Nice mix of sand and beach stones. Clean. Good parking and toilets across the street.
Traveled from Jackson MI to rock hound for agates: ) well worth it! This was one of the best stops !! Must go for rock hounders. Very beautiful & a good place to swim.
Wow! So beautiful! Great place to stop and take in the scenery and a few pics.
We visited this beach during our family trip to the UP while a bit of a rugged walk down the beach the waves water and rocky shoreline are truly breathtaking. if your in the area i would highly recommend checking out this beach and possibly take a dip in the waves if your feeling adventurous. that being said the beach is not calm or ideal swimming for those not accustomed to rougher water.
An amazing place to check out Lake Superior. The high lake levels have eroded much of the beach, and a lot of it is no longer sandy. Still a sight to behold though! Plenty of parking at the established lots off of M-26. The biggest parking area has outhouses.
Another beautiful spot to stop along your way up the Keweenaw peninsula. We stopped at the stairs and went down to the beach. Beautiful bay and certainly worth the effort of going up & down the stairs. If you keep going north a little bit you’ll come to an additional parking area that less stairs and has restrooms.
Fantastic powder sand beach. Don't see many beaches with that quality of sand except for the ocean beaches. Great place for the kids to jump in the water. Took off one star for the horrible smell coming from both bathrooms that are in the parking area. They needed a good cleaning. Will be back again when in the area.
Nice beach! Parking right across the road and a latrine type bathroom. The water was chilly, but that's to be expected. We visited on a Friday in August and it was pretty empty.
Cool little beach, great place to view sunset (at least in the summer months, when it sets more to the northwest; can't speak to what it's like in winter months. Probably frozen.). Rocks are smooth but still can be slow to trudge through. We thought
So glad we stopped in! The freshly-baked wheat bread and blueberry pie were both amazing! Also really enjoyed the excellent cookies and we are anticipating the jam as we havenât tried it yet. Such an unassuming little place, but had to stop and che
Pristine Lake Superior shoreline. Gorgeous sand beaches, beautiful rock formations and rustic roadside facilities. Make sure this is on your list of places to go while in the U.P.
This is a great place and a great location. Easy to get to and on a good corner of the street. Very cool on the inside, they sell ice cream, food, souvenirs, etc. I had a shake. It was a good consistency and I love how they give you wider straws for
Best burger I've had in a long time! Got the Buffalo blue cheese cooked medium. Better beer selection than expected as well. Will 100% be back, and cannot wait.
