This resort is beyond beautiful, from the manicured gardens to the just renovated rooms. The staff was professional, swift, and worked as a seamless team. Ken was a wonderful help in getting our luggage up and answering questions about the property. The sound of the surf is one of my favorite things and we left our balcony doors open to revel in it often. I simply cannot imagine a better hotel stay on Maui anywhere. The food is expensive but I enjoyed the ultimate convenience of the on-site restaurant and we often did the short walk to the cafe for chicken or breakfast and returned to our room for “room service”. We utilized points for our stay and never felt the slightest chill from the staff over this method. I did notice a cash gratuity to the staff for delivering items to the room or stopping by for housekeeping checkups seemed to be very appreciated. We often turned down housekeeping but did a quick towel trade as we often didn’t want to leave the beautiful room. The deluxe ocean view, with marble bath, is so superlative it puts the destination in destination resort. Why go anywhere else? We did one full day road to Hana with Pīpīwai Trail excursion and one blue helicopter ride. Both truly amazing, but mostly I wanted to be at Grand Wailea, on the balcony, at one of the most beautiful spots on the planet.||Tips: On site Enterprise rent a car may have short hours, I think they close at noon some days, yet if you want to leave before they open at around 8, you can pick up your key envelope the day before and hand it to the valet whenever you like. If you pickup from the valet in the morning and return the car that night, my understanding is there is no parking charge.||Wonderful Stay and I hope to return!

This hotel is absolutely stunning! The grounds are beautiful. The staff was accommodating. However, with it being such a huge property, there is no signage to help you get anywhere. Our first day we spent over 30 mins just looking for the towel hut. The food and drinks were just ok. While I understand the prices of everything have increased in Maui, please make sure you are getting good quality when paying high prices. We always stay in Kihei at a condo but my husband had a conference here. Several things happened in our room that needed attention; when first came into the room and washed our hands, the sink wouldn’t drain (a plumber came right away), toilet seat was broken, air conditioning wouldn’t get down passed 72 and it was very humid in the room and when you made a coffee in the Nespresso machine, the coffee overflowed the cup. (There was no adjusting the cup size on the machine.) Look, we don’t mind paying top dollar for a resort and a room but it better be well worth it! We have stayed in far cheaper rooms that were just as good if not better than this.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at the Grand Wailea, It was great. Beautiful and the people were friendly. We had a picture portfolio done by Pacific Dream Photography one evening. It turned out great. Our photographer took us around to different spots on the resort and got some unique photos. Really enjoyed it, he knew what he was doing. Enjoyed the beach and pool area. They have a nice bar with entertainent during the evening and an awesome breakfast buffet.

We just spent our 5 nights on Maui at this resort. The overall condition of this property is pretty poor with really old facilities, but the room is clean in general. When we first arrived, the valet "Dennis" saw our car approaching and came to us. He helped us offload our baggages to the cart, which was appreciated. When my mother was trying to help him load the last piece, he said "let it go". My mother who doesn't speak English very well was confused and didn't understand what he was saying, so he said "Back Off! THIS AIN'T A MOTEL" with a condescending tone. I am sure he said that because he knew my mother wouldn't understand any way, but I do. Dennis was the only white male I found at the valet stand, and I saw how he treated other guests with respect, so was it because we are asians? I quickly reflected this to the front desk and the manager on duty Geovanni, and they responded quickly. Within 20 mins I got a phone call from the manager saying that this is unacceptable and he will do an internal investigation. But until 5 days later our checkout date, we still haven't heard any apologies from Dennis himself or any resolution to the issue. For a hotel that is more than a grand a night greeting customers like this, they clearly didn't care enough for this matter and hoped I would just let it go. But from an objective view, the hotel offers some great pool activities and beach access especially if you are with kids. With that being said, if you are on a romantic trip, the Fairmont or Fourseason next door at a similar price point will offer much better services, facilities, and experiences.

We have enjoyed the Grand Wailea for years and our most recent trip did not disappoint (Dec 2022). I couldn't believe that in December we could whale watch from the beach. The pools are wonderful; kids love the waterslides. Food was consistently good. The beach and ocean was lovely, and it was easy to arrange trips from the hotel. We ended up doing a whale watching boat trip and a snorkeling trip, which were the highlights of the trip for many. We also really enjoyed an off-resort luau.

Like many other reviews have said, this is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous grounds and pools that is perfect for a family vacation. ||As gold members staying points, we were very pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to an ocean view from the terrace view we had booked. We were able to go in and select from many different ocean view rooms in the app, and chose one on a high (8th) floor in the Haleakala Tower. It was worth it for the great view, even though it took some time to get down to the pool/beach. I recommend getting a room that faces straight out toward the ocean as opposed to at an angle.||We were given a $50/day credit ($25 each) as gold members. It doesn't go super far given the exorbitant prices on premises (think $25 sandwiches, $8 bottles of water, etc.) but it was nice to have a head start toward lunch/cocktails during the day. For everything else, you're better off walking the two minutes to Island Gourmet in the mall next door where you can find great prepared foods, groceries, and beer/wine for reasonable prices. They also have pool floats, sunscreen, snorkel equipment, and other things for much cheaper than the hotel does. ||The shuttle is convenient to get to places in/around Wailea, but you can also use Uber pretty reliably. ||The pools are amazing, and the beach is great too! Beach chairs go quickly because of the relatively small beach, so unless you claim your spot early (before 8-8:30am) you may not be able to get a chair when you want one. The hotel has a good system in place for making sure people don't camp out all day, as you can only leave your items for 30ish minutes before they'll (theoretically) be cleared. Kids will love the many water slides around the property, and the snorkeling right off the shore is really great too. ||Overall, I'd be thrilled to stay here again. The fees and high prices add up quickly (especially for paid stays, which come with pesky resort fees), but that wouldn't deter us from coming back. ||Room for improvement:|- The costs for food/drinks on site are way too high, even when compared to other properties around like the Andaz|- Our room had a

I’ve been coming to this resort for 14 years. Getting a beach chair is ridiculous. The beach is no longer large since some uprising with the locals. For a hotel this size you’re lucky if they put up to 18 umbrellas. Have to get down st 6:30 to get s chair. Also remove chairs at 3:45 even other resorts let u keep them till 5:00. They won’t even put a few chairs on the beach if the tide might come up. Guests aren’t a priority. There convenience is. They take the easy way out at the beach. Told me I could sit on a towel but won’t give me chair. For the cost the guest should come first. New Rules Bought by blackstone group.

Amazing facility located on one of the best beaches in Maui. Perfect for sunsets. Good snorkeling right to the south of the resort. Saw Eels, Turtles, Trigger fish etc... the main restaurant was under renovation while we were there. Also, some hotel renovation is going on but not disturbing. Plenty of good places to eat within a 10-15 min. easy walk. Well kept grounds, room was clean and well maintained. I almost wish that there was a microwave in the room. We got so much food every place we ate and had to leave it behind. The lobby and main common area is breathtaking. Nice selection of shopping on resort that is not price gouging. I bought some Olu Kai sandals and they were the same price as in many of the off-site shopping locations. Nice little market to grab and go or order lite lunches and breakfast items.

I've been there for dinner a few times. It's a nice place, friendly staff. I haven't seen the rooms, but have heard they're a little small, as it was converted from old condo units. Play at the beach, sleep in the room.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The views of the ocean and other islands are beautiful, especially at sunset. The pool was always quiet, even when kids were there. You have to be careful around the pool, though, because the tile is slippery
