Ham Radio Deluxe - Featured Reviews (19)
I am an Amateur Extra operator. Was absent from the HF bands for many years, and then in 2014 decided to make another foray into HF and all the new operating modes. Took me a couple of months to get my station together and learn a bit about interfacing my FTdx1200 with my Windows-based computer. A friendly Ham suggested on one of the bulletin boards that I try Ham Radio Deluxe.
And I am so glad that found this excellent software suite! It does everything! I've learned about the digital modes and HRD's DM780 interface to PSK, Olivia, and all the other nifty operating modes. I tried the JT-modes... WSJT-X works seamlessly with HRD's logging app. Speaking of logging, with a simple click, I can upload my QSOs directly into LoTW as well as several other logging programs such as eQSL. Now I mostly operate in SSB and HRD makes it a snap to find stations in their DX cluster window. A simple click, and BAM!... My station is tuned to the frequency... Couldn't be simpler!
I highly recommend Ham Radio Deluxe for any new Ham as well as the experienced operator. They offer excellent support and will even help you with your setup. A great company, great people and great software.
AMAZING Logging and station control software that is beyond approach in capabilities that are easily learned and used. DM780 is the best integrated Digital suite I have ever used and I have tried many. No logging application handles award tracking to the extent that HRD does. Customer service and communication has become #1 for HRD. I actually look forward to renewing my subscription and feel it is likely the best money spent on my amateur radio station.
HRD is a great "do-all" program for HAM radio -- logging, cluster, built in digital programs, PC remote screen, port sharing even antenna rotation --- and much much more.
In my 10 years with HRD I've had two issues -- both of my own doing.
Recently Kevin in FL did a fantastic job getting some issues fixed and 2 years ago Tim really bailed me out of a jam in the heat of all my ARRL NPOTA activations. I was #1 Activator from CA and did really well Nationally too (used the simple macro driven HRD contest module for my logging). I hope to see Tim and/or Kevin at one of the Ham Conventions and thank them in person for their great service. How often do you get a service tech based in the USA?
Although my term as President of the San Diego DX Club has passed I'm still a "favorite Son" and continue to promote HRD.
BTW, LOVE the WA9PIE cluster agitator!

I just returned to Amateur Radio after a 32-year absence. Thanks to a few helping HAMS, I found myself at the HRD doorstep. This past week, I downloaded HRD and LOG4OM software for evaluation.
Congratulations on the ease with which HRD takes the user through the initial installation and set-up. Other than having to reset the baud rate to 9600, the set-up was “speed-bump free.”
While the full-feature nature of HRD is a bit of a “drink from a fire hydrant,” the initial graphical layout was valuable in creating a general orientation.
And I believe your evaluation, purchase and support strategy is among the most fair in the industry.

This is an excellent software package for support of your rig and several digital modes.
In addition, I must say that their customer support is probably one of the best I've experienced.
It all started when Microsoft decided to do an update to my Windows 10 right at the time I was setting up Ham Radio Deluxe. This caused an anomaly unlike anything their technicians had ever seen. Two of their technicians were unable to solve the problem so Mike himself got involved. It became a challenge to him and after hours of testing and research Mike was able to solve the problem.
I'm very happy with the software and super impressed with their support over and above the call of duty. They really do care about their customers!
A BIG THANK YOU to Mike and his team!

I have been using HRD since I was licensed in 2010 and by far its the best ham radio software I own. It seamlessly integrates with my radios (ICOM 707, Genesis SDR) and I use the logbook software and digital master software extensively. Popular "watering holes" are predefined and I also have entered my own favorite frequencies and modes. One click to tune my radio and start operating. I have tried other digital multi-mode software and none compares to DM-780. All digital mode contacts are instantly entered in my log book. Macro are very easy to understand, use and update. I have created my own custom macros based on the "canned" macros provided. The log book software with spotters is one stop radio operation. It automatically indicates if I have worked the operator and with one click it configures my radio to work the operator. I only need to hit the PTT. If my rotator was connected to my computer it would even rotate my Yagi to the proper bearing. My contacts in the log book are uploaded to eQSL and LOTW seamlessly. It also provides you details on your award progress. Its one of the few pieces of ham radio software that I'm happy to pay for. Its well worth the cost.
Do Not Recommend. Spent two months fighting with HRD and never got resolution. Once you send your money you won't get it back regardless of the situation. They offered No Trial Period and refused a refund when requested within the first 30 days. Software is Very Complicated with a Steep Learning Curve. Many unwanted features are everywhere and you can't turn them off or hide them. There are many free programs that do everything that this one does and more. No Reason To Pay, Especially when you loose you money if it does not work or you don't like it. If you are seeing this, it is because they still have my money and I have not yet been made whole!
I have using HRD for many years without issues and anytime I had a question the staff answered within minutes. HRD has made it possible for me to contact, log, and confirm 339 countries towards my DXCC awards.
HRD is the BEST and only amateur radio software package for me. The best hobby investment I have made during my 50 years of being licensed.
You will be very happy using HRD software!

Good coffee and food. Friendly staff and a good vibe.
Really chill ambiance and music along with a huge outdoor set up.
A bit on the pricey end compared to other places, especially for the food. But good food over all taste and quality wise.
First time here and had a spectacular experience. Sandra is a joy and makes delicious coffee and food. Got their berry latte and the vanilla white mocha. Both were flavorful and rich, and canât wait to try the rest. Delicious food and beyond 5-star
