We stayed at the Guest House Inn from August 28 to September 1 due to the unavailability of our original hotel reservation upon arrival. After spending 45 minutes driving in the dark, we discovered this hotel. The reception informed us that the only available rooms with two beds were located on the freeway side of the building, so we booked the room and unpacked, only to find a lack of hanging space for our clothes. We returned to reception and were given a luggage rack to hang our clothes on. Although we could hear traffic noise throughout the night, we managed to sleep. The first night, our towels were replaced and the bed was made, but the service declined thereafter. On the second night, no towels were changed, the bed was not made, and the garbage was not emptied. Upon inquiry, we learned that housekeeping operates every other day according to policy. By the third day, when the same lack of service occurred, we became frustrated. Reception explained that they were only cleaning rooms for new guests and that our room would not be serviced, citing policy once more. Additionally, while brushing my teeth before checkout, I encountered a cockroach that had emerged from under my hand towel, which had been left on the counter since the previous evening.

Half the rooms face I-5 and are quite noisy. The beds are very hard. The breakfast is nothing to get excited about. The only good thing is it's close to a lot a places where you can get a real breakfast. Stay at Best Western instead.

Interesting place. I’ll start with the good: Pros: -it’s a solid building. very quiet. you won’t hear your neighbors coughing through the walls or the floorboards creaking above you. Walls are well insulated and it was easy to sleep -location is awesome. Right next to a Fred Meyer and also only a 20 minute walk from downtown Bellingham -minisplit blows ice cold, room has a legit fridge (not a meme thermoelectric), and bed/pillows were uncharacteristically comfortable for a hotel Cons: -the “breakfast” was just bizarre. It’s in a locked room which feels like a hospital cafeteria in Belarus. You get cold hard boiled eggs for protein. That’s it. Everything else just the cheapest possible carbohydrate slop. Also had weird warnings about a $50 fine if you try to bring food to your room??? -the check in experience was kinda weird. we got there at 2:30pm and they don’t let people check in until the actual check in time — so you just sort of awkwardly wait with all the other guests who are also waiting for this check in time and then everyone goes at once. Why not just let people check in early? The rooms are clearly ready Overall, it’s good. I would use it again. They clearly have their own way of doing things but I can respect it. As a hotel, it does a good job. Yes it is right next to I-5 but the windows are thick. You won’t hear the cars.

Carpet is dirty, causing room to stink like animals. Oh did I mention that we saw at least fifteen dogs during our four night stay. No clock or alarm clock in the room. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, Continental breakfast is usually just edible. Mediocre at dest, not good. Homeless people living in parking lot. Causing uncomfortable feeling of your vehicle safety. We probably won't be staying there again.

we usually don’t have any problems when we stay here but our last visit wasn’t great. we asked for two extra pillows (it’s hard to watch tv if you’re laying down flat) and they said that they had ran out of them. then one of our bath towels fell on the floor so we requested a new one and they said they didn’t have any clean ones.

Oh boy this place is not that good. I will try to get to everything. First off I will say that the bed was fairly comfortable and the windows open. But that is about the only nice thing I have to say about this facility. Let's start off with this, check-in is at 3pm regardless if your room is ready. You can get in early....if you pay a fee. The room we got on the top floor corner was probably the best spot for a room. One side of the building faces I5 and feels like it is in the middle of I5. But we got one on the other side so the road noise was reduced marginally. The carpet was stained, the countertops were burned and chipped. The curtains were ripped and hardly functional. The shower had what appeared to be mold spots and the toilet had a broken lid. Parking is sketchy at best. For the price I feel there are better options in the area.

Everything was great until I turned on my TV. Called about asked front desk if they can swap out my TV and they couldn't so they would transfer me to another room. Problem was, I used the toilet so they couldn't switch me rooms and told me I'll just have to deal with a tv that's not working right. It was wonderful watching a show with 4 lines going down it. The next morning I got locked out of my bathroom, and kid you not, the front desk girl told me I needed to come down to the desk and we'll figure this out, confused and irritated, I went down there then she said ok let's go see if one of these keys will work. Still shocked, and now even more irritated because there was no reason I needed to come down there and do her job for her. She finally reached the manager who came up with her a little later to open it. He didn't say a single word to me, no sorry or apology for the inconvenience. Come to find out, when you open the door all the way, it hits the stopper and locks it instead of the lock going in the hole it was made for. It's getting a 2 star because the room was super clean and was very inviting, cleaning staff deserves a 5 star because they take their job serious and care about the guest. Wish I read the comments before having my company book this hotel.

Zero stars wasn’t an option Good So I found a great deal on a room at the Guesthouse. Great location right next to the freeway with stores and restaurants within walking distance. Bad Upon entering our room we noticed a very odd smell. The window was wide open, the A/C was on and the fridge was open. Upon looking into the fridge there was some very weird looking brown/ orange ice in the freezer and the tray below had brown sludge in it. Then the worst part. My wife turn on the tv to find blood splatters on the tv screen. We immediately left after the 10 minutes we were there. They offered a new room but i declined as after that there was no way I could trust that the rooms were properly cleaned. I will be contacting the GM for a refund as well as the local health department. Always double check everything!
