Hamburguesas El Gordo #1 - Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis - 4157 Cedar Ave, USA

Ordered a Del Gordo Cubano which includes chorizo, bacon, hot dog, and the usual accoutrements. A well executed and yummy fat burger. Fries were good, a little on the floppy side.

We stopped in for lunch and we’re happy that we did. We had the northeno tacos and the Del Gordo burger. The tacos were good, not great as the tortilla wasn’t warmed and rice felt like day old rice. The Del gordo burger was really good with fresh and plentiful toppings. The service was fast and the people working were great and very friendly. We’ll definitely be back soon for the burgers.

The Del Gordo burger combo is my first purchase. Overall a delicious burger! The fries could be a bit crispier but they were good. Had to take my food to go because it was hot in there! Wished it was a bit cooler not just for me but also for their employees! Such a great staff! They need to stay cool too!

We ordered the El Pastor taco box and it had great flavor, fresh ingredients, killer sides, and authentic sauces amd toppings. The corn tortillas were pretty wet with meat juice and I'm sure steam from the delivery making them hard to eat and pretty messy. They added thoughtful paper devidors around each taco which made it possible to get the tacos apart without them falling apart. I would for SURE eat here again with a curbed delivery expectation.

Really good food. Burritos are very generous and the carnitas in particular are very moist and delicious. We've had timing delays 3 of the 5 times ordering food ahead for pickup. So beware that can be a situation. Haven't tried the ginormous burgers that they're famous for but they look unbelievably packed full of goodness ever time we see them!

I ate my Hamburgesa Cubano with my eyes closed, it was truly THAT good. I can't believe that I've never been here in my 5 years living in the Twin Cities! Service, food, everything was awesome. And I know it might seem pricey for a burger, but trust me...no chain restaurant or regular-ol' bar & grill can compete with this. Just go there, okay?! (oh, and skip the fries - you won't have room for them anyway 🍔)

Very delicious food! They serve beer, have a patio, and an interesting array of Mexican folk art boosts the modern decor inside. Lots of seating but no parking lot. You will find a spot on the street about a block up, plenty of space there. We chose their signature burger the "El Gordo" , and the Cuban "El Gordo". We also tried the Elote on a stick. Very, very good. The portions were great! They really load up on the toppings, and throw you 20 potatoes in French fries. It was a super hot day so they had the doors open letting an army of flies in. They were annoying and the lack of A/C further devalued the happy moment. FOOD was delicious! Give it a try, lost two stars for the reasons mentioned above. Good eating.

Idk what happened to this place but it went down hill. They stopped serving pop with the big taco box. I ordered the box got flour tortillas when ordered corn. Got pork instead of asada. I don't eat pork. I live 30 minutes away didn't want to drive back. Called was told to drive back or I can send a picture of the food to get a new box for another time. Sent pictures and was ghosted no reply or answer. Never eating at the location again. Expensive for the customer service. Not worth a dime.
