The customer service was great and they were very professional; but, I really didn't understand why I had to pay a $300 deposit when I have never been late on my electric and I have immaculate credit for my utilities. That $300 deposit hurt because moving is expensive, I could understand $100, $125, or $150 but $300 is a lot. And then to add insult to injury, they're saying that I'm not going to get my deposit credited for a year. I think 6 months is enough time to show that someone has a good pattern of payment, this seems very excessive and I'm very upset. And I know your generic response is going to be that "our company runs credit as an indicator of the ability to pay to ensure that we protect ourselves if there is non-payment." But the interesting thing is that I've had some very positive events happen within my personal credit so this seems very insulting.

Abraham Gonzalez was the kind tech that came out to fix my AC unit. He diagnosed the issue, thoroughly explained the issue and repair process, ordered and received the parts in a timely manner. He also installed window units for us while we waited for the parts to come in. Thank you Abraham for the exceptional customer service experience.

Firstly, I have never written a negative review for any service or product. That said, if there was an option to leave negative stars, I would. 18 months ago we paid more than $14,000 dollars for a new A/C. An enormous out of pocket expense and investment. The unit failed for the first time a few months later on the FIRST day of warm weather. The technician that came out, who was a field manager, told us that he was embarrassed by how terribly it was installed–"completely incorrect installation–and needs to be totally rebuilt" were his words–later GVEC said he was incorrect in his assessment and refused to redo any of the work. At this point, the unit has failed 5 or 6 times and for various reasons; failed parts, filled up with water, electrical failure, installation issues, etc. At this point we have spent weeks without a working A/C in the Texas heat. We would have been much better off just using the 15 year old broken unit that was installed before. This was been the single worst consumer experience of my life. We are seeking legal action, since GVEC does not stand behind their work or products sold. We even paid for service plan and warranty, but that has made little difference. I would only trust small independently owned companies from now on. These big behemoth companies only want to make the sell and then do as little as possible for the customer once the check is written.

I was with GVEC for over 25 years and never had a better electric company! I can't remember ever losing electricity until the mandated blackouts during the one bad winter we had. However, they contacted their customers and explained everything! I am moving just six miles away and I hope my next electric company will be at least half as good as GVEC! Thank you GVEC for being the best electric provider that I can remember!

We loved GVEC for the 17 years we lived in the Schertz area. I don’t remember one major blackout we ever had compared to San Antonio‘s CPS energy. Their electricity was always going out every time there was a major storm. We appreciated the fact that GVEC stayed on top of their business and provided us with excellent service.

GVEC gave me a one-year HVAC Spec Check Maintenance Plan Membership at their meeting on 19 March 2024. See attached flyer. I was contacted by GVEC to schedule the inspection. I scheduled the inspection for a Friday, but the technician called me on the preceding Wednesday morning saying that he was already at my home for the inspection. I was not at home when I took this call and I later told GVEC that the inspection should be done on the date scheduled. The technician showed up on Friday and inspected my upstairs and downstairs units. I was with the technician during the entire inspection. I later re-read the flyer and found that the Spec Check included blowing out condensate drain lines and lubrication of moving parts. The technician did NOT blow out the drain lines or lubricate any moving parts during the visit. This work was NOT done for either of my units. Several weeks later, I contacted GVEC service department for a redo. I told the service department that I had NEVER received the promised full HVAC Spec Check report. They finally emailed the report. So that GVEC could finish their incomplete work, I scheduled a redo of the Spec Check Maintenance Inspection ONLY for blowing out the drain line and lubricating moving parts of the downstairs unit. On the second visit, a supervisor came to finish the work. Again, I was with the technician at my downstairs unit during the entire visit. He vacuumed the top end of the condensate drain line, but he did NOT blow out the drain line. Vacuuming is NOT blowing out condensate drain lines, as was advertised. Also, when I asked the technician to lubricate the moving parts in the downstairs unit, he said that GVEC does not do that – in spite of what the flyer stated. I am extremely disappointed in the service that I have received from GVEC. I am also very glad that I did not pay for this inspection. Otherwise, I would have been paying for a service that I did NOT receive.

Eric Mbajika provided excellent service in keeping our A/C running smoothly. Eric was polite, professional, and thorough as he went about the job. Highly recommend!

Just had Jose and Ryan from the Schertz branch install a new air conditioner at our residence. Everything went very smooth. They arrived when they said they would and finished the same day. Excellent communication from start to finish. Chelsea in the Schertz office was very helpful as well as the salesman, Larry Moseley.
