If you want to have a great workout, don't mind going up steep hills, being out in nature, enjoying beautiful scenery, and having fun, this hike is for you! I took the Ahwingna Trail to the Rattlesnake Ridge Trail and back. These trails overlook two canyons on each side full of lush greenery. There are many trails here so you have a choice in picking your level of difficulty. Parking is very limited at the trailhead but you can park near the middle school. No fee to hike. And there is one pot-te-potty not far from the trailhead. I will definitely be back to hike other trails here. Be safe and go check it out!

Local hiking spot with moderate climbs. There’s a trail that’s wheelchair-friendly, so it’s more accessible than your average trail. Came here on a Saturday morning, and there were quite a few people who were running/biking/hiking. There’s free street parking in the neighborhood, and the small parking lot in front of the trail entrance was roped off. Some parts were moderately steep, but it’s a family-friendly hike. When you get to the top, you can see a nice view of DTLA. The trail is exposed, so wear sunscreen. Most of the trail is also compact dirt, although the beginning part was asphalt. There’s a porta-potty available at the bottom of the trail. No water fountains were available. There are multiple paths, and maps are available to help you navigate, as many of these trails are interconnected. Overall, the hike was decent and there’s an array of options for novice to more experienced hikers.

Beautiful, nice and quiet. Right in the entrance there are only 3 parking spots I believe but you can always park across. Saw a couple pf vultures. First time seeing them. Wasnt able to hike all the way up to the tower. I will be back to try again lol Edited: Made it to the top this time

This is a really nice place if you are looking for a short but moderately hard hike. It is pet-friendly. Keep them leashed because there are a lot of little creatures around. I love how the trail goes through picturesque hills. If you are going in the summer, Coyote trail(first left off the main trail from the parking lot) goes through the North facing side of the slope. It has lots of shade and you get really close to the plants. The Ahswinga trail which runs in the middle is a wide ascending trail. The trails are loops and joins in with the other trails so you can choose how far you want to go. There is also a bathroom at the trailhead. Word of caution: poison oak is everywhere. Learn to identify the plant and stay away.

This is my favorite local trail and it gives you a great workout, do it early when the sun is not hitting hard. It leads you to Schabarum trails and Hellman park trail which also has a great workout for your 🦵legs. Have fun and maintain the trails 👣clean.

It is a beautiful place to go hiking with friends or family, excellent cardio work, every time I go I enjoy everything, even aromas, views, its flora and fauna, I love this place, the only bad thing is that they open very late at 9am. ideal would be 6am. I highly recommend it👏👍🏃🏻‍♀️

Lovely trail with some nice shaded inclines and spectacular views. Many wildlife encounters when not too busy, but this is a popular hike; be aware of the day and time you hike to get the best experience.

Great place if looking for a local hike. Few trails to choose from ranking from 1-1/2 miles up to 6 miles. Start your way up to old water tower and back down for a good moderate hike.

Great store friendly service. The owner can be a bit old timely but the young man running the counter most nights is a real one and deserves all the sales he has coming.

Excellent service, pretty good donuts, but just average coffee experience. When it comes to coffee you got to offer flavored creamers. Christie's Donuts does not. It's too bad because they check every other box as far as I was concerned.
