Where are these 5 star reviews coming from? This motel is nothing like it was described on Expedia. Old worn dirty rooms. Just way too much wrong to list. Just imagine your worst fear about a motel room. I was expecting something similar to Motel 6 but it was way worse. There is no desk you have to go to the bar to check in. I waited 20 minutes to check in because only the bartender can check you in and she was more concerned with serving drinks. And the bar is really low rent. I have been in lots of dive bars and this wasn't one of them. Just really loud and trashy. The patrons just looked really sketchy. This place is way off the main road and is behind an old run down looking garage. The parking lot is rutted gravel and really rough.

Came in handy when I got my car destroyed in this small town. Normal friendliness and no fuss employees. Accomdations are your standard motel but cleaner than typical.

Very Quiet, older motel, located off the main road, with excellent customer service, and clean room with many towels. Dogs were allowed, and lots of places to walk.

First room had broken, noisy toilet. Second room had leaky toilet and roaches. We left early.

First, the good:|1. The overall cleanliness was good. The shower, toilet and the sink were very clean. |2. New vinyl flooring in the main room, but it would be nice if it continued into the bathroom.|3. There’s your standard amenities: a small refrigerator, a single cup coffee maker, and a microwave. All you really need for a quick cup of coffee in the morning. |4. It was dog friendly. ||The bad: |1. The parking lot is a mud pit with a million potholes.|2. There is no mat inside the door to wipe your feet after walking in the muddy parking lot.|3. The beds are in dire need of replacement. The boxspring was so disgusting (pictures attached), I tucked towels over it to cover it, so I wouldn’t touch it getting in and out of the bed. |4. The sheets are so old and pilled, they feel like sandpaper.|5. Every time I flush the toilet, I had to take the top off the back of the tank and pull the plunger, or it kept whistling.|Summary|It was a convenient location for where I was going, and the people were very nice, but I will not go back there again, unless they replace all the beds and the linens.

There is zero fine print or undisclosed features. What amenities are stated is what you get. For the price and leniency’s not to mention the great food and bar of the gravity restaurant you get exactly what you paid for and then some. | Just says you should do in any motel room that you may stay in (whether it’s $70 a night or $700 a night) don’t use the top cover of the bedspread, of course. And don’t expect to be staying at the Hilton. It’s warm and clean. It’s safe and convenient. If what you’re looking for is a clean and safe room for less than $100 per night with zero down payment or security posit then I would recommend the gravity inn motel every time

In town on business and knew I would be coming in late and leaving late, no issues finding the motel. The lady that checked me in was most helpful when I advised I’d pay for another night - which is what I normally have to do, she said I’ll just mark you as a late check out. That was top notch in my book. Got to the room the smart lock worked perfect, tv worked and the heat practically turned the room into a sauna which up there Lolol I was ok with. Beds were very comfortable and after 5 hours asleep I was back up getting a nice hot refreshing shower and back out the door. I made it back by 2/3pm to find that even though I wasn’t staying the night and was supposed to already be out of the room they had still straightened up, wish I could have crashed Lolol. I normally have to have my iPad with me when doing inspections I completely forgot it - at a more expensive hotel in Scranton it turned up missing - here it was right where I left it!!!! I’ll take this little motel any and every time I come into town over a bigger more commercialized hotel in Scranton any day. I’m hoping when I come back in April I’ll have time to try the restaurant out, everyone I spoke to while up there said I was doing myself a disservice by not eating there or taking something back with me.

Other reviews state that this is a "no frills" motel experience - I found that to be a gross understatement. This is a restaurant/motel and the motel is basically an afterthought. 12 rooms built in a line on a poured slab along the approach to the eatery. Nothing wrong with that.||Check-In Process:|Upon arrival you have to drive about 100 yards past the motel to the restaurant in order to check in. You could walk it, but it's a dirty gravelly parking lot and you will get muddy if it's been raining. When you enter the restaurant there is no signage that helps you, the motel renter, understand where you need to go. The restaurant hostess will direct you to "go to the bar and ask for Cliff". That's fine, but now I have to wait to catch the busy bartender's attention when all I want to do is just check in and get a key. I'm navigating a room full of rowdy locals and loud music and thinking "what have I gotten myself into?" Eventually this occurs, rather painlessly actually, and Cliff checks my ID and hands me the key. He instructs me to leave it in the room when I check out. No problem. Cliff was very friendly. It's just an unusual check-in scenario for a motel and it caught me off guard.||The room itself was as follows:||First, the Bad Observations:|1. Threadbare carpets, which felt like there was no carpet pad underneath; just the slab.|2. Very thin walls that force you to listen clearly to whatever your neighbors are watching on the TV.|3. One of the two wall-mounted bedside lamps would not switch on (broken switch.)|4. The room *wreaked* pretty badly of cigarette smoke, which they attempted to mask by burning a smoker's candle and then installing a Glade air freshener that was "wide open" on the garment shelf. It did not succeed. The air felt pretty toxic in there and I woke up with a headache. This was probably my biggest complaint about the room.||Neutral Observations:|1. The bathroom floor was ICY COLD. The shower drip mat had to be put in front of the toilet just to be tolerable. This could be alleviated by including two mats in the bathroom instead of just one. (Because a wet mat would not be effective.)|2. The TV was tiny but that's fine. I didn't come here to watch TV.|3. The room was a little dark. (Granted, one light was broken.)||Good Observations:|1. The room had great hot water. There was almost no warmup time.|2. The pillows were surprisingly luxurious.|3. The heat, which we did not use until morning, warmed up the room effectively and quickly.|4. The price was right.||Also Note:|Another thing that needs to be stated is that Waymart is further "out there" than you think, if you have never visited this area. It was a good 20 minute drive from Scranton/I84 and there is very little around in the way of coffee, gas, food, other than the on-premises restaurant. You do pass a couple of wind farms which was neat to see.||It is also about 2000 feet away from a State Prison, which you drive right past on your way into town. That's something the Waymart residents are probably accustomed to, but it gave my family the willies at first, because it's not something we're used to. (We've seen too many prison break movies, I guess. The night passed without a movie-worthy incident, however.)||We drove through the Scranton area twice on our trip. On the way out, I spent more money for a chain hotel that was closer to the interstate and included breakfast. I thought it would be neat to save money and try something more unique on the way back, and so we stayed at the Gravity. The verdict? It was "sort of" neat, and definitely "different". ||However for the ~50 dollars we ostensibly saved, it was not worth the extra driving time, having to make an additional stop (and expense) to find breakfast the next morning, and the reduction in quality of the accommodations, to stay here. In the future, I probably would pay a little more and just stay at another chain hotel right on the Interstate which included breakfast, if I were doing it all over again. No offense toward the Gravity.||That shouldn't take anything away from the "basic motel" experience that Cliff is providing here. I can see the appeal of cruising into a low-cost motel that has a great "all-American" restaurant and bar attached, knocking a few back, on premises, with some good local color to interact with. Another reviewer said this motel merits 2.5 stars and that feels about right. That's not a dig on the Gravity. That's the value level they're aiming for, and they're priced right for it. If I were traveling solo or with a group of guys, and we needed a waypoint on a road trip that had a "real local bar" on premises, I'd totally stay here again... If Cliff promises to air out the room better next time. :)

Delicious pizza at a great price with great service. A lot of good pizza places in NEPA, but this is one of my favorites.
