Hampton Inn Clemson-University Area - Hotel in Clemson - 851 Tiger Blvd, USA

This is a great little hotel! It is very clean. The clerks are friendly. There is one in particular named Joy who is very outgoing and works hard to make sure you stay is as good as possible. She was always ready with a smile and information on local food and attractions. The rooms were much nicer that most Hampton Inns and they have even started to change the furniture to a very functional wall desk, storage combo which provided ample charging stations. Some of the rooms are lacking until the change is complete. I stayed in 2 different rooms in one week. (checked out and then checked back in because my trip was delayed). Overall a solid choice of accommodations. Great Job!

I have stayed at this hotel several times. On my last visit (May 11th) I was quoted a price of 440.00. This hotel usually runs about 110.00 per night. Upon checking in, I inquired about the price. I asked if I needed another room, how much it would be and they quoted me a price of 120.00. I explained everything to the front desk person, who was very polite, but she insisted that a rate change could only be done by the manager. Jerome, the manager, met me the following morning and said that he would look into it. He said he would do what he could to address the issue. He said that he would email me his information and anything else I would need. It has been 3 weeks and not a word. I called Hilton during this time, and they said because the front desk person checked me in that they couldn't do a rate reduction, only the manager, Jerome, could help with that. As a Hilton member who has stayed at this Hampton Inn many times, I was met with nothing but lies. I will do everything I can to NEVER stay at this Hampton inn again. Dondre Cheatham

Our room was very moist and smelly and the bed was very uncomfortable. We will pick somewhere different next time. We did enjoy the pool though.

Staff is very very nice and I think the rooms are reasonably clean. However, the rooms desperately need remodeling. Look old, smell old. Checked in again on 4/5/23 and I had to change rooms because the blinds were broken, phone was broken, and 2 of the three lamps didn’t work. It’s was like being in a cave. They did relocate me but in the new room the door security bracket was broken. It’s like something doesn’t work in every room I’ve stayed in here. The pool water was green. This is my last stay here.

Perfect place to spend the night if you have a boat and don't want to drive back to Greenville.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were only so-so. Our room had a damp odor to it and cleaning could have been improved as I found some old contact lenses stuck to the wall of the shower and grime in the toilet. Breakfast was okay and offered limited continental fare but if you're craving something more substantial, the hotel is conveniently located and has lots of dining options nearby.

My room was on the 4th floor and upon my entrance there many dead bugs in the lamp above right when you enter. It immediately gave "motel" vibes as this was a first for me for a Hilton.. After eating dinner, I saw a roach on top of one of the light stands. I killed it and then went to the front desk to see what could be done. The front desk lady was nice but didn't really seem apologetic about the matter and was saying she could try to book me to another room. I told her I would think about it.. I went back to the room and did a heavy inspection of the whole room.. I was going to stay but then I checked underneath the A/C and it was filled with dead bugs and dark fecal matter.. I immediately packed my stuff and asked to be moved to another. I was then moved to the 2nd floor and once again there were dead bugs on the light lamp upon entering.. I did a heavy inspection and saw no roaches but the following night, I saw a stink bug near the light lamp by the entrance. I called again to let them I'm seeing bugs. I was a bit dissapointed about the cleanliness of the hotel. I would highly, highly encourage the general manager to ensure that a deep clean be done in the rooms and to AT LEAST clean the lamps. The dead bugs give the rooms a very unprofessional look. I decided to go to Hampton Inn & Suites Seneca-Clemson area and the rooms looked a lot cleaner. I will say on the positive side, that the hotel is at a great location with lots of food options, but that's about the only plus. The staff were nice as well..

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels. Hilton properties have traditionally been reliable and consistent as far as quality. Loved the check in/out and digital key via the app. This set my expectations pretty high for room quality. The room has not been updated in a long time (except the carpet). The pillows were so tiny and soft that my husband had to use his jeans to support his head. This is a college students hotel and it looks like it. The common areas were very clean and proximity to campus (and a Starbucks if that’s your thing) is unmatched.
