Haleiwa Joe's - Featured Reviews (3006)
Hate to write a bad review but the food here is just not good, a bit ghastly really. I got the baked fish: the fish was so dry it was hard to eat, the curry sauce oddly gooey and flavorless, the papaya salad limp and unseasoned, and the rice badly cooked (think they used too much water). The two calamari dishes weren’t bad but then again, anything fried should taste somewhat appetizing. The sticky short ribs were also underwhelming - they were dry and the sauce was pretty mediocre, and they came with the same rice and papaya salad. Lastly, we had the burnt caramel ice cream - for $12, you get two humongous scoops with caramel sauce and fruits. Sadly, the caramel sauce was nothing special and didn’t have that burnt flavor. The fruits didn’t taste that fresh either, especially the pineapple. The positives are friendly service and a nice environment.
11/24/2023: Stopped by for dinner. Waited about 10 minutes for a table for 2 on the patio. Ordered calamari fries and a couple of cocktails (old fashioned and mai tai which were just okay). Our entrees were the teriyaki sirloin and the whole fried fish and ended with coconut panna cotta. Overall the meal was really great. The calamari fries were cooked perfectly and with a nice crisp crust. The sirloin was cooked as desired (medium rare). Teriyaki sauce was on the sweet side yet still balanced. Whole fried fish was branzino. The dish came with sweet and sour sauce and I requested it on the side which I'm glad I did because even though it was good it was too spicy for me and would have over powered the fish. The branzino was fried beautifully. Nice crisp skin and juicy meat. Coconut panna cotta came topped with pineapple cooked in a cinnamon sauce which was delicious but too sweet. Panna cotta was pretty firm, more along the line of haupia and was heavenly. Staff was really prompt, attentive, and friendly. They were a bit busy, very family friendly with lots of little ones running around in the grassy lawn in front of the patio seating.
We were so impressed by all the deliciousness at Haleiwa Joe's. The atmosphere is a little fancy but also very relaxed. Each bite made another one necessary! 😋 The Ahi Spring rolls were dynamite. We also had coconut shrimp, a couple different fish dishes and some yummy cocktails!
The best restaurant I went to on the island. Everyone was so friendly and the food was AWESOME! YOU MUST ORDER THE PRIME RIB! If I had to use one word to describe the food, it would be: Exceptional!
Good food but a limited menu. Maybe only about a dozen items to choose from. I got the Braised Beef Shortribs loco moco and the wife got the crab cakes. Pretty good!
Our group went for Brunch on Sunday the locomoco was crazy good my fish and chips were okay. Really had great service and the drinks were on point. We sat outside and it was wonderful.
I've been to Oahu 4 time already and this last time was the first time I tried Haleiwa Joe's. And let me tell you it did not disappoint. If you want the best prime rib on the island you need to go here. The bone in prime rib was Bigger than my hand and the thickness of the cut was the length of my finger. I am 6'3" at 275 lbs so this cut was big and perfectly cooked for me. My wife got the fish of the day and my aunt got the Korean BBQ ribs. Every dish was delicious and the price was great for what you get. So if you have a big stomach and want to enjoy a nice sunset come to Haleiwa Joe's! And always remember Thank you for the food!
Subpar at best. The food was overpriced and not what we expected from the other reviews. We had the kalbi and burger and both were just ok. Definitely expected more for the price. The cocktails weren’t good either.

Went all over the island trying shrimp from various restaurants and Ted's Bakery was hands down the best spot. Their mac salad is also really good, tangy and sweet. I tried the macadamia nut pie and it had bits of macadamia nuts and tasted amazing. E
I found Snorkel and Dive Hawaii when I was looking to do a refresher course. I hadnât been scuba diving in about 30 years and needed to get comfortable with it again before an upcoming trip. Emilie was incredibly responsive in setting everything up

Gorgeous beach with plenty of space to tan and chill without getting snuck up on my waves or being close to other people. Definitely not a good swim spot. Waves are rough in the winter and the break is right on the shore so beware. Lifeguards patrol
A very beautiful beach with a lot of rocks along the shoreline. Went on a day where it was cloudy, windy, and the waves were a bit too strong so we did not get a good snorkelling experience. I recommend observing the wave strength before trying to go
This place has amazing vegan burgers that are tasty and unique. Both the beet burger and the soy bbq burger were delicious. The food is filling and wholesome, not heavy or greasy. There is parking in the lot next to the cafe, and they have a restroom
Great beach park to have a nice picnic at! Here is also where the Haleiwa Metric Century ride started. You can ride your bike around this area for a stunning view.
An easy hike for young and old, though they also offer $10 cart rides down and up from the falls. The valley also serves as a botanical garden as well as a sacred cultural site where you can learn about the significance of the area to the locals from
The park is nice. The shower and changing room is acceptable and welcomed. We swam with 3 turtles, which was fascinating. Just beware of the typical rocky floor in the ocean.
Best place to view turtles! A little rough for snorkeling... Very busy! Come early! Huge backup to drive last couple miles here which takes around 10+ min for last mile as everyone is slowing down to look for parking and turtles it seemed! Parking is
Nice beach park with parking, restroom, shower, picnic area. There are other beach parks next to each others as well. Wide sand beach area with limited shade near water edge. Some bring beach chairs, umbrella, or tents. It is also perfect place for s
