We had an amazing experience at Halter Ranch Winery during our visit to Paso Robles. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch in their scenic outdoor area while waiting for our tour to begin. Our guide, Timothy, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us a great tasting tour of the cave where they age their wines - it was so cool to see the barrels underground. Both the wine and the hospitality were top-notch. This is a must-visit for any wine lover traveling through the area. Thanks for the great tour, Timothy!
Margaret was absolutely a wonderful hostess as she worked with my husband to surprise me for my Birthday! Such a beautiful site, great wine, on-site landing strip and most of all the Pilots Cabins are secluded on the property. Very cute cabins and so relaxing. Fire pits, horse shoes, swing, extra outdoor restrooms with showers for after you’re in the pool, lounging areas and fully equipped kitchen. Wish they had the Train running on the weekends as that would have been fun to do. Thank you all for a wonderful weekend!!
Lunch was fantastic because the service was fantastic! Liam was efficient, cordial, easy to relate to, and told us good stories which added to the conversation and ease of being on the patio at Halter Ranch. The views were of vineyards, large oaks, and mountains, and we were quickly served our wine flights as we oerused the lunch menu. With more choices than on previous visits, two of us still opted for the sublime hamburger, but the others in our party were more adventurous and enjoyed other salads, soups, and main dishes. The portions are ample and we had no room for dessert, opting instead for a bottle of wine. The wines are among the best in our illustrious Paso Robles wine region, and we were not rushed and relaxed into the beautiful views, the delicious wines, and the pleasures of being with with friends on a lazy summer afternoon! Halter is my favorite winery for generous pours, great service, and lovely food and wine! Have loved every one of my many visits, and so will you!
Amazing lunch/ wine tasting experience! Beautiful views paired with a tasty lunch and delicious wines not to mention wonderful music. Great way to spend the weekend! I really enjoyed my pasta ragu and Ancestor 🍷 Hubby had the steak frites and he loved it too. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
I love Halter, I am a member. There is not one wine that I don’t like. The service is always great. This weekend they were not as attentive, I was a little disappointed with the amount of time we had to wait to be served, and the time in between tasting. It would be nice if they handed you a glass when you checked in, to ease with the wait. I also was irritated that my server didn’t know I was a member when he came to the table empty handed. Overall though we had a great time and enjoyed all the amazing wine.
I recently dined at a restaurant where the food selection was minimalist, yet the quality was superb. Our choices included burgers, rigatoni, and a tomato sandwich, paired with delightful wine flights. The restaurant's ambiance and location added to the overall experience, creating a perfect setting. While it might be a bit pricey for a family of four, the memorable visit made it worth the cost.
Beautiful location, expert craftsmanship on buildings and tasting areas. Wines are excellent but have doubled in price since we first joined the wine club. Rethinking membership but would miss visiting the location. We can no longer afford the dinners nor lodging, just glad we were able to partake years ago before the price increases.
