I was very impressed with Gyotaku. To start, the salad was a really delicious surprise with a much appreciated imitation crab piece. For the entree, the steak was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. It came with tempura as a combo, which was a fantastic contrast for the meal. I'd definitely go back for their steak.
We ordered the Holiday Bento and was disappointed. The servers are nice and attentive, but make sure to double check on serving plates when put on the table, both of our serving plates are dirty. Food review as below: .Tempura came out room temperature, not the crunchiness still there but you can tell it been sitting after deep fried. 4/10 .Butter Fish taste delicious and hot, a bit burned on the skin but thats how i liked it. Few bones here and there but not a problem! 9/10 .Boneless Galbi were chewy, taste normal, flavor isnt there for a high rating restaurant…and they are barely warm. Why cant they serve hot food when they are supposed to? 2/10 .4 pc. Sushi rolls are ok, nothing g special, could get something similar out of grocery store. 3/10 .Salad was fine, a bit sour on the dressing 5/10 For $40 Holiday Special Bento, i do expect something a lot better, again very disappointed experiences Hope the management see this review. Should have an expeditor who double check on the food quality before goes out of the kitchen
So...one of my Bff's Mom took us here💜 It was my first time & I ordered a Ginger Iced Tea and was pleasantly surprised with a little cup with real ginger juice to put into my tea, as much as I wanted 🤙🏾 I also ordered the 3-choice bento. I got the Sashimi, Misoyaki Butterfish and Salmon and... OMG, they were SO fresh and literally MELTED in my mouth 😋 The waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was cozy... I would DEFINITELY recommend this place 💯😋

Good food and a place to get together, parking was easy and a fair amount of spots were available on a Saturday night. We didn't wait long, the only thing that we took long is because the menu is extensive and hard to make a choice quickly.i ordered two appetizer plates and a senior meal. Why not! The food is consistent with the Niu Valley store and service was on point. We enjoyed the meal and will return.
It was my husband’s birthday on Christmas Eve. First time eating here and would come back again, good service and yummy food, butterfish/tempura, Rib eye, karaage chicken, miso soup…Okinawan sweet potato pie. All we ate are delicious. We like that there’s social distancing too.
So delicious and the service is incredible! Very attentive and everybody enjoyed their meal. The tonkatsu curry is a teeny bit spicy in case you don't like spice at all. I don't know how they prepare the tonkatsu, but it was exceptional. It can be a bit pricey, but they have lunch and senior specials that are reasonable; plus an early bird dinner special too. The quality of the food out weighs the cost. Worth it. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
Great Japanese food fit for Hawaii's population. Good service and large portions of food. The kids loved the sashimi and sushi and I enjoyed tonkatsu curry! Left very satisfied with taste and quality of food.

This is a must for breakfast. I always order the salmon and roe musubi. I know everyone comes here for the spam but these triangle goodness is the best. The line does get quite long as sometimes it takes 25-35 mins to get your food. But you know it w
A great blend of traditional and hip, serving a really unique menu of Japanese delicacies. Suggest the mac nut tofu and their signature rekkon cheese (Japanese style mini pizza) appetizers to start. The sushi selection is of highest quality. Save ro
Hands down best sushi in Hawaii. Gaku was recommended to us by our scuba diving instructor who is a Japanese sushi chef before moving to Hawaii. Every piece of sushi is prepared so delicately and skillfully. Each cut of the fish is so precise and fin

Came here to try their new Uni Special Course dinner. We were happy to taste all the different dishes that were well prepared and the serving size was perfect.
They renovated not so long ago. The space is even bigger and not overwhelming like the old space. The interior made me feel like home and very refreshing. The food is still as fresh and tasty ever since. Aunty gave me a fresh banana (so kind and frie
Worth the visit! The fruit punch was delicious and we loved the crispy pork gyoza. The tonpeiyaki (pork omelette) was also awesome. It was also entertaining to watch the chef cook it in front of us and have him immediately serve our food hot. Beca
You know its a good Japanese restaurant when most of the patrons are Japanese speakers. The price is decent and this place satisfy my ikura/uni cravings. Most of the meals comes with both a rice and soba combo. Also, this is the first time I tried
Shoot was - as expected - amazing. Stunning mastery of technique, patter, and showmanship. Hilarious sense of humour, was great at working the crowd and had a lot of warmth and heart incorporated into his performance, and the story he told throughout
I have been searching and searching for great biscuits and gravy like I used to get back in Texas, and OMG these were so so so so much better than that. Did something different and went with the chicken biscuits and gravy and was happily surprised at
