Rooms were clean, but the shades were not functional, the room microwave did not work and the alarm clock had something wrong with it. Staff was friendly, helpful, and available. Breakfast was good, enough choices for everyone to enjoy. Pool was clean, but the hot tub was out of order. Evening coffee was cold.
The hotel is very comfortable. Quick and easy off the highway. The staff is friendly and very nice. All travel needs are also close including WalMart and gas stations.||After being here at this hotel for a month so far, I needed to extend my stay and checked earlier this week about it. Unfortunately I was having to check out due to a large group coming in and was told the hotel was fully booked up. As a regular traveler, I asked every day if their happened to be an opening. I walked by this evening and I asked if they were still full booked and if so, that I would be moving next door to the Holiday Inn (Boo) tomorrow. and needed a late check out.|Sara was working and she said she was sorry that I was going next door but that she would see if something changed. I was happy to find out that I am now staying until I check out later next week. Thank You Sara !||Unknowing to anyone else, I have to return for another 2-4 weeks later on and I wasn't planning to stay here after I was being inconvenienced when I first originally asked. |So, thank you Sara for keeping me at your hotel for the rest of this stay, and earning my return stay when I come back. Being in customer service myself, it feels good when I receive great customer service. Thank You !
The service and staff were absolutely wonderful. The breakfast bar each money was well cared for and a staff member was checking often for refills or needs to the area. The eggs and meat selection changed day to day which was nice as well. The fresh coffee that was out 24/7 was actually very tasty. The only reason for a 9/10 is that the bathroom in our King suite was tiny and looked old. Additionally we used the pool and it could use vacuumed and the hot tub had been drained but wasn't closed off, making a hazardous situation for those with children. We will likely stay here the next time we visit Marshalltown. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
The front desk attendant was incredibly hostile Friday evening (12/22) We were in town for a funeral and we were confused on pricing, as it sounded like we were charged much much more than what we were quoted. This wasn't the end of the world for us financially, but I was still hoping for clarification and correction if we were charged more on accident. When I went down to the front desk to ask (very calmly and politely) for information, the front desk attendant snapped saying "you need to calm down". Throughout the conversation I had to calm HER down.. All of this happened during a funeral over Christmas time, which the staff was aware of, to make it all worse... Im just sad this was our experience...
Our first impression of the hotel was made by Allison at the front desk. She was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Allison answered all of our questions and even went out of her way to put me in touch with the local taxi service. The next morning, the great stay was continued with Jeanette at the breakfast area. I love her!! Please recognize these fine employees that made our stay wonderful.
The hotel was nice. The room was clean and nice I had issues with the staff servicing my room. Once I asked several times the room finally got serviced not in a timely manner. And when they did the toilet paper and shampoo was not replaced. I had to go get little bottles at front desk. 😩
Great place to stay when in Marshalltown Iowa area. Within walking distance to Applebee's restaurant (a great place to get a Bud). Great Breakfast area with many choices to eat. The waffles are a favorite. Rooms are comfortable, quiet, and clean. It is kind of disturbing that when staying two nights room service does Not automatically provide clean towels daily (unless you specifically request this service at the front desk).
I cant say enough good things about this hotel. We stay here every time we are in town visiting family (for the last 10 years) and it will forever be where we stay. The hotel is SO clean, the rooms are nice, beds are comfy and the staff is amazingly attentive and sweet. Best hotel I've ever stayed in, seriously!

The best cinnamon rolls in Iowa are right here at West End Perk! I used to live in Marshalltown and every time I come back, I have to come have that cinnamon roll and a caramel-vanilla latte. The owner is fabulous and is in house every day. And don'
As always, the food here is amazing! One of the great things about sub city is the freshness and the speed. The prices are good for the food you get. Only downside is that it's cash only, but there is an ATM in the store next door.
Purchased a bed frame along with a mattress from Slumberland. Felipe was the one to help me pick out a bed and provide details about the bed I was looking at. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and very satisfied with slumberland. Good prices
What a nice surprise in this small diner! The owner is very friendly and hard working taking orders, greeting customers and serving hot coffee! As my son said " OMG this is the BEST breakfast ever!" The pancake was big and the eggs taste like fresh
This was the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had!! The salsa is so fresh and FLAVORFUL! I had no idea the blatant difference between just-made salsa and the stuff that's served till it runs out. The tacos--delicious. I was full after 3, but t
