To start this lengthy review, I would like to say that my friends and I had an amazing trip and would highly recommend this stay and play golf resort at Gull Lake View Golf Resort. 1. Villas: I thought that the villa was completely adequate. There is a kitchen with a fridge, a dishwasher, microwave, oven, and coffee pot. There was plenty of flat ware (plates, cups, mugs, ect). We had purchased frozen pizzas to cook, however when we started the oven – there was a lot of smoke that filled the room. We turned the oven off and called the villa HQ, however they did not get back to us. This was disappointing, but we did not let it ruin our trip. Unfortunately, we had to discard of some of the food that we had purchased and were unable to cook. There is a common area with a TV and cable. I would recommend bringing an Amazon Firestick to watch streaming service while you are there as the cable channels are limited. There are two rooms with queen size beds and a bathroom for each room. The beds were comfortable and I did not see any signs of bed bugs (there was a review that swore that they saw bed bugs – was possibly a disgruntled prior employee). The water from the shower does smell like there is increased iron in the water because it’s well water – however it’s not a big deal. The smell doesn’t stick to you after you shower – so people just need to get over this. In terms of value, I was very happy with the villa, but it really is unacceptable that the oven causes that much smoke to fill the villa. We were in villa 49 for what that is worth. There was a practice putting green/chipping green in our backyard as well as a charcoal grill (grill utensils/charcoal/lighter fluid not provided). Overall, I would grade the villa as a solid 7/10 and I was happy with the living arrangement. I have uploaded some pictures of the villa. 2. Courses: The courses were fantastic and offered a wide variety challenges and play style. The pace of play was great for all four days (Thursday through Sunday) as each round was roughly 4.25 hours or shorter depending on time of day. The beverage cart at every location were very scarce, which was a huge negative. I would highly recommend buying drinks at the bar prior to starting your round to ensure that you have enough beer/water. a. Gull lake east/west: great elevation changes, fairway and greens are well kept. Green speeds are slow (course manager said this was on purpose to speed up pace of play for amateur golfers). Great views and pretty wildlife. The biggest negative was that the rough was sometimes in bad shape with areas of dirt. Overall rating of the gull lake courses: 8/10 b. Stoatin Brae: Best course on the property and worth the price of admission. Links style course with a lot of prairie grass bordering the holes. Expect to lose a few balls. The greens are immaculate. The green speed is fast. The views are amazing. I personally loved this course and rate this as 10/10. c. Beford Valley: Very nice course, well-kept fairway, greens, and rough. Fast greens, similar to Stoatin Brae. Tight course that will force a lot of recovery shots if you miss the fairway. Every single green is protected with at least two sand bunkers. It’s a challenging course, but it’s very nice. Rating: 9/10 d. Stonehedge North: This was probably my least favorite of the courses, but it’s still in good shape. This course has three par 3, three par 5, and three par 4 on the front and back which was a fun change of pace. This course as just a little more boring in terms of layout and elevation changes when compared to the others. Rating: 7/10 e. Stonehedge South: This was probably my second favorite course. It can get tight with a lot of trees bordering the fairway at times, but the elevation changes are fun. The greens are faster than the gull lake courses. Course is in great shape with not as much dirt in the rough like at the gull lake courses. Rating: 9/10 Food: Lake view bar food is very good. Highly recommend South Kitchen restaurant around the corner 4/5 stars. Great value. Would return!
We had an excellent long weekend of golf. We stayed in the regular villas. We played Stoatin Brae, Stonehenge South and North and the East and West courses at the resort. All were in very good condition... My only suggestion is to instruct the grounds crew when they mow the tee boxes to reinstall the markers, so you can tell what color the marker is from the cart path. I eventually started turning them throughout the round, so it would be easier for other groups that day.
The group that I organize a trip for has now completed five highly successful years at Gull Lake, and we plan on keeping it going for years to come for a variety of reasons! First of all, the staff: Michelle is on her game and works so well with the rest of her team to make everything run as smoothly as possible for us. With 48 guys to manage, she makes the details so seamless. Going the extra mile with additional support while on-site (setting up tables and chairs, tent, corn hole, ice, catering etc). We are very thankful for how well they take care of us! The courses: Perfect for the wide range of skill levels we have from scratch golfers to guys shooting 130. The courses are well maintained, beautiful and provide us with top notch service and senses of humor. For the accommodations, caliber of golf, service and price we are provided at Gull Lake, I consider it an absolute must-do golf destination.
Excellent golf resort 6 eighteen courses each has its own charm and challenge on site condos and cottages
Really enjoying our membership to all six of the courses. Images are from Gull Lake View East and West courses, with some of the wildlife you can enjoy while playing. All of the courses are in really good shape this year.
Excellent accomodations, courses were in great shape.
The course’s are nice, the Villas are far from modern. Somewhere between a Red Roof Inn and Motel 6. I don’t know what’s in the water but you get a strong metallic smell when taking a shower. I’m also not sure what housekeeping does, I had a previous tenants used shampoo and soap left in the shower my entire 4 day stay.
Visited for a weekend of golf, played 5 of the 6 course and stayed in their condo. The condos were recently updated and were nice. The courses we played were really nice and well taken care of. Food on the course was good.

Very cool! Great way to see Ducks, Canadian Geese and Swans! Lots of cool plants and a nice walk to take too! There is also a spot for pheasants and other bird like that
Some of the best diner food Iâve had, the biscuits and gravy were fire, the pancakes were crispy yet fluffy. Service was fantastic. My partner and I ordered so much food, and ate pretty much all of it. It was so good we couldnât stop eating after
Loooooved this park! Downside was it's a long walk to the bathrooms for most sites. The beach is not walking distance but a very close and easy drive. Clean water, but there is a lot of goose poop due to all of the geese. We just shoveled it away. Th
I shared the French dip and sweet potato fries with a friend. It was good. Salads were good and so was the soup. The Fish Fry Friday was probably the best meal.
