Hampton Inn and Suites Columbus Scioto Downs - Hotel in Lockbourne - 5950 S High St, USA

We arrived at the hotel and from the outside appearance it looked to be a nice clean hotel. We got a king size suite expecting a restful night. First the hotel was extremely hot. After entering our room it was hot as well and we tried to turn the air down but it would only allow the temperature to 69 and never did it get close to 69 degrees. My wife and I were extremely tired so we tried to make the best of the hot room and still get some rest. Around 1 am we got a rude awakening. There was such an overwhelming smell of sewage that it woke us up. After speaking to the desk clerk he let us know the smell was everywhere and there wasn’t nothing that he could do. So at 1:30 am we packed our things and left because we absolutely couldn’t stand the smell combined with the heat in the room. When we notified the front desk we were leaving and asked for a partial refund we were told that he would make a note but that they won’t do anything. So please if you have a issue with sewage smells and a hot room find another hotel because you will not get any rest and a sick stomach.

Everywhere in the hotel was so hot. We turned the air as low as it could go and our room stayed at 71 the entire weekend. The lobby, hallways, and pool room were very warm. Besides that the rooms were clean and fine, but the pillows were extremely small. Breakfast had plenty of options and changed each day. All the staff encountered were nice and friendly The hotel is connected to the Casino but we didn't go. They allow pets

Positive: Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, adjacent to the casino, excellent breakfast. Negative: Loved this hotel! There were just a few issues with the shower. We informed the staff and they were pleased that we let them know. An overall wonderful experience.

I was so impressed with this hotel. When I called to reserve a room, Dillon was amazing. He was so polite and helped me to find a price and room that was perfect for me. He truly understands what hospitality means and his smile is so welcoming. The room was beautiful, inviting and clean. We really enjoyed the warm pool and the delicious breakfast. Christina was also very helpful upon checkout. This is a top notch hotel and I will recommend it to everyone I know.

The location has to be the best for access to the casino and if you can't or don't want a site in Columbus- BUT the room was on the lower end of the Hampton Chaim. The room misses, no microwave, the soap holder was cracked and the shower door would not stay closed on its own. I'm not a fan of the low flow shower heads, and this one took twice as long to rinse my hair as most! The stench in the halls is so overwhelming it had my husband coughing from the intense odor. The smell was similiar to the car spray "cheap cologne" smell. This was so overdone, I'm not sure what it was trying to cover up, but for anyone with breathing issues, this is a deterrent. The lady checking us in was friendly and welcoming. I'm not sure I would stay here again unless I was making an evening of the casino, there are more and better options close by. Breakfast was okay- it was standard Hilton fare- not thing extra. In all fairness the breakfast offerings at these places rate okay. I wanted something other than a red apple or orange. The location and service were excellent.

Good but room 407 needs some deeper cleaning. I'm all about the cleanliness of a room, without getting crazy. I realize there will be dings and dents around doors but this isn't my complaint for room 407. Attached are pictures showing the base of the toilet, shower caulk, bugs or debris in the bathroom light fixture and crumbs left in the microwave. A little deeper cleaning would change this from 4 to 5 stars in my opinion.

fit perfectly for my trip. convenience, great breakfast , accomodating, friendly staff. gave me 1st floor cause i'm an old geezer. sure could have used a massage chair in the workout room. ( suggest a coin-operated chair) will return there next trip !!

We visit Scioto Downs Casino in Columbus about once a month and always spend at least a night at the Hampton, which is connected to the Casino. In addition to the convenient location, we have found the accommodations and the service to be excellent. We like a room as close to the elevators as possible due to some mobility issues, and that request has always been granted. The Hampton is as good (or better) than any hotel/motel we've ever experienced.
