I checked in after driving 4.5hrs at around 10pm Thursday night to be told that my room had an issue. The A/C had had an issue, leaking all over the floor next to the bed next to the windows. The carpet was soaked enough so that you couldn't walk between the bed and the window area. There weren't any other rooms available, so towels were laid on top of the soaked floor. With 3 kids and myself, we made the best of it. The staff was very apologetic and I was not charged for the first night. I was moved to another room the following afternoon. Then Saturday evening, after returning from a family reunion, I discovered that the A/C in my new room no longer worked. I informed the front desk immediately and the maintenance guy made his attempts to fix it, but was unsuccessful. I was then offered the only room left...the previously mentioned waterlogged room from Thursday night. By the time we got moved over, it was past 11pm. We were getting a little frustrated about the second move, but the staff again was very apologetic and again I wasn't charged for the stay that night. In the end, I paid for one night out of three. A fair trade, but I would have gladly paid full price for a dry, working room.

Yikes. We had a horrible stay here. We were on the ground floor, and had 5 beetles in our room our first morning. Then there was a frog in our bathroom. I told the front desk about the frog and bugs when I left for the day, then when I got back the frog was still there, and so were more bugs than when I left. So we went to the front desk again, and when a guy came to grab the frog, we asked if there was anything he could do about the bugs. He laughed and said "they're really bad this time of year since we're right next to a field," and left. The breakfast area had the same beetles crawling around as well. The room was just outdated and not well kept. It's crazy they can charge $170/night during busy season for how gross this hotel is. Also, the pool was closed our whole stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed here this past weekend. The staff was friendly and professional. The room needed some major cleaning. There was mold in bathroom, wall paper peeling and the carpet was worn. Wife woke up in the middle of the night because a beetle was crawling on her head. Seen several more in the bathroom. Won't stay here again.

This Hampton Inn & Suites has seen better days, but they are sadly a distant memory. The King Suite we stayed in doesn't appear to have been updated in any way since the hotel was built, and much like other purported 'amenities' such as the pool (which is essentially permanently out of service due to the fact that they can't pass an inspection because somehow they can't find anyone to do the kind of basic, routine pool maintenance my younger sister could handle quite competently at the age of 13), the room had been so poorly maintained that we were reticent to even use the moldy shower or let our six year old daughter sleep on the filthy sofa bed mattress that looked (and smelled) like it was pulled out of a dumpster at a homeless shelter. The king bed itself was comfortable enough, in line with what one would reasonably expect at a Hampton Inn, and their breakfast was fairly good if you got there quite early (sadly, they ran out of anything worth eating very early both mornings we were there). It would have been nice to know that we should have brought shower sandals, you know, like the ones you would wear in the showers of a dingy locker room, a poorly run camp or a prison. It would have also been really helpful if they didn't lie about having a pool that was safe enough for humans to use (it's out of service because they can't pass a safety inspection, and apparently haven't been able to for a very long time). There's not an abundance of ways to entertain a six year old in Altus, so we were really counting on the pool being available to provide some diversion for our daughter. Their internet connection at the Hampton was essentially useless, not due to poor wifi coverage, but due to abysmally insufficient bandwidth from their ISP (which I assume had everything to do with the fact that they wouldn't pay for the kind of service a hotel of their size actually needs). We had to rely on using our smartphones as mobile hotspots for a functional iternet connection, which was probably a wise decision in any event considering that there was no security whatsoever on their wifi network. Everything was completely open, unauthenticated and unencrypted. The only positive aspect was it's proximity to the Tamarack retirement home where some quite wonderful people were caring for my Nana who we came to visit. Otherwise, it was a dilapidated carcass of a hotel that should be avoided like the plague. At least the night manager was honest about the long-standing state of disrepair the hotel was in. That doesn't do anything to help the fact that we paid far too much for a room at a hotel that is in shambles and that continues to advertize amenities they don't have due to health inspections, but I suppose I appreciate the honesty after the fact?

I don’t know how this hotel has the rating it does. Bathroom was moldy, had to switch rooms, The shower didn’t drain; and still had mold spots, there were bugs in the bathroom& room, shampoo/conditioner/soap barely hanging on(one came off), and the pool wasn’t even open. For the price was definitely not worth it.

I don’t know how this hotel has the rating it does. The shower didn’t drain; there were bugs in the bathroom, towel was dirty, a towel rack was hanging off the wall, the closet door was broken, and the pool wasn’t even open. As a frequent Hampton stayer; this one is not a good one. For the price we paid; it was definitely not worth it. We ended up checking out after one night and booking at another hotel in town.

If you like to share a room with spiders, ants roaches and mildew I recommend staying here. If you would like a room with a clean shower and no bugs crawling all over I would recommend an air bnb. All of the hotels in altus have gone down hill in the last 12 months.
