Some communities are focused on cutting back: lower taxes, less government. But others, such as Dobbs Ferry, take a different approach. When searching for a place to retire, my husband and i considered the obvious: weather, available housing stock, proximity to shopping, etc. But what about the fabric of the community? What actions does/has the community done (taken) to welcome people of all ages, seniors, working parents and children. One of the gems in Dobbs Ferry is a lovely park, Gould Park, with infrastructure intended to be enjoyed by its residents! Gould Park goes a long way to promoting community sports, leisure and a sense of togetherness with its basketball court and amazing play machines for younger children.
Great park. My kids loved it. Very kids friendly.
The kids love this park. The largest in Dobbs Ferry with a new Pool, swings, play structures, and ball field. You may want to bring your own lawn chairs, as seating is limited compared to the number of people that visit. Two enormous trees are the only shade and the play equipment is in full sun. If only the village could cut away some of the green space, to add some safe parking. Otherwise a great area for a primo, fun family day!
Nice park but very dirty - found a glass bottle in jungle gym that I had to remove due to toddler safety. There were random bottles and trash around the park that my 1 year old tried to pick up. There was a teenager standing on baby swings. I expect higher standards in Dobbs.
This review is specific to the playground only: it's functional but lacking in may ways. 1) There's no bathroom, or at least not one that is open. Instead there is a port-a-potty that looks worse than those I've seen at construction sites. Gas station bathrooms are cleaner than that thing. Also good luck if you need a changing table. If that abandoned looking building in the back has bathrooms, they should be clearly marked with some signage. If it's closed from years of neglect, hopefully that gets addressed next (the new playground and new pool are nice signs that the village has invested some cash into this park, but there's still plenty to be done—a bathroom is a pretty basic and highly necessary feature). 2) There's two trees. There's a cluster of benches under one of the trees. Need some shade on a hot day? Go to a neighboring town, because every bench under that tree will be full. 3) There's no fences around the play areas. if you've got a toddler or twins or are watching someone else's kids who might run different directions, good luck. I'm not sure why one wasn't installed when they upgraded this playground. (Sure there's a fence around the park, but the swings and other stuff are close enough to an open driveway that doesn't have a gate to be concerning—plenty of other playgrounds are double fenced). 4) Accessibility: there's two handicap parking spots, but the ramp (if you can call it that) leads to a steep bump in a sinking sidewalk. No good for strollers and probably wheelchairs too. you've got to walk down the street to get to the driveway/entrance. At best it's less than ideal, at worse it's an ADA lawsuit waiting to happen. At least there's a ramp down to the playing field... If you're ok with these shortcomings, the new play equipment and swings are really nice. Hopefully they'll get around to these details I've outlined next time they're doing major work on this park.
Small park, unique playground equipment for kids to enjoy. Right next to the pool and so very popular with young families. It's a bit too small though and fairly crowded on the weekends.
Came for lap lanes in the morning. Plenty of space and so peaceful.
The park is in a nice quiet neighborhood - good for baseball, softball and cricket. Parking is just adequate but it is street parking. No food or water in walking distance. The bathrooms were not functioning when I went there..

First time going and definitely not the last. The park is right by the Hudson River. The view is beautiful. There is a restaurant in the park also that I plan on going to very soon. There are grills for BBQing, and tables very nice. A park for childr
This Italian-style coffee shop is truly remarkable. They exclusively serve authentic Italian coffee, and every cup comes with a complimentary biscotti. In addition to their exceptional coffee, they also provide a delightful breakfast menu and a selec
Great Italian-American fare. Portions are molto grande, take it easy on bread before the meal! My 2024 New Year's dinner at home of sausage (which my brother-in-law had them remove from his chicken scarpariello @ Scaramellaâs) and peppers.
My husband and I went here for new years tonight. Itâs one of our first new favorite restaurant in westchester. Our waiter was phenomenal. The pork dish was outstanding, the pasta starter dish was probably our favorite of the night. the branzino en
I used to come here with my family when I was a little kid. I've grown up now and so has this Dobbs Ferry staple. I had the halibut special. Totally delicious. David made the evening really great. The service was 100%. I'm looking forward to when we
So delicious! The challah French toast with the fresh fruit and whipped cream was absolutely amazing! Accompanied by some bacon and a sandia mia (their watermelon tequila drink) which were both really good. The backyard garden was very pretty - very
If you're looking for an "upper crust" pizza dining experience, then look no further than The Parlor. There are few other options on the menu, other than pizza and salad, but that's okay, as they do both superbly. I started with a side house salad
It was a decent nice diner. The waitstaff was great. Very busy which is always a good sign to me. Ordered the Belgian waffle which was nice and fluffy and chicken tenders was tasty, moist and stayed hot the entire meal. I believe the matredi stopped
I visited Chauncey Square every time I passed from Sawmill Parkway to upstate. This time, I decided to eat something different other than usual Chipotle, and I didn't regret it. Food was served quickly, and the portion was just right for my appetite.
Remember when they were building this place. Crazy how much it has been developed and I think they utilized the space well. Minimal traffic. Easy on and off of the major parkway. Always amble parking no matter which business I have visited. Only tra
