Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island - Hotel in Jekyll Island - 200 S Beachview Dr, USA

We've been staying at this property for several years now for our annual trip to the island and we usually love it. Normally the breakfast is delicious. I was so excited when I realized what room we had this year with a great location for the pool and main floor. Unfortunately this will be our last year staying at this hotel. It seems maintenance is not being kept up with on this newer hotel. Ceiling tiles were missing with buckets underneath to catch any leaks in the hallway. The worst part was the horrible rock hard beds. We normally enjoy the beds but I'm not sure what was wrong this time. We tried taking all the covers from both beds to build some cushion but to my dismay it didn't make a difference. I ended up having to lay on the couch to get any sleep at all. We were in so much pain after staying here that we needed a trip to the chiropractor. The breakfast had a strange taste and texture to most of the items. The hot tub was nicer than normal but it just didn't make up for all the other issues with this visit.

My husband surprised me with a room. Our check in was so easy and we were informed of a free shuttle for the island. Free breakfast was eggs, seasoned potatoes, turkey sausage, two types of waffles and the remaining standards. Coffee extras were very nice. The pool IS heated! They also have a hot tub and kids pool (1-1.5 ft deep; it was not open during our visit). Our room was so spacious and clean. Al the staff we interacted with were above nice and helpful. The small walk from the pool area to the beach is beautiful! A full 5 stars from this family for a glorious visit.

This location sits on the beach of Jekyll Island. When selecting my room via the mobile check-in, I chose an ocean front room with a balcony. However, when I arrived, the bushes have grown so high there was no view of the ocean. Keep in mind I am on the highest floor of the hotel. I had a co-worker complain stating they had the same experience and requested their room be changed. The furniture in the room is old and appears to be from the late 1900s to early 2000s. One piece of furniture was puckered up from water damage. It appeared to be a spot from where a refrigerator once sit. That's not the worst part, I wake up to take a shower and the shower head is filthy with black mold looking stuff on it. I advised the manager of this. She was sincerely apologetic and advised she would make sure it would be taken care of. When I arrived that afternoon the shower head was replaced, they care of the oxidation from the bathroom sink from the salt water, and the room was extra clean. Because this location has a 100% Guarantee policy, I was supposed to be compensated for my inconvenience. I personally asked the manager that morning to provide the compensation via points. After about two weeks I realized the points were never added to my account. On two occasions I called the location to speak with manager and she was not available. On one occasion I provided my phone number and was told she will call me back. On another occasion, I was told she would be adding the points to my account. Unfortunately, I have not received a call or the points and visited this location November 5-8. Had this been handled better, they would definitely have higher rating for service. If the bushes (not trees) had not overgrown my view of the ocean I would have given a higher rating for the location.

Great comfortable beds. Seems to be older motel. Shower was ok if you like medium heat. Door to patio would not open. Breakfast was basically different all 3 days with different meats. we still enjoyed it very much and will go again.

For a Hampton, this was great and everything was as expected! The pool was heated and the hot tub was very hot, we went everyday! Breakfast was tidy and the three hot foods changed each day which was nice. My standards are low for hotel food and high for just about everywhere else I spend money for food. We were fed and it got us through, which was exactly what we were looking for. Oh, and bonus for kiddos, the pool has a beach style walk in and 3 1/2 feet for quite a ways so they had a large space to play! And not scary for the parents! 🙌

This hotel was comfortable and clean. The only hitches were that the water was turned off for a repair, but it was back on pretty quick, and the television had NO local channels. That was strange. No news or weather available. Only one clerk to handle phones and live customers. Decent, but you get what you pay for and it was inexpensive.

I am in the beginning of a two-week road trip. Normally, I prefer this hotel chain. I have been to Jekyll Island before, but this was my first time staying here. I will never stay anywhere else on Jekyll Island. Wow! The building, the room, the grounds, the free parking, the free shuttle, the short boardwalk to the beach, the convenient location, and most definitely, the price are all reasons to stay here. Last night I stayed in a room at a highway exit for twice as much as this room cost and this room was twice as nice. I'm almost thinking of extending my stay. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend staying here. The only negative is that I couldn't turn the air cooler than 66 degrees. I tend to run hot, and I like it cool, especially at night. Fortunately, it is winter, and I left the balcony door open.

Rooms comfortable, variety of pillows, nice bed and bedding. Lay out of room works well. GREATLY appreciate that the room doors to the hallway can be propped open for ease in moving in cart! Thank you. Ruby is a bonus and does a great job preparing breakfast.
