Grandmarc at The Corner - Apartment rental agency in Charlottesville - 301 15th St NW, USA

Moving in at Grandmarc at the Corner, and the apartment was completely trashed. There is rotten food, debris all over, sticky floors, and wet walls. I don’t understand how management would allow anyone to move into the apartment in such a state. Additionally they are not answering the phones. Do not come live here for your own safety or your child’s.

The community here is very friendly which makes the vibe very comfortable. The leasing office is always helpful and expeditious as well. Clean, smells good, cool decorations.

My son experienced the same problem that I see in many of the posts (he lived there in 2022/2023). Condition of the space when moving in is unacceptable, and then they have the audacity to charge you when you move out even after thorough cleaning. You will never get any of your security deposit back, it's their business model. The bathrooms are full of mold due to improper ventilation. They randomly charge fees and you can't get in touch with anyone to discuss the validity of the fees they charge. They direct you to an agency that doesn't know anything and they direct you back to the management team at the building. It goes on for months. It's a game they play until you wear out. I highly recommend never leasing from these building owners, particularly this location.

GrandMarc at The Corner is generally a pretty good place to stay. The rent is pretty good for the area, but since you move in towards the end of the first month, you are forced to pay one whole month's rent. Also, the mailroom sometimes gets flooded (who can blame the workers though) and it can take a few days to receive your package after it arrives. Plus, like any place, you gotta deal with the crazy college student parties every week or so. Lastly, even though there is a roommate matching service, I got matched up with just okay roommates (but this is kinda an anywhere problem, fyi). Nevertheless, the location is actually very great (15 minute walk to grounds). Also, there is free coffee on the main floor, a gym, and a pool, so yeah. Furthermore, I really do like the occasional residential events and Community Rewards program. Plus, all the workers I've met are real chill and easy to talk to.

My apartment was in a terrible state when I moved in, requiring me to clean for hours after having driven 12 hours. I had to argue with management over several weeks for a meager credit to my account, which rapidly dissipated as the complex nickel and dimes you. For example, management gives little leeway if payment does not go through for whatever reason with 2 charges totalling over $150 automatically added to your account by the system. This is a ridiculous concept as the matter could be rectified by improving the user interface of the website or simply permitting the resident to manually enter the payment the next day. Maintenance virtually does not exist as the staff will mark your requests complete without having set foot in your apartment. Finally, my apartment was located right next to the train tracks, a bar, and a club. The noise pollution is so great that I am barely able to get any sleep. All in all, a poor quality complex with strict rules in place to extract as much money as possible all for a good location on campus. I will not be renewing my lease next year.

I've enjoyed living here at Grandmarc! My apartment was sparkling when I walked in! The office staff is very pleasing and they accomadated my needs right away! I enjoy the walk from grounds to Grandmarc... not so far!

This is a great place to live! It’s an amazing location (super close to The Corner and not far from classes). My roommate and I are very pleased with the setup of our apartment and the amenities that the building provides.

Before my sister moved here, we toured GrandMarc and loved the location and amenities. The office staff was very nice and helpful.
