Was here for 2 weeks for work and stayed in the suites. Suites were nice, very mountain lodge style. The kitchen had pretty much everything. Liked the big patio. Jacuzzi was very enjoyable, laundry room clean and accessible. The scenery is obviously very beautiful.
Really enjoyed my stay here. It's in the woods and very close to the lake. I just drove across the country and this is a nice treat after being on the road so long. The room was clean and the sheets really nice. Lovely dinner at their outside lounge. I would definitely stay here again!!
Had a great experience here, a lodge tucked back in the woods, very peaceful. The room and bathroom were smallish, worked well for the two of us. We ate dinner at the restaurant, it was excellent. The staff for the lodge and the restaurant were great, accessible, good customer service skills. Would recommend this if staying near Tahoe City - - it's tucked back just enough and great for relaxing after a day of adventure on the lake.
Wonderful experience! Thoughtful staff (we were coming off the Tahoe Rim Trail for one night and wanted to do some laundry, front desk clerk offered us his personal laundry detergent as he realized we would not have any). A small and genuine act of kindness that speaks to the whole vibe of the Resort. Great food at the Pub. Great service. Amazing breakfast. Rooms are a teeny bit dated but VERY clean.
I stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room.
Positive: Room was clean and big enough. The breakfast was great. Location is nestled in a forest and close to the Tahoe dam. Most but not all staffs were great.
Negative: The walls are paper thin and it was too noisy on Sunday night. I could hear people talking in across room and walking down in the hallway. Room coffee could be better for the price they charge. Third thing that was unusual to me was while checking in, the front desk staff did not ask me for my photo id to verify that I was who I was saying I was. I waited about 5 minutes for my turn to check in because he was talking about directions to a trail with the guest who checked in right before me and then he answered a phone call. When my turn came, he asked me for my name and then made a face while confirming my name and handed me the key. I guess he didn’t like my name and assumed that I am the correct person. Yes, I do have an unusual name, but Granlibakken is not an easy name to pronounce or remember either. So, if you’re in a service industry, learn how to be respectful to all customers regardless of their race or color or name.
Avoid. Booked a suite at a relatively high price compared to other available options.
The person manning the front desk was rude whenever we called, the rooms were not cleaned (and they did not inform us at check in that we needed to request), location is relatively far away from the city and had no lake view. Rooms are old (the shower knob did not even work), and the wooden blinds completely did not work in blocking the sun.
When visiting Lake Tahoe I want the mountain experience. This resort delivers that. Nestled in the forest among trees and gorgeous surroundings and has such a cozy relaxing romantic serene feel to it all. Dinining there is an amazing experience in an open air roof top feel dining area and bar. We loved it !|The daily breakfast buffet was fantastic and so convenient serving fabulous organic coffee and changing menu every morning from omelettes quiches fresh fruit pancakes French toast poached and scrambled eggs you name it they had it ! Customer service exceeded all expectations in making us happy with our suite location and any needs we had. Zach and the Front Desk staff were amazing. That is huge for us that they remain readily available for us during our stay there. |We will be returning again no question. |We loved it !!!!
Absolutely the best place in Tahoe. Not only do they have spectacular food and beverages at great prices on their open air deck, but they also have so many wonderful amenities of hiking trails that drop you right down to the river or the lake. Zip lines so you can fly through the trees Sledding and skiing in the snow ||Granlibakken is my favorite place to hang out when I’m in Tahoe||They have the friendliest staff and the best service of anywhere I’ve been to in the Tahoe area||I highly highly highly recommend checking it out you will not be disappointed
This is an adorable tucked away cafe that's delicious. Parking is a tight squeeze but don't let that scare you away. They have multiple people working the registers so the lines move fast! We ordered the minestrone soup, carrot cake which was not ove
Will give this place an easy 5 stars. Place is close to everything, quiet and walking distance to the lake. They have very good coffee too!!! We loved waking up and sipping freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Clean rooms and comfy bed. Would love t
