Elma and Carl were great hosts. My husband, adult daughter, and I stayed in the Palm Suite for 2 nights. The Palm Suite has 2 queen beds, full bathroom, and private lanai. We really enjoyed the lanai. When we checked in, Elma showed us their supply of beach towels, sand chairs, boogie boards, water shoes (mostly larger men's sizes), sunscreen, bug spray, snorkel gear, swim fins, and sand toys that guests could use. This was great because we had booked a snorkel tour to Captain Cook monument that recommended that we bring a beach towel and water shoes/appropriate footwear for walking on lava. Obviously, you aren't guaranteed to find your size for water shoes, fins, and snorkel gear but it's nice to to have the option. We had to leave before 8 am to make our snorkel tour so we requested a breakfast to go. Elma was very sweet and made each of us a hot breakfast sandwich. We were able to enjoy the sit-down breakfast the next morning and it was delicious. The fresh fruit was excellent. I highly recommend bringing ear plugs because the coqui frogs are noisy at night and the roosters start crowing (continuously) early in the morning.
Wonderful place to stay and beautiful views from the lanais. Breakfast is amazing! Hot home-cooked meal with fruit and dessert! Both owners are super nice and accommodating! Their pup is adorable and sweet! Love the frogs, pigs, and cows that you can see and hear from your room’s lanai. They have lots of books, maps, snorkel/beach gear that you can borrow while here! Highly recommend!
Hale Hoola B&B is a blissful paradisaical nook with cozy rooms, great Lanai's, and a delicious breakfast which includes pineapples, papaya, banana, avocado, and more all plucked straight from the fruit trees all around. Despite arriving late in the evening due to a delayed flight, Carl was friendly and communicative and greeted us kindly, showing us around and making us feel at home. In case we ended up arriving even later, he had also thoughtfully arranged an easy and convenient self check-in process as a back-up.
All 3 rooms in this B&B are located on the lower level and all have private lanis with great ocean views for miles. Carl and Emma made us feel very welcome and provided lots of useful information about the area. My wife appreciated the shower tub combo. Great breakfast including breads, eggs, fresh fruit from their gardens and locally sourced fresh ground coffee. Plenty of snorkel equipment if you need it as well as chairs, umbrellas, water shoes and boogie boards. Easy entry snorkelling at 2 Step just a miles away. We would definitely stay again.
We have truly enjoyed our stay here. It was away from the city which was so peaceful! The hosts are super nice and made us feel at home. The breakfasts are amazing and always served with fresh fruit from their tress. Rooms were clean and came with balconies. We definitely will be back!
We enjoyed so very much our two night stay at Hale Ho'ola B&B. Carl and Elma are outstanding hosts, making sure their guests' needs are all met. In addition to a delicious breakfast each morning, we were allowed to borrow snorkel masks/fins, beach chairs, umbrella and boogie-board, a convenience which saved us time and money. We stayed in the Plumeria Suite, which had an ocean view and small lanai. The Lanai had sufficient seating, along with a table and small fridge. The Location, south of Captain Cook, provided us a taste of the real Hawaiii; hope one day, we can return.
Carl and Elma are wonderful hosts. Couldn't have asked for anything more during our four nights stay at Hale Ho'ola B&B. Great location in Captain cook, quite close to two-step, one of the best places for snorkeling in Big Island. We stayed in the Palm suite that had a wonderful lanai with ocean view. Nothing like waking up to a delicious breakfast in the morning (that our kids finished each time, BTW ;-)) and being able to borrow all the gear necessary for a day on the beach..., with helpful tips from Carl and Elma on places to visit.
After a terrible experience with a different vacation rental, we found Hale Ho’ola. Staying here was like a breath of fresh air. Elma and Carl were very friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. Lots of beach equipment available to use towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, etc. The view of the fruit trees and ocean is breathtaking. We highly recommend Hale Ho’ola and hope to someday stay again.

We had such a wonderful experience. The property is off the main road on 40 acres, what we found so striking when we first arrived was the silence. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet surrounding this is the place for you. The breakfast was ama
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Aloha guesthouse. The rooms are immaculate and the view is stunning. It is conveniently located near Captain cook and all the great snorkeling spots are close by. The property is a 5-acre fruit far
Our hosts are kind and accommodating. The rooms are well equipped and roomy. Great views from the lanai (deck). Daily breakfasts are wonderful with fruits galore and house grown coffee. The road leading to the house is a little tricky, but you get us

If you enjoy history this a is a great day. If you enjoy Hawaiian history and culture it doesnât get any more authentic than Puâuhonua. This is a sacred site that served as a sanctuary in old Hawaii for those that were seeking sanctuary or a want
This is my favorite place on the whole island. Itâs super peaceful and incredibly beautiful. It is a great place to just sit and breathe. The garden hosts representation of many statues and icons from various faith beliefs. Itâs very educational
Delicious, gorgeous setting. Wonderful place for casual burgers, fish n chips and tacos. Very reasonably priced. The staff is so very friendly and welcoming! We had some visiting chickens and roosters, great fun for the kids

The view that we had there was amazing. You need to hike around 20-30min through the woods, and also step into the water at some point, but it s worth it. We were alone there and could enjoy the sunset properly.
