I decided to stop since I've never been here. I was a little disappointed that the tours didn't start till the afternoon so I missed getting to see inside. But the grounds around the lighthouse are nice and I took a few pictures. There is also the Lighthouse beach right close by. But be aware, it's a small parking lot and you must pay to park there. The machine is down close to the end of the lot near the beach entrance. $3.00 per hour, so if you plan on visiting the lighthouse and spending time at the beach, it could get expensive. Not sure where else to park?

Nice place to visit. The lighthouse was not open when we visited. During summer,you need the pass to enter the small beach. Free for Evanston residence. Non residence can get the pass from community center or the city office.
We brought our new Navy Sailor here for photos and site, seeing .
I didn’t go in but we enjoyed the walk on the beach and we took some pictures as well.

Beautiful. Right on Lake Michigan! Walk/bike/run paths. There's a lagoon with ducks. There's a place to grill, if you so choose. Plenty of parking. $3/hr for non-Evanton city sticker holders. I will definitely return. Loved it!!
