You can almost always see the gorillas. Their habitat is visitor friendly.
N Carolina zoo very nice although alot of walking between exhibits.. animals seem content w spacious areas for the most part.. ..gorillas and some other animals like the Mexican wolves look like they need more space but again, all looks good and animals appear to be well cared for in general.
If you're patient and wait, you can see the gorillas up close and they will sometimes put their hand on the glass with yours or they will gaze into your eyes. It is a truly unique experience and worth your time.
They put on a show trying to steal a blanket from another gorilla and charging the window really enjoyed it.
11-13-22 Africa side with a few viewing areas (glass). This consistently has been one of the best exhibits for viewing at the NC Zoo (for me anyway) in that one of the gorillas is usually against the glass. They don't seem bothered or concerned with people. Signage detailing age, gender, etc of the gorillas in the exhibit. I find this a popular exhibit and the ability to see these creatures close makes this a very good stop.
