Great for trails and running, a day by the river. The fish were smalll threw them back
This park is a hidden gem in downtown Richmond Virginia! Trails, the James River, interesting history, people walking and riding bikes, educational signs, trains, bridges, unique views of the city skyline and water features, bathrooms, flowers, nature & peaceful surroundings can all be found here along with easy. Free parking on site and across the street at less busy times. I enjoy my visits here as it is very relaxing and there are always kind, friendly folks about.
Cool park with some fun trails to explore. It's neat to learn the history of the locks, and it's close enough to go on the capital trail after exploring here. Just be sure to arrive early on weekends because the parking lot fills up fast! Only complaint is there was a bit of litter everywhere in the park, but still a nice place to explore.
This park is next to the capital trail and also connects to chapel hill park which is very close by and will give you access to the James river. This park is a nice spot to see some good scenery , has picnic benches available and also decent spot to launch a kayak , parking is free and is limited to approximately 25 spaces or so
Such a neat place in beautiful RVA. History, shade and access to the river. Parking lot is often full because of it being an access point to the Capital Trail.
This park has free parking right at the entrance. It’s dog friendly so we brought our dogs. They’re supposed to be on leash but we did see one man with his dog off leash while there. At least the dog was well behaved. The river views are beautiful. Lots of hiking/walking on trails of this 11 acre island. There was quite a bit of litter of which some could be washed up there from the river. You can access the river from several spots. Many people fish there. I will definitely be back.
Nice place but not much parking....there is parking in the surrounding streets. Small park...with used condoms on the ground in the muddy wooded area...eeeek. Nice walk on trail...along the river. Will be back for a slightly challenging (but not that hard, im just out of shape)bike ride.
I like this place for the many friendly people who come fish here. As a newcomer to Richmond it was a blessing to talk and communicate with the masters of these waters. I wished there was more access. There is a lot of mud and silt on the other end of water access restricting good casts. I am happy for whatever is provided too.
I love Texas beach .the bridge there is closed but itâs a path crossing the creek a lil ways down the main trail .be warned this path is not for the non active types but if you donât mind getting down and dirty with nature then youâll love it
Jefferson park provides something for everyone. I visited on a Sunday morning, and it wasn't crowded. There is a short path for walking, and a couple of playgrounds if you are trying to keep children entertained. I also liked the bodyweight exercises
SIX DEDICATED PICKLEBALL COURTS. Beautiful painted courts. All you need is a ball and a paddle. These courts are LIGHTED until 11:30pm! Plenty of people play, even late!
This is Chesterfield's all encompassing park, offering a wide variety of activities that cannot be found elsewhere in the county. Most of the amenities in the park are well maintained, though the park as a whole is a little bit outdated. The Nature C
Great venue, owned by the city. This house features a small kitchen and two bathrooms. It easily holds 60 or more people seated and there is a large hearth at the front of the room. There are mature trees next to the house and it is conveniently loca
A fairly basic park with a typical short trail around the athletic fields. Looked it had gotten some love around the community center recently, and the neighborhood is surprisingly interesting. The futsal courts were also a strange surprise, although
It's a nice place to visit and enjoy the view of lake, lots of ducks and geese to feed. Paddle boat's to have fun. We can do walking, jogging or just sit and relax.
Ancarowâs Landing is truly a Gem in RVA, though it needs a bit of TLC. The area is fabulous for various activities on the James River. Ancarrowâs Landing shares a connection with Rockets Landing, Flood Wall, and Canal Walk.
