Great Lakes Coney Island - American restaurant in Farmington - 38425 Grand River Ave, USA

The food was good, came out fast, and most importantly (for me anyway) hot. I appreciate that more than anything. The server was really nice and attentive even though she was the only one. Not a very big place, but welcoming. 🙂 Good prices too!

I don’t write many reviews but went here last week with a coworker for lunch. I had a veggie burger which was listed on the menu for $10.85. The waitress asked if I wanted fries so I said “sure” - not knowing if they were included or how much they were. I also got a Diet Coke. I was flabbergasted when I was presented my bill for $19.50. Out the door, with tip, for $23.50 for lunch from a Coney Island. While I appreciated the speedy service, friendly waitress and vegetarian section of the menu, at those prices, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

A great Detroit Coney Island Restaurant in Farmington. We order lunch from here a lot and decided to dine in today. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which is quite large. The food has always come out fast and this was no exception. Everything is delicious, the sandwiches and salads are phenomenal and their breakfast all day is always great too. The prices are decent and the portions are great. Highly recommended.

We just had brunch here today and it was fantastic! The atmosphere is very clean, family oriented and the staff all had a positive, upbeat attitude and had fun while working-the vibes/atmosphere were chill, and they cared about taking care of customers/proving excellent service. Our waitress was one of the best we’ve ever encountered (her manner was very friendly, easygoing, and she was prompt in service, and knowledgeable about the menu items and timing of food, and excellent at multitasking! She’s a gem!). The food was delicious: sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked (not burnt), the scrambled eggs were fluffy, even the broccoli in the skillet was perfectly cooked (not too soft or crunchy), and the service/food was fast + hot! The owner was on site and you could tell that he and the staff work really well as a team! These family run restaurants are very hard to come by in todays world of bad chain restaurants, so we will definitely be back to support this “mom and pop” diner, with great prices as well. The decor looks like a 1950’s diner which is really cute!

Was out in the area and decided to check this out. Restaurant was clean and service was great! They made us feel like family. Portions were just the right size. The philly steak eggs benedict was perfection as well as the corned beef hash! I also had to snap a pic of their ranch, it was pretty good. Definitely recommend this place and will be back.

We had our son's first birthday party here and they were excellent! They catered amazing food and were very helpful with set up and tear down! Overall, great experience!

I travel all over to find a Greek chicken salad that no one seems to even make anymore and then GREAT LAKES was introduced into my life. Ahhh They are fun, loving, care about every customer, and there food is EXCELLENT!!! ....... Update: What's higher than 5 Stars 🤩 July 20,2023 I just ordered Pecan Pancakes Look, "Y'all better come get you some of these". It is RARE for places to still offer pancakes or waffles and actually have the toppings or fillers cooked INTO them; instead of cheaply putting them on top. Come get these Pecan Pancakes y'all. Add eggs and a drink. 🥞 A half of order made me so satisfied. I ate them and forgot to take a picture first. Box just empty now😋

This place is great. Super tasty. Their eggs Benedict selection is awesome. Seriously good food. The a/c is kind of lacking but the atmosphere is great, you can hear chatter of locals who clearly frequent this coney island. You can view the cooking behind the bar. Overall great experience, while I probably will not be back as I'm from out of town, I would not pass up the opportunity.
