My husband I were looking to eat at a "mom and pops" type restaurant on our way to an appt. We found Gresa's Cafe and decided to try it out. From the moment we walked in til the moment we walked out, we both were highly impressed by the friendly & courteous staff. The prices were very reasonable. The portions were huge. Our waitress brought us a box before we had said anything to her knowing we wouldn't be able to eat it all. I told the waitress that we would definitely be back.
This is a great little Cafe. The prices are reasonable, and portions big. The gypsy with a side of sausage gravy was amazing. The spinach and Feta omelet add mushrooms were great too. The service was also top notch, thanks for a great breakfast.
Small Town cafe with a very laid back atmosphere, suitable for the entire family. PROS- The menu contained a great deal of variety that says these cooks earn their paychecks almost as well the taste of the entrees. Our waitress was seasoned which helped ensured we ordered correctly as she prompted us thru choices of various sides. We weren't aware toast came with the hobo and gypsy, but even if we hadn't got it I must say one of the best things about this diner is the very reasonable prices. It's very rare for any eatery to maintain a fair price in an industry as competitive as the restaurant business. The price added to the comfort of the atmosphere as I imagined the owners where people u could trust. The interior is bit outdated, but I was more impressed that manners & hospitality did not seem to be.
CONS- outdated but not dirty decor, the hobo was a smidge bland, I would accept the offers of hot sauce our wait staff suggested. And finally, although it appeared to be cleaning solution staff had sprayed to sanitize/clean the toilet paper/towel dispensers in restroom, whatever it was had dried be4 wiped and make the restroom surfaces area dirty. As many people look at the bathroom and judge the kitchen cleanliness based on this, I recommend Wiping away the possibility for dramatic complaints..
No frills, family friendly place. Gyro meat was melt in your mouth delicious! Hubby's catfish sandwich was huge! He said it was hot, coated and cooked perfectly!
Great food and it’s a cute cozy small cafe! The Irvin burger (in photo) is really tasty! I seriously recommend stopping here if you haven’t tried them already!!
Amazing food for a great price, and our waittress was really sweet, over all a nice family diner expeirenece
Food and service is Awesome! So are the prices! Yummy!
Still as wonderful as it was when we first ate there!
Gresa's is the classic small town cafe of your dreams. The menu is large, which can sometimes be concerning, but everything I've eaten here has been delicious. Portions are very generous and prices are very reasonable. It's not a fancy place but it doesn't have to be, it's that good. Well worth the drive from Carbondale ... or even further!
