Pulled into the parking lot and saw The Dredge and the tugboat and there was parking there so we stopped walked up inside and saw that you could do a self tour through an app or just self-guided. Then we went over to the tugboat read the information boards there and saw that you could not go on it to view it until summer of next year-June 2024. Then we walked down to the actual Maritime Museum where there was more parking and where we probably should have stopped at first. There was no signage to direct you to the museum first. So after looking at the dredge and the tugboat we now had to pay $10 to go through a small museum that while somewhat informative I feel is a little overpriced especially since there was nobody there that seemed very knowledgeable or willing to provide some extra informationto make the museum more interesting. Gift shop had some decent stuff. It would have definitely been worth the $10 if the price of admission included actually touring on the tugboat. Unfortunately unless you also purchase a separate ticket you have no access to get close enough or even take decent pictures unless you have a professional camera of the lighthouse. Unless you are a true maritime buff this one is a hit or miss.

Informative museum with kid-friendly exhibits. Seeing the Derrick 8 canal boat with engines and boiler was fascinating. The LT-5 tug boat that participated in the D-Day invasion was very interesting and surprising. Highly recommend a stop at this museum if you are in Oswego.

The Oswego Lighthouse Tour is informative and fun. From our cordial Captain Chuck to the informative volunteers inside the lighthouse, it was a very good experience.

Fascinating Museum. The 2nd floor of the museum is chock full of exhibits about Oswego, the lighthouse and the Life Saving Service. The gift shop has a large selection of items. We enjoyed the narrated tour of the PT Boat and Barge. There is a large parking lot and picnic tables.

Kid friendly and we had the best guide today! He was so good with the kids, asked great questions AND gave all the kids a chance to answer! Plus he’d been to all the maritime museums we’d been to and Battleship Cove so that was fun for the kids also. It’s a small but really well done piece of history! Our guide also recommended a fun kid friendly restaurant 🥰 we really enjoyed Rudy’s so thank you Mr. Guide

A very unique hidden treasure with Oswego. I’ve been here multiple times throughout my life and I’ll while it looks small on the outside but can take awhile to tour; especially for someone that is new to maritime history. The tugboat docked outside has an interesting story; being the last U.S. Army vessel that served during D-Day and is still operational today. Highly recommend that you visit this small yet unique maritime museum. It’s not everyday that you see a ship that was present at D-Day (and also shot down an enemy plane).

Great little Museum with lots packed inside. There's some great local historical information here. There are a couple other historical boats nearby as well. The family loved it!

We took the lighthouse tour on Friday 23 June 2023. It was well run and very much on time. The docents knew their stuff and the lighthouse itself, although in a state of repair is very neat to see. The museum was included in the price of the lighthouse tour, and it was very good. You can see the original Fresnel lens, and there are all kinds of other good information. The only thing I could see doing a little differently is, Putting the displays behind glass in many cases as people could loot them. The docent at the museum, who took us to the barge and the Tugboat was also very good and knowledgeable. This was a well spent 2 1/2 hours for us and well worth the trip.
