be nice if the price reflected these deficiencies.

Great location. Great service. Terrible bed. Because a bed should be one of the primary reasons to sleep in a hotel, most credibility is lost right away. They are simply older. It's ok that the room and halls are older. They are quaint. But a bed has an expiration date. Could feel the springs through the bed had not so good sleep. Compared to recent hotels I've been too I never had issues with their beds becuaythey are newer.

Positive: The room was well equipped, had a comfortable bed and the front desk clerk was very friendly. I did not take advantage of any amenities. Just needed a place to sleep.

Had to stay here one night with my 10 year old and 4 month old as a result of an emergency. When we arrived, my daughter wanted to use the pool so we walked over and she complained of green furry stuff on the bottom of the pool. We returned to the hotel room and the ac was at 68, I increased the temperature to 73 and our room began to smell funny. I called front desk and was told that there were no other rooms and the smell was not harmful and to instead, try putting the ac back down. So we were cold for the rest of the night. This morning, I came to speak with front desk and met Corey, a small unhappy man who insisted on explaining to me that my experience didn’t happen and how he personally observed the pool be “shocked.” What’s shocking is the quality of this hotel and how we spent nearly 150 dollars for a smelly, cold room and a slimy pool.

I was traveling to the airport, and the pick-up service was here. As it was very early in the morning they allowed me to sit inside, have coffee, and use the ladies room. Reception staff was very nice.
