I wanted to go for a short hike not too far from home and found Dead Man's Hollow Conservation area on Google maps and I am really happy I went. We parked at the Boston Ballfield Park and there was plenty of parking and a restroom. There are also a gift shops and restaurant/ice cream place. We started on the Great Allegheny Passage trail and then moved to Dead Man's loop where we encountered this super cool albeit creepy abandoned building. From there we walked the green trail and parts of the purple, red, and yellow. The table rock at the intersection between the purple and the red trails was pretty neat. The purple and the yellow trails can be very steep (they go up and down the hillside), we haven't walked the red because it goes further but we'll do it next time for sure. The hike is relatively easy, moderate in some sections, the trails are visible but not very well marked which makes me think that in fall it won't be that easy to find them. The trails go across the creek many times but I don't know how full it gets; it was pretty empty when we went and it was very easy to cross it. Bugs were crazy but it has nothing to do with the park itself, I suggest to wear sunglasses and a brimmed hat to make the hike bearable or you'll have a million flies in your eyes by the end of it. We encountered only other 2 people and it was the last Sunday if July around 2pm. There will be more people, especially bikers, on the Great Allegheny Passage though. Our hike was 4.11 miles and took us 2 hours with some stops to take photos and let my dog play in the creek a bit. Definitely a nice place for an easy and quiet walk in the woods. I'll go back.

This was a restful stopping and meet point along the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail. There were a lot of tree shade for bike and a long break. There was a short walk to shops and restaurants. One of the two restrooms did not work. There were two water fountains for filling up.

Beautiful and quiet walking/biking trail along the GAP. DEAD man's trail has some interesting information boards with history of that part of the trail.

Nice hike, some key features are an off trail waterfall, a pond, some old building ruins. And if you believe in such things (I don't) some haunting. Plus a tunnel to walk through.

The Boston PA stop on the GAP is a nice stop on the way. There is information that shows the entire GAP trail, which is great for folks that are just there for the local outdoor space, makes them think where to go from there. Everyone should check it out. You can just go for yourself! (~);}

We love this trail! For our last ride, we started at the Boston Bridge and traveled 10 miles to Suttersville where we stopped at Yough Twist for soft serve ice cream before pedaling back. On this length of trail there are places to go to the bathroom, picnic tables in shelters, and benches to take a break on.

Bike rental nearby(it's growing, getting more bikes too) short and long term parking here. Chemical toilets and two food places right next to trailhead (one is typical old school den/bar) There's even a B&B next to the trail. More like a guesthouse with rooms for 3-5 people.

Great place to bike. Took my soon to be 9y.o. granddaughter, and we biked 29.15miles. and she loved it. Her first time on this trail.

It was really fun to see the different things they have. They have a pig from Noah ark from Kennywood. They have a nice little setup for g.c. Murphy's and other stores that used to be in McKeesport. They have some pictures throughout the building and
