Hampton Inn & Suites Clayton/St. Louis-Galleria Area - Hotel in Clayton - 216 N Meramec Ave, USA

I made the reservation and paid for the room at that time. Checked in with my reservation and was told of an additional parking charge. I told the desk clerk I was a AARP member because the hotel advertises free parking for AARP members. By the way, there is ample free parking on the street in front of the hotel. Hotel was newer, and clean. Later I saw the hotel had billed me for my room again for the second time plus a parking fee. I then verified that the room was already paid for when I made the reservation and called the hotel. The hotel refused to refund the parking fee and said they would refund the second charge for the hotel room. Instead the hotel charged me again for the third time for the hotel room and parking and then reversed the charges for the third time charges. I called Hilton Honors who promised I would be contacted within three days. One week later, still no one contacted me. I saw that my credit card was credited for the second hotel room charge but still no credit for the parking fee. I have now spent more time cleaning up their mess than I spent in the hotel.

We recently booked a room last minute to attend a family funeral. The customer service was terrific. Our (adult) children were able to join us last minute and their Patricia went above and beyond to accommodate us. Each staff member we encountered was kind and friendly. They even allowed us to use their breakfast lounge to have food brought in for (20) family, friends and out of town guests. The rooms were spotless. The location was perfect with restaurants, a grocery store and shops within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again and will look for a Hampton Inn in other cities we travel to.

I’m a gold member that almost exclusively stays at Hampton Inns, and this is the worst experience I've had from a generally consistent brand of hotels. Upon check in, I had to wait a few minutes to get acknowledged and receive service. A man was restocking the waters while I waited and the manager on duty was just hanging out in their office. Funny enough I still didn’t receive a water for being an honors member. After returning back from my evening plans, I was going to stop by to get an extra pillow and water bottles but after waiting for multiple minutes, no one showed up. Not sure what the front desk staff is doing at this location. Once getting into the room, I continued to be underwhelmed. The tub had a soft spot that was brown and water would collect. There was a puddle in there when I arrived, and used towel hanging on the back of the door. Also, there is a solid inch gap between the floor and the door that shines light through and allows all hallway noise into the room. Despite being in a more boring/quiet side of town, I heard more disruptive noise in my room than most places because of this. The breakfast is fine, nothing better or worse than any other Hampton…but both of the coffee dispensers were completely out which kind of just continued the theme of service, or lack thereof.

Great hotel for a quick stay, especially if you have activities at Wash U. The location is great because it’s on a fairly quiet street and it’s easy to walk to a lot of restaurants nearby and even a fancy grocery store. It’s clean, the service is great, and there’s plenty of parking. The gym here is also better than most hotels, especially for one that’s on the smaller side. The breakfast is a little lackluster but it has everything you need. Another small but nice thing is that they emailed the receipt to me the morning of checkout so that I didn’t have to go get it at the front desk or ever question the total—nice touch. I will stay here again.

I’ve never been treated with such kindness and respect, and just the upmost care as we’ve been treated at this hotel. We are here for a memorial and also my mother‘s birthday happened to fall during this time and the care and love that has been shown is wild and wonderful! And you guys don’t even KNOW us! What an incredible testament you guys are to what it’s truly like to see humans and be humans!

I stayed here four night while on a business trip. The hotel is impeccably clean, the rooms updated, the fitness room was well equipped. The breakfast area is large and stocked with everything you could imagine. They even had breakfast to go bags that I saw multiple families taking advantage of for their young children. When I checked out I told the front desk that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at, and that I travel monthly for business. Little did I know my interaction with them wasn’t over yet. I realized going through security at the airport that I left the sweatshirt I planned to wear hanging in the closet of my hotel room. I called and asked if I could pay to have it shipped to my home. While I had plenty of time before my flight, I didn’t have enough time to go back and forth to the hotel. They not only retrieved my sweatshirt from my room, but the general manager brought it to me at the airport before my flight. He wouldn’t accept my tip. When insisted, he said he would give it to the housekeeping staff. What great service, and what a great manager. Look no further if you need a place to stay in the Clayton, MO area.

We were satisfied with our hotel, except for two things. We asked for our room to be made every day, and it didn’t happen. In the three nights that we spent there not once did our Internet work. All in all, I would stay there again. The staff is very nice. There is a very convenient parking lot for $12 extra day.

Jamie working the late night shift is an absolute gem and gave the best customer service I have ever received. I’m pretty sure she even came up to my room at around 3:30am and knocked on my door as she knew I had missed the taxi she scheduled for me. I heard the knocks and still made my flight!!! She is the best ever and great experience for the 3nights I stayed there
