Read a review earlier stating a customer had bed bugs but i wasn’t too worried, until i set my phone down on the nightstand and saw a small brown and round bug scurry under one of the drawers. THANKFULLY IT WAS NOT A BED BUG, IT WAS A BABY ROACH but i almost went crazy looking for it. This place needs cleaning. i found small amounts of black hair in the bedding and even a daddy long legs in the corner of a night stand on the other side of the bed.
This place is the nastiest place I have ever seen, burn holes all over the carpet, dirty stained up sheets and blankets, dirty as hell, bed bugs, roaches, fleas and it's 50.00 a night, it isn't even worth 5.00, there is so many drugs in that place that they should close it down, a lot of people don't just come in and out of your room for the hell of it !! Not to mention the office stinks and you can't understand a word the guy says..
Surprisingly enjoyed my visit although the rooms are kind of out dated they were pretty clean and they do offer wifi. They're located in walking distance of a few different gas stations, a pizza shop, and a Dunkin donuts which is super convenient. The customer service was what I enjoyed most though!! The people at the front office were all so friendly anytime I had a question or needed anything & the maids were all super sweet with friendly greetings each morning. If you're coming through Greencastle and need a place to stay at 100% recommend this hotel!!!
Was not going to post a review on the place but the owner called me and accused me of steeling towels. I’m a truck driver and have stayed in places across the country and have never taken ANYTHING from anyplace. I always try to support local small places instead of the chain places but that’s going to change. Don’t waste your money on this place. Room was dirty and NO HEAT IN ROOM. For the record I DID NOT TAKE HIS TOWELS. Take your business elsewhere.
It is an awful place. I would not recommend to anybody unless you are down to your last dollar. The rooms are dirty. You can Snell the mold as soon as you walk in the door. The owner is a nice person, but don't make him mad. Our AC unit started leaking water all over the floor, his handyman came in to look at it and told me he had a new account to put in there, but he never did. It was not a good time. The sinks are pretty lol. Holes in the mattress cut with what looked like a knife, the dresser drawers were so dusty on the inside, I couldn't put my items in there. There were huge stains all o er the floor. The chairs were fabric and had nasty stains and cigarette burns on them. We stayed for a week and 2 days because we absolutely had to. The whole time there were fleas juming around and biting us... Ewwwwwwwwwww
To start off this horrible experience, when we opened our door we were hit with the smell of cigarettes. Overlooking that, when we sat down on the bed we were instantly being bitten by fleas. Wanting to get a shower to clean myself of these bugs I was standing in water up to the calf of my leg because the shower would not drain. The shower had obviously not been cleaned in a long time. I had to pull a giant clump of hair out of the drain to get the water to drain at all. There was dried puke in the ice bucket and on the side of the bed. Where there used to be a peephole on the door it is taped up with clear tape. I should have taken the attitude of the manager(/owner?) as a warning sign of how horrible this place would be. I used to live in an abandoned house in Los Angeles, CA so I thought I could stay ANYWHERE! Guess I was wrong. If you are ever in a position where you have nowhere to go for the night besides here, just find a parking lot and stay in your car.
Well first off don't be surprised if you wake up and have big bites all over you. My girlfriend and I stayed there one night and couldn't sleep cuz we kept itching all over. We woke up the next morning and had bumps all over us and the itching was terrible. The floors are disgusting your feet will be black from walking around seems like they haven't been cleaned for years. And the check out is at eleven but room service will come around an hour or hour and a half earlier and wake you up and ask you if you are leaving. Service is terrible I definitely recommend spending a couple extra dollars and finding other accommodations if you are planning on staying around this area.
we stayed here on Sunday 12/8/13 only because it was snowing so hard and icing up and the police closed down rt 81 and we couldn't get home,. it cost me 50 bucks for the room. it was great for a 1 night stay there was a restaurant/bar on the property which was great the food was good for the price. I would stay here again if in the area or in a pinch. the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. the people who managed the hotel were nice and friendly.
Cute & very popular little diner in Greencastle. Found it on Google Maps when in town at the coffee roaster. Food was delicious, service fast & friendly. Busy on a tuesday late morning but didn't wait long for food and no wait to be seated.
