Hampton Inn & Suites Oakland Airport-Alameda - Hotel in Alameda - 1700 Harbor Bay Pkwy, USA

Very pleased with everything. The location is very close to Oakland Airport. Excellent service from Front desk to the Chef who stayed open for a rew minutes to feed 3 tired, hungry guests. Rooms are clean, well lit, kept clean. Staff is helpful, polite, friendly. Will recommend this Hampton Inn to friends and family. Very nice blend of comfort, value and service. Thank you. Much better than Aloft Hotel in Philly which is a complete contrast.

We stayed at this hotel before an early morning flight for convenience. After reading the reviews I felt this was our best option.||We checked in around 8:30 pm. After the front desk clerk gave us our room keys I mentioned to her that we needed to reserve the shuttle van to the airport. She asked me for our names and room numbers after just checking us in one minute ago.||The bar was closed for some reason. ||The room was dark and in desperate need of updating. The only positive was the bed was extremely comfortable!||I would have expected more from a Hilton property.

Arrived after midnight for my check in, overnight desk staff asked if I knew about credit card for incidentals. I told her I was unaware and that my room was fully paid for. She told me no worries and that I could go to my room with no issue. Upon entering my room on 1 st floo I immediately noticed that my WIFI lost all bars. I went to desk employee offered me the wifi code. However there was no internet connection on WiFi due to a weak signal. I asked at 430 vid I move rooms since I had upcoming work classroom work I needed to do remote at 6-8 am. I was told I would have to wait for rooms to be cleaned. The morning front desk employee was in place at 7 am told her my issues and she resolved it without me having to speak with the manager which I had requested at 430am. I did have to add credit card for incidentals no problem.🥹 I chose this hotel for convenience for my personal trip to Oakland and it was basically next door to the airport. The restaurant was closed and a sign posted at the desk, so I had to scramble for food and order off of Door Dash. My dash plan that's in effective when I'm home comes with free food delivery at minimum thresholds. Well in Oakland I had to pay delivery fees and taxes, more cost for me as consumer of this hotel.😲 In addition they advertise they have Free Bikes, nope this program is not in place but they area advertising this as a actual amenity,,,on several different platforms and apps, trickery☹️ I was cold in my room couldn't get the heat to come on just turned the AC off for my 3 day stay. I loved watching the plans take off from the benches in the smoking area outside. And Breakfast had a array of selections, the scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage made up for some of the things that went wrong. The hotel is adjacent to a trail which was also wonderful to walk along the bay and look over into San Francisco. Overall great stay they just need to update their web pages for things like bikes and put a disclaimer that hotel restaurant may it may not be completely functional at certain times. And I was charged for shuttle to hotel when they say it's free, too many discrepancies. However I will stay else where in my upcoming trip to this area.

Rooms are clean, and the desk staff is professional. Glad we stayed here as we passed through OAK. This worked well for one night stays. It felt safer staying here than on the other side of the airport. Plus the runway noise isn't that noticeable. The only downside is the 10 dollar charge for the shuttle plus we had to call or request the shuttle each time even though it runs 24 hrs a day. Regardless, we will use this location the next time we are in the area.

Stayed at this property many times and never had an issue! Have always enjoyed my stay here but this past stay we got our Dodge Durango stolen from the parking lot. It’s a quiet business park area out behind Oakland airport near the water and we’ve never seemed to have any issues with anything like this but unfortunately it is Oakland!

I stayed here for one night with my wife and baby. Checked in around mid night and checked out in morning. Intention was to get a clean hotel to spend night and it was served well. Room: Room was decent, clean. bathroom was good. There was no refrigrator or microwave in room. In morning lady at check-in desk helped in accessing kitchen microwave to warm milk for baby. Breakfast; Breakfast was included in price. It was good standard breakfast we get in hotels. Locality: I read reviews about safety issues in this area. But I didn’t see anything concerning in whatever time I was there. Infact Police car was parked at front door. Area is quite as exepected. Didn’t hear noise( even it’s close to airport). Overall good stay!

Update: the general manager, Nicole, said she would give us a refund for our $236 park and fly bill. She indicated that they gave the refund as a courtesy, not obligation. The general manager was empathetic and professional. DO NOT PARK AND FLY! YOUR CAR WILL BE STOLEN! They have a locked gated area in back of the hotel that the staff did NOT offer when I arrived. The assistant manager, Jovy, had the audacity to tell me that they just jump the fence anyway when I asked her why it wasn't offered. There was literally one car back there in the gated area. They are setting customers up for thieves. You will be parking at your own risk. DONT STAY HERE!!!

The cleaning staff are always wonderful! Super sweet ladies. The area is alright, break ins here and there but overall a semi good area. I was upset to find out one of the front desk ladies had recently quit! Anytime I would stay here or at home2 I looked forward to talking to Maria, the young lady with black short hair! She was always very welcoming and was a wonderful person to my kids and wife! I come to find out she quit due to poor management! If you have good people wanting to leave or LEAVING, then the owners should really look into the real problem. The three managers feel entitled, the way they talk and act towards their employees is inauthentic in every way. Frankly speaking, talking trash as they eat in the lobby is inappropriate and embarrassing. Didn’t hear it once or twice but my wife and I have both heard them speak badly about their employees SEVERAL times. Seriously Hampton, find better management before those little mean girls run this place to the ground. Hopefully next time I come and stay, I won’t see a whole new set of Front desk. They are the soul and personality of this place.
