Hampton Inn & Suites Springfield-Southwest - Hotel in Springfield - 2300 Chuckwagon Dr, USA

My sister and I took a long weekend trip to visit and go to the IL State Fair. This was my first time staying at this hotel. The location was very convenient to the fair and many other stores. The staff were very nice and accommodating from the moment that we walked into the door. They provide free small water bottles for everyone at the front door. The room was clean, a little outdated, but overall no complaints! The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and there were many varieties of food to choose from. Each day had different options as well, which was much appreciated! The pool area was clean and relaxing. I will definitely stay again when I visit next year!

This is my first time here; I like this hotel. They are friendly at the desk, they give bottles of water when you ask, which I really like in a Hilton hotel. The room is really nice; I love the layout, which is different from the regular room. The bed is comfortable and the Wi-Fi is great. I will plan on staying here again.

At first when we entered the our room it looked small and out-of-date, but we warmed up to it. Our stay was 3 nights. The Pros: Shower was amazing! Staff was quick to get us more towels upon request. We could control the thermostat . Sleeping and breakfast were decent. Breakfast had a good variety: waffle station and coffee bar. Breakfast staff and front desk staff were kind. Cons: Our door made a loud noise when opening and closing. The 1st night had to get used to noises of air conditioner going on and off. The bathroom was not as clean as it could be; I had to wipe up some obvious urine under the toilet seat with lysol wipes. I would say overall a great stay. They have a pool on 1st floor, but no hot tub, plus restrooms in the hallways. There are ice and vending machines on each floor. The hotel is in good proximity to the capital, Lincoln's home and the Lincoln museum, about 10 mins and all located in downtown. His Tomb is about the same distance, but North direction. Route 66 Motorhead Restaurant was South about 10 mins, bit did not think the meal was that great. If you want a simple meal and assortment, Bob Evans is 2 mins from the hotel. If you could only see one thing, see Lincoln's Presidental Museum. You will not be disappointed! It will take 2.5-3 hours to tour. Closes at 5 so plan accordingly. Capital was a short tour , about 20 mins. We stayed about an hour to look around after. The Illinois Museum was okay. Took about 40 mins. The Carriage Restaurant had awesome sweet potatoes and wraps. The Obed and Isaac's Pub and Restaurant had delicious pulled beef tacos. Recommended eateries for downtown. Scoop Dejour is cute ice cream parlor about 5 mins from hotel. The Mall is not too far either if you need to walk those calories off and stay coo! lGreat hotel for family! Camping World is across the street and another hotel right behind the Hampton Inn. Overall, quiet and safe.

Out dated, not well|Maintained, friendly staff|but no one takes responsibility.|Staffs were friendly and good with directions and food information in the area. |Asked to have room refreshed daily when checking in and told no problem. The front desk clerk says he would put in a note. Came back from sightseeing the next day the room was not refreshed. No one was around since it was early afternoon but clean towels were provided. |When first walked into the king bed suite the tile floor was|sticky and the phone in the sitting area was not working. |Floor was cleaned but|Phone never work after informing the dront desk TIWCE!|Very poorly maintained hotel:|Carpet is old and dirty. |Table corner is chipped. |Ceiling is dirty and never been cleaned, you have spider webs!|It is a shame this is a Hilton brand. What a disappoint!

My 10--year-old grandson and I agreed this was the best hotel free breakfast bar we've ever been too! Egg fritatas. Begal toppers. FRESH sliced fruit bowls. Crispy not soggy bacon. etc, etc. Also, Chelsea, The Breakfast Lady, flitted about and kept everything clean, fresh, and neat! She was great.

It was nice that 1 of our rooms got upgraded to a suite, but the rooms were horrible. Both suites smelled like mildew, and the carpets didn't look like they were cleaned in years. My daughter stayed in the other suite, and she said that the beds smelled like pee. Great location for the hotel but disappointed on overall cleanliness. I do not recommend.

Cleanliness is SO important when I'm looking for hotels when traveling, and honestly, this was one of the cleanest ones I've been to in some time. We were traveling with our dog too, which Hampton requires an extra fee- but it was worth it. Front desk was so nice, and we could tell staff cared about the quality of services provided.

Room is outdated. Doesn't smell if the AC is running all the time. Smell is not strong but noticeable. Bathroom light is insufficient. Reception staff was extremely accommodating. We stayed 1 night. Dirty carpet. Large room. Breakfast had fresh fruit. Didn't love it. Definitely not what I would expect from Hampton .. a Hilton BRand. Bathroom counter is chipped.
