Everyone was super inviting and respectful here. I like hostel environments because it's not overly luxurious and people interact in the shared spaces. This place had what we needed, breakfast, bed, showers, bathrooms, and even a mini fridge to store some food. I was very pleased and had a great stay here with my fiance while we explored the grand canyon and the surrounding areas! This was also far cheaper and convenient to stay at than it would have been to stay closer to the Grand Canyon.
It’s been a pretty such great stay, well located in downtown. We were just looking for a place to sleep, and the experience was better than expected! The hostel is really cool and cosy with nice staff, always available for any kind of help or just have a little chat! They have free parking, which is so convenient if you stop by just for the night. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the Grand Canyon.
This is an interesting place to stay. If you want inexpensive and communal with lots of international budget (usually younger) travelers to share life stories with, then this is the place. And its quite on the funky side (exposed pipes, old wood floors, small not quite kept up shared baths). But you may like that kind of thing, life's an adventure. Oh also, the staff are very friendly, informative, and helpful. And having a kitchen for breakfast after several days on the road was appreciated. But there were several problems that majorly got in the way of my sleeping: the mattress was bouncy and noisy, they kept the heat on at night. but opening the window to get relief let the already noticeable noise from the frequent and close by freight trains fully into the room. So it was a sleepless night and hence I can only put down two stars for the Hostel. For just a bit more $ check out the Highland Hotel where I stayed a few days later and was satisfied with, at least, a good nights sleep.
This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was a great experience. It is an older (historic!) establishment, but in spite of that, everything was very reasonably clean and easy to access/use. It was located within easy walking distance of lots of restaurants, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Hubby and I had a private room that had a queen-size bed, a sink and a desk in it, and then bathrooms with shower & toilet were down the hall (and again, kept clean). We did not take advantage of the light breakfast (beyond coffee!), but it looked fine. Great place to stay if you're trying to save some pennies and don't mind being a little more "social" than people tend to be when they stay at hotels, etc.
Great hostel. The atmosphere is good and the staff are all helpful and sociable as well. I had to wait to be able to shower sometimes but I can overlook that. The hostel is located right next to the train station which is good if you're travelling by train, but might cause some noise issues otherwise. It's also pretty close to the Grand Canyon and even if you don't have a car you can use the shuttle service by Arizona Shuttle.
Great overall experience. Exactly what you should find in a hostel. Staff warm & welcoming. Bathrooms down the hall and shared bunks. Building is old so has "old building issues", but that is also what gives it charm. For the price, comfort, location, meeting people from all over the nation & world, I was very happy. We spent one night here before going to the Grand Canyon for R2R2R backpacking. After our wonderful time in the GC our flight out on Christmas Day was canceled twice due to snow. The GC Hostel was able to take us back in thankfully, offering to share their Christmas dinner. One of our best family Christmas ever! It was no hardship to be stranded in Flagstaff, AZ.
For $26 a night, the hostel had every amenity imaginable - a kitchen, laundry, fridge, TV room, plenty of space to roam. We shared a mixed dorm with a girl who was in bed by 10pm, so we had to tip toe around her in the dark, but overall the vibes were great. It wasn't super crowded during the summer peak seasons. It's about an hour away from Grand Canyon, one of the best spots in the country. Flagstaff is also an amazing town, I wish we got to stay longer.
Two friends and I stayed at the Grand Canyon International Hostel and loved it! The room was clean and had its own sink which was very nice for a hostel. The staff members were helpful and gave us tips on where we should eat. Off street parking was a big plus for us!

Beautiful, beautiful place to visit. I have been as a child and now bringing my own; to learn of their culture and others. (There is now a restroom in the parking lot and people are still using the main house as a restroom. Can you people please sto
I won a bet with my buddy about who had the best burrito in town. I made him eat an El Mayor from Tres Amigos. He looked me dead in the eyes and said: "you win".
Gracie Barra Flagstaff has been such a great place to watch our son learn fundamentals of life, safety and become more confident as a 6 year old. We've only been here since January 2023 and we have enjoyed every part of being involved in this academy
Ordered double Thai hot Pad Se Ew. Appropriate spice level, everywhere else in flag makes their Thai hot too weak. Great portions and good flavor. Would definitely come back for a big portion of perfectly spicy Thai.
When you hear "hole in the wall" this is the place. But really it's a magical portal to dragon land. The cod and chips was toe curling good. There are meat pies that had me drooling. I picked up some Scotch eggs for breakfast and I'm so egg-cited. I
I was excited to visit here, as it is part of the original Route 66. It did not disappoint! The ambience inside, the servers uniforms, all the automotive memorabilia - it had it all! I recommend the barbecue sliders and the macaroni and cheese sharea
We have been walking this trail for years. It is one of our favorites, especially when the kids were small and still in a stroller. The trail is about as easy as it gets and has some very scenic views. If you are with little ones, just starting on a
This place was awesome in every aspect. First, the staff was very warm and welcoming. She took the time to explain what the business was all about and gave excellent menu suggestions. The food was great. I was there at the breakfast meal period b
It was a short trail but, it was worth the walk around. My husband has never been, though his first thought was.. . What? A bunch of old molted rocks, "whoopie". That changed as we walked the trails and got to see up close what these "old molted roc
