Hampton Inn Bartow - Hotel in Bartow - 205 Old Bartow Eagle Lake Rd, USA

Had to contact Corporate office at Hilton to advise of their front desk manager (KHALILIAH )she is RUDE, RACIST ,LACKS CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS , several encounters i have had with her and when i found out she was a manger i could not believe this is the face of their hotel . Everyone else is so helpful and make the hotel so pleasant. The good thing is after you check in she leaves. she just make the check in process HORRIBLE. HOPEFULLY MANAGEMENT TAKES CARE OF THIS BESIDES THAT HOTEL IS IN A GREAT LOCATION.ROOMS NEED TO BE UPDATED AND CLEANED SO ITS NOT MUSTY AS THEY HAVE AC ISSUES , HOUSEKEEPING MAY NEED HELP SO THE ROOMS ARE PROPERLY CLEANED. BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD .

My kid's and I have been staying at this hotel for several years during our summer vacation. Unfortunately, we will not be able to stay here any longer. With each passing year, the hotel falls more into disrepair. And this year we were fending for ourselves to find what we needed. ||Examples:||Guest guides, pen, paper? No longer in the room. ||Shade by the pool (a basic umbrella) to watch your kids? No longer available. ||TV channel guide? I was told they changed providers and didn't know what the channel lineup was. You have basic TV but do not know what is on. ||Heating / Cooling? The thermostat was broken and we were told to use the controls on the unit by the window. This was not shared during check-in however. ||Wi-Fi? Hit and miss. We had to resort to using the business center downstairs to do something simple as we could not stay connected in the room. The front desk did provide a promo code for the paid / upgraded Wi-Fi but we were told that it probably wouldn't make a difference. Very encouraging. ||Hotel rooms including these used to be cleaned properly every day. We were there 8 days and the room was serviced twice. Even every other day didn't happen. The first day it was cleaned our door was left open by the cleaning staff as it doesn't close and lock unless you give it a good yank. Each day we emptied our own garbage and tried to find clean towels. ||The rooms and the hotel in general are in desperate need of a deep cleaning. It is readily apparent that costs have been cut and staffing has been reduced. But you can cut too far and that is clearly the case here. What was once a pleasant and relaxing destination has turned into constant frustration. There is mold on the blinds, mold on the wall, and mold (or burn marks) by the light switch. The laundry facility still takes 8 quarters for a load of laundry or to use the dryer. There is no change machine. And the front desk has no change. We were told at 10:30 PM to drive to laundry mat in the shopping center next door. OK. Laundry mat was closed. ||The maintenance man who unclogged our sink was very helpful but obviously can only do so much.

Great breakfast. Courteous staff. MUSTY rooms (several guests in my group said the same). I’ll avoid it if I can mainly due to DAMP room. I think they have an HVAC problem. But pickings are slim in Bartow!

I had a reservation months in advance for my stay June 20th, when I got there , they said it was cancelled and gave me another reservation confirmation, because someone told them to put the stay on his account. When I reserved it was one price after they changed my reservation I was given another price. I have contacted them and I get no reply or email response. The room was not cleaned the days I stayed there. The rest of the group I was with had complaints of no towels and dirty rooms.

No room service. No trash pickup. No clean towels available - we were told to use bath mats to dry off after bathing. We were there 3 nights! |We notified the front desk and the general manager of the hotel - and they were no help. |I was a loyal Hampton Inn visitor, but no longer because of this experience. |Worst hotel stay ever!!!

Stayed at this location last year with immaculate service. It the reason I chose to stay here again. This visit? Mediocre at best... And thats being gracious. On arrival, the ice machines were broken on the 4th and 3rd floor meaning i had to go to the 2nd floor. Third day in, the 2nd floor machine went down. My stay was for 2 weeks and they stayed that way (the 2nd floor was fixed my last night). That's the least of it. Being extended stay, i understand most hotels do linen service every other day. But, my room was overlooked on several days, multiple occasions even after reporting to the front desk. Multiple times i received no linen exchange, nor cleaning, nor trash removal. Twice i had trash not claimed three days in a row. The first weekend i stayed there, housekeeping eventually got to my room. The attendant asked me if i could round up my trash?! (excuse me? What do your employees do). On other days the trash was never picked up, I even bagged the trash for them (since they cant round it up) and it was still not picked up! The first time i brought it to the mgmt attention, linen and bed service happened, but they bypassed the trash right next to the door. Bed service? Why even make the bed? See pics. On the last night, i brought the issues again to the front desk (as it happened again. The housekeeping was on the floor and got to two rooms down (well after 330pm), but then seemed to just forget my room and leave. The only tolerable thing about my stay was the breakfast, but even some of the hot foods seemed not up to temp. Given all this, i highly doubt ill stay at the Hampton Inn Bartow ever again. Ill just go to the Holiday Inn Express.

Nice clean rooms, great breakfast, and friendly people.....Some minor maintenence problems with the room that needed to be fixed but they took care of it. Would stay again for sure! Highly recommend this hotel.

We were so disappointed in our experience recently having stayed at this property several times in the past. Our past stays were very enjoyable but not this time. Upon arrival, we noticed that the grounds were kept up and beautiful and the desk clerk welcoming. It went down hill from there.|The hotel is in dire need of a deep cleaning. The carpet in the hallways and in our room were heavily stained and appeared to have not been vacuumed in some time. Only one of the two elevators worked and the floor of the elevator as well as the floor of the breakfast area in need of mopping. In our room, we found that the pump for the bath gel did not work nor was there any conditioner in the dispenser in the shower. Again, a reflection on the housekeeping.|Particularly bothersome was we were given a note upon checking in around 2:00 PM that the water was not safe to drink. When we returned to the lobby around 3:00, we were told that the water was now safe. I asked about the ice in the ice makers and was told not to use it since it was made with unsafe water. I asked if the ice makers would be purged and was told there was no one with maintenance on the property on Sunday but was assured the machines would be purged first thing Monday morning. Of course this did not happen and when we checked out late Monday morning, there was still no ice for consumption purposes. As further indication of the overall attitude, when asked about ice, the clerk told us we could go to a gas station and buy a bag of ice. I don't think hotel guests should have to do so. I don't blame the hotel for the water problem but do for their failure to take care of their guests.|On the subject of "guests", I noticed a car in the parking lot in which an individual was seated for an extended period of time when we checked in Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning, several young men came into the breakfast room and proceeded to pack their pockets with food and piled food onto plates. They walked straight out of the hotel to the car which was parked in the same place and sat down on the ground in the parking lot with their backpacks and ate their food while discarding their trash making a mess. One left walking with his backpack and the other got into the front seat of the same car where he remained for an extended time. As a retired drug prosecutor with over 35 years of experience, I was very suspicious of this activity and brought this activity to attention of the front desk clerk who walked outside and then returned and told me the driver was a "guest" at the hotel. I was able to watch this activity from our room window and well as from the parking lot and it is certainly of concern for my family's wellbeing if allowed to go on, "guest" or not. The clerk was honest with me in saying they have to "no trespass" people all the time.|I hate that this property is in the condition it is in since it is much closer to family than the other Hilton properties in South Lakeland but we will make the short drive in the future from those properties and not stay in Bartow.
