We recently hosted a welcome party the day before our wedding at Great Marsh Brewing and we can’t say enough about how great Dan and his staff were throughout the process. We knew early on we wanted to host the event there because the location and space are fantastic. We did run into a few issues getting started (a year ago), as management changed hands a few times over the past year, but in the end we got everything sorted out once Dan took the lead and it was a great experience. During the planning, we were able to customize our menu and Dan worked with us to accommodate allergies and other food restrictions of our guests. We had several calls with him and prior to our event to make sure everyone was on the same page. The night of, we were able to arrive early to set-up some decorations to really make everything special. We were really pleased with everything. The food and beverages were fantastic and everyone told us how great of a time they had at the party. In particular, everyone was complimenting the tots, mac & cheese, and veggie burgers. We would definitely recommend Great Marsh Brewing for any party you want to host or just to pop in for a meal and beer.

Really cool brewery. The space is massive, with plenty of space and seating. Didn't try any food, but the beers were varied and everything we tried excellent. The views of the surrounding area from the second floor were also very nice. Would recommend a visit!

Great building. Wonderful views. Beers seemed to be more German focused. Enjoyed the brews and bites. Kid friendly. Lots of games to keep everyone busy and engaged!

Absolutely loved our bartender here! He was such a ray of sunshine and had a sense of humor that fit my warped mind perfectly! I had a Flight Virgin with me and desperately needed to get that fixed. We couldn’t have found a better place to have that happen! We started outside in their stunning patio. It’s a seat yourself deal and the servers come right too you. Outside they do bar snacks and pizza and Not the flights (glass + drinking + outside = no bueno). We had just eaten and were really there for a couple flights so we made our way inside to the bar. The decor is Awesome! A lot of nostalgic 70’s & 80’s memorabilia and Hairband baseball T’s all framed around the up stairs area! We decided to check out the everything pretzel which was a really great idea!! It was such a perfect fit with the beers we had! We definitely had a great time and hope to be back again if we ever venture up that way!

Great Marsh - good beer. Good food. Great space! We were vacationing on Cape Ann and happened by Great Marsh brewery. They have a variety of beers in many different styles, so it is likely there is something for everyone. Of the beers we tried, their session ipa is a great one, Cisco and mosaic hops make it a clean, crisp, citrusy drink - heat for the summer or any season for that matter. The tap room and restaurant are purpose built into and around the brewery. Walking in you you can see the operation at work, hear the canning of a new batch, and take in the warm smells of yeast and malt - a feast for all the senses. The tap room sits on the ground floor and includes and outdoor patio area. The bar and restaurant (sousviderie) are one flight up and wrap around the towering barrels and production floor. A cat walk allows you to view the entire operation from overhead. Menu features a variety of burgers, tacos and Mac and cheese… all cooked sousvide style. I am my partner ordered the spicy fries… which were a great and flavorful start to lunch. We the ordered two different tacos so we could try a variety. The Caribbean pork and spicy chicken were both delicious compliments to the great space and good beer. Worth checking out!

Stumbled upon this new joint after a bit of antiquing. Nice deck and big inside sports bar feel sitting area with clear view of their beer making stuff. Their NEIPA V10 was quite delicious, but the Porter was unusually weak for me. The food was good. Highly recommend the fried calamari. It's got a good batter and heat. I will go back again.

First off... The location is excellent - right next to Woodman's, so you know this place will be swamped in the nice weather. The building is super frickin' cool. Taproom on the first floor right next to the brewing system(s), and a restaurant on the second floor but open to below to oversee the brewing floor. Not to mention all the awesome nerdy music and SciFi memorabilia decorating the walls. I would love to meet the owner! The beer is great - excellent traditional German styles, and a unique and broad offering of newer styles (read: they do a lot of good IPAs too). The food in the restaurant upstairs is absolutely amazing. The fried clams and the tuna tostada's were the highlights for me. I will be back. Hopefully soon, before it's too crowded to get a spot at the bar. Do not pass this place up. 100% worth a visit.

Great views of the marsh from the second floor of this monstrosity. The building overwhelms the surrounding area and is quite imposing. Apparently, Essex has zero zoning laws and it shows. Parking is extremely limited and the spots are tiny. The beer is very good; cocktails & food available on 2nd floor. Clam chowder was EXCELLENT. We also had pretzel... underwhelming (cheese sauce was more of a thick paste than a sauce). The owners obviously spent some serious dough on the building; the interior is impressive, showing the functioning brewery and it’s a cool industrial space and very well finished, but it doesn’t blend with the surroundings.

Outstanding seafood and kids meals were delicious. Baked haddock boat w/ onion rings were great. Both The fried calamari and clam chowder soup were the best I’ve ever had. The kids chicken fingers were great too, lightly battered and fried.

Great new place on the water. There are a variety of places to sit, indoors, on the deck or at the bar. We elected to sit at the bar given the time of year. Jesse poured some great cocktails and the food is way above average. I had the shrimp and gri
