Very cute inside! Great atmosphere. I got the chicken tortilla soup, so good! I also got a drink I don’t remember what it was called but it was sweet and spicy so delicious. Our bartender/server was so nice, everyone working there had on a smile, loved the energy

Damn that was good!!! We got queso-birria tacos with consomé, lengua tacos, and al pastor. The lengua and pastor came with onion, cilantro, and a lime wedge. The queso-birria however did not come with pickled jalapeños and carrots, it did however have a radish slice. So not 100% authentic but pretty close. In any case it was DELICIOUS and tasted home-made, not mass produced. The main floor had reggaeton music playing a little too loud, but otherwise it was a good atmosphere. Service was quick and corteous. They are bilingual as well.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME….. the food is below mediocre and left a lot to be desired. I ordered two asada tacos and a birria taco. The birria taco looked no different than a regular taco and when I asked them about it they informed me that only the birria tacos ordered with the combo come with cheese and are dipped in aju. My sister ordered chicken tacos and said she never has to have it again. The shells began to fall apart as soon as I picked the taco up. The best thing we had were the margaritas and those were even subpar. Save yourself the time, the energy and the money and just get Taco Bell. You will be glad you did!!!

This was my first experience with this restaurant so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t read any reviews in advance I just checked out the menu and ordered pickup because it was convenient for me on lunch break. I ordered the “birria” burrito. I love birria anything so I didn’t think this would be a problem. Anyone who served me on the phone and in person was very nice, however I don’t think that you can really call what I got a birria burrito. They did not provide a cup of the consome for dipping the burrito. Also there was none cooked onto the tortilla of the burrito either. The meat was that beef stew type of meat, but there was barely any of the juice that you would expect with birria - the meat was kind of dry and lacked the flavor I was looking for. I called the restaurant back to ask about it and they stated yes this is what I ordered and no it does not come with the consome, but I could always ask to get some in the future. Now I’m unsure if adding it on would cost more, but I already paid a pretty penny for the burrito. That was all I ordered and it doesn’t come with like the salad or side of rice/beans. My total was 16.59 which is kind of high for a sad birria burrito if you ask me. I would be willing to try again because maybe I just went in with the wrong expectations, but I can’t say I’d highly recommend it to someone else. I was fed and that’s about it. Kind of disappointing.

My wife and I ate here recently for lunch on a rainy day. There was no one else there but the waitress was very nice and attentive. I loved the surprise little cup of bean dip that came with the chips and salsa. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and they were as good as I’ve ever had before. My wife ordered the nachos and the cheese sauce over it was awesome. The prices were reasonable and I would come back for drinks next time. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Update 11/10/23: Our molcajete was good, but I was charged $43 for a jumbo skinny margarita. I've had it here before and it wasn't that expensive. I asked to confirm the price. They confirmed it was accurate because it was a skinny margarita. Until they fix the crazy price, there are other places with similar food.

4.6⭐️ I’m Mexican, and a San Diego, Californian, so I’m picky about my mexican food. I try not to, but I do compare all Mexican food to the food from home. I shouldn’t, it’s just unfair. 1st timer here at Guapo’s! I didn’t want my food to be soggy and cold, so I ordered there to go. To my surprise it was very, VERY GOOD! I got the carne asada fries, my husband got the carne asada torta. Both were pretty huge servings, easily shareable. I am happy I finally got to try them, and they didn’t do us dirty! 🤣 Good food, good service, we will definitely be going back to try more! Highly recommend!!

The complimentary chips and salsa/dip that was full of flavor. Had the California Burrito and it's one of the better ones that I've had in Hampton Roads. The fried tilapia was okay and so was the Taco salad. Updated the review from my last visit. This time it was good, but not spectacular. May try again.
