Granada Inn - Silicon Valley - Featured Reviews (336)
The appliances and the state of the room were deteriorating. I also found what looked like bedbug casings around the walls. The mattresses appeared to be clean and I didn't see any actual bugs anywhere, no bites. There are other reviews that say they regularly check for bedbugs and have exterminators come out so I really hope that's true and what I was seeing was something else but I don't know. The door doesn't always lock, the shower has potential but it's got calcium build up and mold on the floors and shower curtain. The water comes out looking like milk, the towels were super stiff for some reason. Won't be staying here again.
The bathroom shower head was absolutely filthy, there appeared to be mold in the grout lines in the shower, and the carpet has clearly not been scrubbed clean in a long time because following a shower I walked around the room barefooted and the bottoms of my feet were turning black. I asked for the shower head to be cleaned, which it was, but after doing so about half of the shower head jets didn't work. I ended up cancelling my 2nd reservation as a result of all of this.
Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms, decent prices, and all the amenities you'd need for a working visit to Santa Clara or San Jose - a bathroom, kitchenette, desk, plenty of power slots, etc. I found the ironing board and iron very useful for my dress-shirt and suit! You'd ideally want a car or scooter while staying here, as the location isn't hugely convenient - if you're relying on public transport, or want to stock up at a local grocery or convenience store, you'll be in for a bit of walking. It's not TOO bad, but very much worth keeping in mind.
The overall impression of the hotel is positive; however, it did not meet my expectations in a couple of aspects. There was no breakfast provided, and the common area for guests had a seating limit of 15 minutes. Other than that, everything else was OK.
I've had the pleasure of spending some time here on multiple occasions. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. One often overlooked quality in today's budget rooms is that these rooms actually have carpet! When on a long trip it's the little things that stand out. When I stay here for business, I typically have the same room for a week or two, and can appreciate their service policy of only cleaning twice a week. I don't need daily turnovers, but maybe thet could supply three days of towels instead of just two. Also, the El Pollo Loco next door is a great place for a hot meal. All things considered, the Granada is my go-to hideaway home away from home when one or two nights isn't enough.
I was a guest here between Monday February 20 2023 and today Wednesday February 22 2023. After a very terrible experience in a motel on the other side of San Jose two weeks ago, I was genuinely cautious when I decided to stay here. However, within two hours of my stay here, my fears disappeared. To be honest, this is not a Hilton. However, if you want a decent accommodation at a good price, if you care about customer service, if you love cleanliness or if you want to stay in a wonderful crime-free neighborhood, then look no further. The professionalism and courtesy of the staff-all the staff, is commendable. The manager is a young lady who is obviously proud of her job and cares about the business. There's always someone to pick up the phone when you need some assistance. I had problems with the remote control of my room television. Within minutes, a new one was provided. Even the housekeeping staff work with smiles on their faces. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I am writing a review for any hotel before even checking out! The rooms are super clean. The cutlery, refrigerator, microwave etc are in top shape. Initially, I wanted to spend a night. But I was so satisfied with their services that I extended my stay by another day. If I had my way, I would give everyone here a pay raise. They deserve it. They care for the business! There is no doubt about it. I will be back here again and again!!
This place is the worst place I've ever stayed at. The room was small. The furniture was old. The TV was the size of a small computer monitor. The paint was falling off bathroom door. Advertise free breakfast - doest exist. Ownership doesn't respond to messages
Past couple of stays here there were problems with the room. Lamps not working, shower not working properly, sewer gas arising from the sink. If they do better mainainence, I'd give a better score. Safety. I haven't seen an issue here with personal safety.
