Nice hotel with good location. Breakfast was good food but it was brought out in shifts. We had to ask for more coffee, milk for oatmeal, jam for toast. Inconsistent service. Hotel poorly laid out. Nearly had to walk to Kansas to find our room. Too many non English speaking employees who could not answer questions or help us out. Shuttle service was very good. Rooms were nice with excellent shower.

Me and my family went to Grand Hyatt Vail in August 2024. While the hotel itself was fine, our experience was marred by a serious issue that left us quite disappointed. During our stay, my wife cut her toe on the carpet, which resulted in significant discomfort and prevented us from enjoying planned activities. We had intended for this trip to be a relaxing break after her recent military deployment, but instead, it was overshadowed by her injury. Housekeeper told us that these accidents have happened before and the hotel quickly silenced her (clearly she said something she was not supposed to). The hotel, handled it in the worst way as possible, our trip was ruined and they have not even try to compensate us . If you have kids, watch out ! The injury she had would tear a kid toe or foot .

My wife and I are hotel industry professionals from Denver and we booked a few nights at the Grand Hyatt Vail after our Havasupai Falls backpacking trip was post poned due to the recent flash flood. There seemed to be a very difficult group in house, as we witnessed some very rude guests interacting with hotel staff on numerous occasions. We were thoroughly impressed with how the hotel staff took every interaction with grace and didn’t miss a beat with their kindness and professionalism. Especially the front desk staff on duty upon our checkin at approximately 4:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon. I wish I could remember the name of the employee that helped us out but she was fantastic as I’m sure they all are. We were provided a map, detailed instructions on the layout of the hotel, outlets, and amenities. Our room was clean, well stocked, lovely, and ready immediately upon check-in. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The signature hotel scent was refreshing and not over powering. Room service was excellent and timely. We were pleasantly acknowledged by every housekeeper and staff member we crossed paths with. There certainly seemed to be a camaraderie between staff members and pride for their jobs on full display. We love Hyatt for their dog friendly-ness and our pup also enjoyed the property and the sweetness exhibited by hotel staff. I know shoulder season in mountain towns can be an interesting time, leaving businesses short-handed and staff burnt out but you wouldn’t know it here at the Grand. Final shout out to Justin in valet. We interacted with him multiple times during our stay. Pleasant and on-point. He even charged our vehicle for us, at the free EV charging station. Despite both our check-in and check-out times being very busy we never waited more than 5-10 minutes for our vehicle and all the boys remained on their toes, running to and from the garage non-stop to provide exceptional service. The hotel GM and outlet managers should be proud of their staff, they are well trained and embodied every element of luxury service. This may be the best stay we’ve had with Hyatt and there have been many. They made our last minute stay exceptional from beginning to end, especially considering this was not the trip we had planned for ourselves. We have a quick overnight planned in a few weeks and another reservation in February and we can’t wait to return. Bravo.

We specifically booked the Grand Hyatt because of the perks we receive with our Chase credit card. We booked a Grand Suite because we were traveling with our 19 month old and like to have a bedroom for him since he goes to bed at 7pm and we can still hang out in the living room after he goes to sleep. We arrived at the hotel around 3:30pm, after traveling for 12 hours from Florida. We were informed our room was not ready. At 4:30pm we received a text it was ready and we went to the front to get our key. The check in staff handed us the key and directions to our room without another word. We got to our room and found they put us in a basic hotel room. Without even mentioning the lack of suite. My husband went back up and had to end up speaking to a manger who said they had no suites available. Even though we booked this over 4 months ago. She offered adjoining rooms, which obviously we were not comfortable putting our 19 month old in a separate hotel room. After we decided we would leave and go to an airbnb they magically had a suite come available. They did comp us a hotel credit for our troubles, but the whole experience was terrible. Made us wonder how many other guests are taken advantage of by this hotel. Had we not gone back to the desk they would’ve never said anything and we would’ve ended up paying suite prices for a basic room. The valet staff was awesome and super friendly. Food was alright, but nothing to get excited about.

Our hotel stay here was so nice and we will definitely return. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and personable. Everything about the hotel is inviting. Plenty of trails and events to explore within the area near the hotel also. Appreciate the hospitality of all the staff. Because of this experience we will return and have the best experience with our family.

Great amenities. Great location by the river. Top notch service. Excellent food options. Favorite bathroom I've seen in years. Why the low rating? Junk fees, which should either be illegal or taxed at 100%. I can't stand being quoted a price online, paying, only to be told at checkout that there's a mandatory $55/day resort fee. Did the hotel not know about this fee when I was booking? I can't stand dishonest business practices. I will never never support such a thing. You can't just hide 15-20% of the cost and surprise customers when it's too late. So, if you're trying to decide whether to stay here, know this: 1. It's a great hotel. 2. Add $55/night to your quoted rate 3. Add another $55/night for parking. There's another parking option that costs $35/day but has no in/out privileges... so isn't going to be a real option for most people.

Wonderful hotel with all the amenities you would want for an outdoor adventure tire. There is a lift directly from the hotel and they store your skis at the ski shop. Love it.

This place is extremely overpriced for the amenities. Rooms are fine but nothing special. The pull out couch bed literally felt like it was from the early 1990s. Was impossible to sleep comfortably on. The burger was bland and flat. Also there are hidden parking fees of $55 a night that IS NOT included with your booking fee. There is no public parking anywhere near the hotel. It is extremely misleading. I would just get an airbnb over staying at this place. It’s a waste of money in my opinion.

We stayed in a townhouse. It was perfect. Small kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and comfy beds. It was less than 10 mins from the village/lift. It was very relaxing. We even called the front desk for a couple things and they were super quick to respond.
