This is my "home" HEB and I love it so much. I hate grocery shopping so I don't actually go into the store that often, but when I do I am always pleased by how well stocked it is. The staff are simply the best, so friendly and happy to help. The store is VERY clean and I rarely if ever have an issue finding what I'm looking for. The curbside team is simply AMAZING. They do such a great job taking care of me when I go in for pick up. There have been a few times where the produce that was selected was "questionable" but all I had to do was call and they made it right. What more can I ask for? Funny anecdote. I am always bragging about HEB to my aunt and uncle who live in Arkansas and they thought I was exaggerating. When they came to visit I brought them to this location to check out the HEB experience. I'm not even kidding, they spent 90 minutes wandering around the store just in shock and awe at how awesome HEB is! :D
My HEB Plus in Leander is truly my favorite. I just had a exchange with Franky at the Customer Service desk. So kind and friendly and helpful.. Thank you. Also, I like the self checkout and the help you get there. I do not stress about long lines during this holiday season, because the workers always make sure that everything is moving along quickly. Happy Holidays to Franky and all the HEB workers in Leander!!!
I don't shop in this area, but found myself here needing a few things. This location is very clean and has terrific parking. The store is well-organized. I love the bakery being away from a wall (like regular HEBs). I found it interesting that the HEB Meal Simples are a separate department here. It was nice to be able to travel down rows of Meal Simple products, away from other grocery item shopping. The store wasn't slammed with customers, but it was a but busy. They had adequate registers and wait time was acceptable. My cashier was friendly and engaged me. This was a positive shopping experience.
Produce quality is okay, WholeFoods, and even Randall’s has better quality quality. I think their produce just sit too long, so keep an eye on them when you’re picking them up. Overall the store is huge and has everything you could think of with decent quality. So I’m really glad this is open in Leander. Another qualm I have with HEB is that I cannot find good burger buns, they have a great bakery but they don’t make good size burger buns.
Curbside is horrible. Slow every time! My wait has never been less than 20 mins. I've received rotten fruit and spoiled milk in my curbside orders. Management here is worse. They have no customer service skills. And don't expect the GM to contact you. I left 4 messages and even tried to contact him on LinkedIn. No response! Not indicative of the HEB culture.
I have a choice of two equally distance HEB stores to choose from. This store however is my preferred. Not only is it a nicer and larger store it also supports HEB Go! Which for me is a huge time saver. Staff is always friendly and helpful when needed and lines tend to move quickly if you're not using the HEB Go app. Self check could be a little less cramped but it works for now.
Giving a 5☆ on Christmas Eve 2023. I went shopping, I hate shopping... Got home started unpacking, noticed the salt and pepper was missing. I was like, really? I drove back to HEB, talk to the manager on duty, I had my receipt, she took care of it. Get back home with the salt and pepper then was asked why didn't you buy sour-cream, and butter? I said, what do you mean, it wasn't in the bags? The response, no, it wasn't. I already looked in the front and backseat but I went to look one more time. I GO BACK to HEB for the 3rd time, talk to the same manager AGAIN. I had my receipt, and she took care of me. For me, this was a huge waste of time, this is the first time in my life I've had to go back twice, a total of 3 times to the grocery store. If we didn't need it I would have blown if off and counted the loss. Anyway, my point is, I really appreciate being shown patience and professionalism. This review is in hindsight, I didn't think to get her name but I'm sure HEB is known for things like this. EDIT: You won't believe it, but the bag that got missed, had my toothpaste in there too! Anyway, I just thought it is kinda funny, but I'll just chalk it as a loss 🤦♂️
I debated on writing this heavily. As women, we are taught to just get out of the situation quickly for our safety and most of us shy away from reporting unsafe/uncomfortable situations. I almost did not report and let this slide. But something came over me and I had to. On 1/26… around 11:20 I decided to stop by this HEB to grab a lint rollers and a few other travel essentials. So I entered and immediately noticed an employee wearing a bright yellow hoodie, bald with glasses and a white beard, scout me out and follow me around. But I have been in his place and to be honest I looked like a bum so, definitely fit the profile. But I kept shopping for what I needed whilst he followed me around. I made my way into the cosmetic section and picked up a blush. At this point I had 3 items in my hand when I realized I needed a lint roller, so I made my way over to the detergent isle, with this gentleman of course, still following me. As I am entering, the intercom came on and it was announced that their system was down and they were only accepting cash. I had no cash so I placed the items on a shelf and made my way to the exit. As I am about to exit the building, this man stops me and with an accusing tone asked “where are the cosmetics you had in your hand?” To which I replied “I put them in a shelf” him: “okay but which one” I replied “the detergent isle , I can show you” him “no no, I just needed to know where, my job is to put everything back” (no it isn’t, loss prevention) to which I reply “this is offensive” he replied with a smirk “why?” … me “you targeted me” him “no I didn’t, have a nice day”. I’m Latina and he was a middle aged white male and again… wearing sweatpants and an oversized sweater, of course he targeted me. I’ve dealt with ignorance like this my entire life.I left so distraught and as im searching for my car I noticed him in the next parking line, he followed me out. I made my way to my car and sat there watching him as he got into his car and made his way towards me and circled around the parking isle I was parked in. He ended up entering another isle and I couldn’t see him anymore and I felt relief. I sat there debating if I should go home or report this to his supervisor. I was afraid this unhinged employee would follow me home so I went inside and had a pleasant chat with the supervisor, Chris I believe. Whom was very apologetic and respectful. Thank you. I have no need to steal, I have been a paying customer for years. I understand the procedures but this was borderline unsafe and unhinged of this employee. However, the actions of one employee does not define the establishment, this particular employee needs psychological intervention, perhaps more.
ðµð±Ziggyâs ðµð± Simply the best! I was in Leander for some events and had Ziggyâs marked as there are not many Polish places in Austin. I was so so so happy to stop in here and be treated with such caring service. As the workers say â
