Great Swamp Conservancy - Park in Canastota - 8375 N Main St, USA

This place is really great. They had some sort of annual festival and we just happened to be passing through. They had all sorts of unique vendors and informative stations. One guy had incredible birdhouses like I've never seen. Excellent works of art. Another guy made log cabins out of cat tails. It is more than a 3 year process to dry them out. They had tractor rides, horse rides and great trails. They have a bird watching station. A great place for all ages.

A fantastic place to learn about nature. There are hiking trails that lead you past ponds with informational plaques. This turns into a boardwalk thru the wetlands. Wear boots and binoculars as there's also a rookery there. Keep an eye out for their events as well!

Great area to observe birds. Very nice hiking trail and a boardwalk to walk through the swamp. Very nice people running an area for you to see wildlife and they have programs where they teach you things if you are interested.

Wonderful place. Today was the first visit for my Labrador and me, and we were impressed. Friendly people, well maintained trails, family and pet friendly. Can't wait to go back and do the other part of the trail.

This was a neat place to go for a stroll. The swamp area was very cool but also very muddy. Walked into water up to my ankles at one point but overall a great experience.

Well marked trails. An excellent place if you are interested in seeing blue herons and their babies in a nesting atmosphere. Interesting community and educational programs, and very knowledgeable volunteer staff. A nice place for an afternoon Outdoors

I love the Great Swamp. Mike and Rusty are awesome people and all the volunteers absolutely love it there. I helped in the Lady Bug Cafe for their Spring Migration Festival. It was a beautiful day, lots of people, smiles and laughter all around!
