Gray Plaza Motel - Motel in West Frankfort - 1010 W Main St, USA

We stayed here in December 2023 before Christmas. Although the hotel is old and shows its age, the rooms were very clean, the bedding was clean, the room smelled clean, the hot water was good, and the bath tub and toilet were super clean. They allow pets which was nice and the price was very reasonable. For someone to have a place to lay their head down and sleep and leave the next day. It’s perfect. Very nice front desk. Burger place literally across the street was good

It was a neat room. It had an old pullout sofa in there. It was just that the lock seemed flimsy and I didn't feel safe. I read in other reviews that the owners don't seem to mind that there are cockroaches. The air conditioner barely worked and I knew I wouldn't sleep well there.I stayed long enough to eat and let the my cat eat and go to the bathroom ( in his litter box of course). If the owner hadn't told onother guest " so what, cockroaches don't bite". I wpuld have given more stars. I get that hotels get bug problems. But you have to try to control that. I don't trust a hotel where the owners don't see cockroaches as a problem.

If I could rate this a negative 5 stars I would. My room had bedbugs and roaches the whole time I was there and the female owner was very rude and she over charge me $50 a month until I found an apartment. The owner knew I was from Chicago and the locals told me they pay $50 less a month, I stayed until today. I also forgot my cargo cover for my vehicle and a extention, they had my cell phone number and they never called me. When I realized it I went back and they said they threw all of it out. 🤬A cargo cover is not cheap, they could of tried to let me know but they don't care. worst place to stay.

pulled in and met the owner, he was very friendly and a smile. We stayed in room 242, room was clean, fresh linens, comfy beds and pillows. microwave ,mini fridge, bathroom was clean, no coffee pot though, also the commode is a low boy for very small people. I am 6 foot 320 pounds. wifi is fast and I slept great, also had a local county sheriff patrol the parking lot so that's a bonus. No bed bugs or any bugs at all in our room. love these older retro motels. would stay again. also owner has an awesome garden I am sure he would share if asked. thanks.

They charged me a lot more than the listed price. They charged me extra money for a guest and my rate said the price was for 2 people. Then charged me $10 per fee for a service animal. Poor choice. Then, Priceline and booking . Com whom I booked through run you around in circles until you give up.

Visiting West Frankfort for family members funeral.I lived here during the 60's and 70's and this place was the only motel then. Despite age, rooms are nice, clean and quiet. Bed was perfect. Price was good. No wifi was offered by proprietor, who came off as unpleasant. Had my own via a mobile hotspot anyway. When visiting town again, will stay at brothers just purchased home in town, but would recommend this motel to those passing through.

Great place to stay, especially for $65. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. I slept so well I could hardly believe it. The team running this place seems to be doing a great job.

I would never get a room there again! Room was disgusting, the service was horrible, all around , not a good place to spend your money at
